Part 6 fights are ass

I think you're right about parts 1 to 3, but I'm really confused at the idea that there is hardly any comedy in part 5. Staying very vague to minimize spoilers, almost every episode has comedy scenes, from the random meal conversations and childish antics between the crew early on whenever Bruno is away to maybe the most iconic darkly funny scene in the whole franchise, the torture dance. Even the serious battles often have a bit of comic relief. The literal teenage antics are masterful because they enhance rather than detract from their "battle personas". And near the end there is practically an essay on how to intermingle comedy and danger. It's very darkly comic, but to me it's the entire appeal.

@@Ramlock01 in my own feelings, i found the comedy scenes not to my comedic tastes. Mista giving food to his Stand kinda just pissed me off, and him shooting himself every fight went from funny to frustrating really quick. and while the torture dance is kinda funny i suppose, it's just four panels, you know? and with how short it is, it's kind of a "lol random" kinda moment in the first place, which while can be funny from the absurdism, just kinda leaves you going "what? do they do this every time they torture someone? i have no many questions. was this even to do with them torturing, or did they just happen to feel like dancing while they coincidentally were torturing?" i feel a similar way about mista feeding his Stand. like, if they aren't a physical stand, how are they consuming matter? food goes through a natural cycle inwhich we eat it, then secrete it as waste. what happens to the natural cycle if we're feeding our salami to our Stands? why do they get hungry? etc. so all and i all, i found part 5's attempts at comedy more frustrating than anything, and with the frustratingly complex fights that try too hard to be clever, unlike in part 4 or 6 where they're much more down to earth puzzle solutions, it made part 5 a far less fun experience for me other than a few stand out moments. further so, to be honest, i didn't find the 'teenage antics' all that relatable. for me, part 4 fit far more into that context, with these silly teenage boys being idiots with one another. so, generally speaking, it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Part 8 has the most horror fights. Ozon baby, WoU, Doctor Wu, that zombie virus. I would say that part 8 is mystery-horror, and re-reading previous parts after 8 really opens your eyes on how much horror jojo really has in it.
