@@ABANDONEDCHANNEL68 this plane was made by the whole country of the USSR, Ukraine just got it because it was developed there, the second one was almost ready for 90%, but Ukraine could not launch it because there were no spare parts for it in the world -they were only in Russia, Ukraine used the second plane as a donor for the first one, not when Ukraine did not he will launch the second plane since there are almost no spare parts in it and they will not be able to make them, even Boeing or Airbus will not be able to make such spare parts.

Ukraine became NOTHING without USSR and Russia. Just western colony and henchman.

@@ABANDONEDCHANNEL68 The AN-225 made its first flight on the 21st of December 1988 taking off from the factory aerodrome in Svyatoshyn. The airplane was flown by a crew headed by Oleksandr Galunenko. Mriya was developed for transportation of the Buran shuttle orbiter and components of the Energiya carrier rocket. The AN-225 was also expected to be used as a flying space launching site in the reusable aerospace transport system (MAKS) with the airplane making its first stage and a small-size space shuttle with a fuel tank - the second stage. Mriya can deliver extra-heavy oversize cargo to any point on the globe carrying it either inside the fuselage or on external stores. Two AN-225 airplanes were built. Construction of one of the aircraft was completed. Fuselage and tail unit were assembled at Antonov Kyiv Mechanical Works facility in Kyiv, while the wing center section and outer wing panels were assembled at Valerii Chkalov Tashkent Production Association in Tashkent. I totally agree that is a big Cargo ship and you would think how would this plane take off for that size well it took off slow but it got off the ground,I love this plane and infact I got a diecast collection of this plane it's a 1:500 made by Herpa collection.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is releasing the 225 in the Marketplace for about $20 USD this Monday on PC. It will be available for the Xbox version next month. 100% of the revenue is going to Antonov to support a rebuild of the 225.

I purchased a 1:72 scale model of Mryia recently. She's big! The fuselage is nearly a meter long! I can't wait to start building her. It'll probably take a few months to complete.

Not exactly, the production facility (ADB and the production plant) is in Kyiv itself, while Hostomel international airport is the base of the separate Antonov Airlines, not of the plant, it features a hangar or two only

i dont think whern it comes back it will be much upgraded because new research is very expensive, they woul probably make an exact copy of it because its the cheaptest method. I hope they let the iconic tail and 6 engines, wich makes the an 225 feel very special, i hope w eget news to ist rebuild soon

Антонов родился в Новосибирске. То что ему дали КБ и завод в киеве - просто случайность. Да и Киев при СССР был практически русским городом. То что это все досталось украине, чистая случайность. Никакие украинцы не строили самолета. Они вообще мало отношения имеют к советскому самолету.

it was manufactured in Ukraine, like most part of missles and rockets which we had to give away to Russia according to the Budapest memorandum. No worries it was built in Ukraine by ukrainian people.

Самолет производился в кооперации с кучей заводов не на украине и если бы руководство СССР хоть на секунду предполагало бы, что украина может хоть когда либо отделиться, то никакой авиазавод там строить бы не стали. Хохлы сами неспособны спроектировать самолет. Чтобы сделать его крыло нужны технологии аллюминиевого литья, титановые и прочие. Их нету на украине. Такое громадное крыло им не сделать. При распаде СССР украине вообще много чего досталось. Все это постепенно разворовывается и деградирует. Закрываются заводы, беднеет население.
