I remember this. I saw it as a kid on TV I think it was at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk. We lived near there. I was a really big Glenn Miller and Artie Shaw fan from about 5 years old.

Ray Mc Kinley was still an excellent big band drummer, then you have probably the only solo by Zeke Zarchy on RU-vid

Ray McKinley, so smooth at the drums and a little flair for showmanship too. I wonder if Huub Janssen was influenced by him.

It's great to see three of the stars of the AAF Band back together! Glenn was a genius to have landed Peanuts Hucko for his lead clarinet, driving the band like the Goodman disciple that he was. According to a couple of music historians Zeke Zarchy had a major but unsung role in helping form the AAF Band. Then-Captain Miller assigned him the job of recruiting players from the huge pool of talent who were now serving Uncle Sam. In a sense, he was almost as responsible for the AAF Band's creation as was Miller. Miss you, Zeke.

exactly what measure are you referring to?

@@HelloooThere just the saxes exposition of the theme. Lead alto shouls shorten his notes, as it is there all the phrasing is heavy...

@@HelloooThere of course. I play tenor in a big band, and that was my feeling. No offense meant
