Incredible Flight on Antonov AN-124 Cargo Transporter

I went on an INCREDIBLE ride inside the Volga Dnepr An-124 Ruslan Cargo Transporter from the East Midlands, UK to Toulouse, France.
There is nothing quite like the An-124! Designed in the late 1970s and capable of carrying 120 tons of oversized cargo. The An-124 is one of the biggest cargo aircraft in the world. It was an important means of national transport and a prestige object for the Soviet Union. Forty years later, it is still highly sought after in the transport sector.
6 cockpit crew and 7 cargo loadmasters accompanied me on my AN-124 flight. There are built in cranes and equipment inside the aircraft for the An-124 to operate in any remote airfield, without ground support. Watch the complex loading exercise before a flight inside the “hidden” passenger compartment of the An-124. I mounted a GoPro camera to capture the 6 men cockpit action during the flight. Loadmaster Vladimir explains all the characteristics and operations of the An-124.
Flying on the Antonov 124 is unlike any other flight experience I have had in the past. It is RAW Aviation and really brings the “AvGeekness” out in me.

It's a fascinating aircraft indeed. I remember when Michael Jackson came to Lisbon in 2002 he rented two of these, just to carry all the equipment needed for his concert. Later they took off straight ahead from RWY 21, one after the other, thundering over the city at low altitude. Unforgettable sight!

there were plans to build a new cargo plane (model between An-124-100 and An-225. it's An-124-300 )... but after the events of 2014 the attitude towards the ukraine has changed and Antonov's plant may soon become bankrupt. The new An-124-300 will be built, but not under the Antonov brand.

Although I was listening to music with headphones on my way to university in Kharkiv a few years ago, I started hearing incredibly loud noise. I took off my headset and looked around. Suddenly, I saw that this plane was landing at the top of the airport next to the university, with the landing gear clearly above me. He was like a dinosaur with his huge body. I was surprised. Birkaç yıl önce Kharkiv'deki üniversiteye giderken kulaklıkla müzik dinlesem de inanılmaz derecede yüksek sesler duymaya başladım. Kulaklığımı çıkardım ve etrafıma baktım. Aniden, üstümde An-124 gördüm. Açık iniş takımları ile üniversitemin yanındaki havaalanına iniyordu. Büyük bedeniyle bir dinozor gibiydi. Şaşırmıştım.

Russians also made a huge mess of AN-124 UR-82009, which is inside a hangar opposite the remains of the 225. The Dmytro Antonov channel shows the outside and inside, it was already dismantled for maintenance, hasn't flown since April 2020. They think it's repairable, but looks like new parts will be needed.
