Anvil F7A VS Anvil F8C - Which ship is better in raw DPS ?

From Scuttlebutt around SQ42 you are meant to have the option of one after finishing around 90% of the story. But as we know that can change or just be a roomer.

@@RavingNut Years ago, Chris Roberts himself said that the F8 would be a reward for completing (or at least reaching a certain point in) SQ42. What we *don't* know is if it will be an F8A or an F8C. We also don't know if we'll be getting the ship for free or merely unlocking the faction standing to be able to buy it in-game.

@@randlebrowne2048It might be an F8A upgrade token. They can’t just give out the actual ship because it would invalidate all the people who payed $260 for the F8C originally.

@@feariex Keep in mind that every ship and item are supposed to eventually be earnable in-game. As one of those who bought an F8C (using store credit) for $300, I wouldn't have a problem with melting it in favor of another ship if I can eventually get it for free.

It got crapped on but most of the people with the backbone to say anything already left.

So, while the VK-00 looks good based on that high top speed, the Spectre is actually faster for most jumps. Not only can you do successive jumps more quickly, but the Spectre has a much faster Stage 1 Acceleration value (1000+m/s vs. 600ish of the VK-00), so unless you're making the longest possible jumps across the system over and over, (like Crusader to Microtech) you'll save more time with the Spectre. Grinding bounties within one system for example - the Spectre beats the VK-00 handily. Even for a 32 GM jump (the distance between Crusader and Hurston), the Spectre beats the VK-00 by 10 seconds. The "Acceleration" stat is also why those Size 2 drives like the Crossfield or XL-1 are way faster than the VK-00, even though they have lower top speeds. - a player who used to use the Banu Defender as my runabout ship (also a S1 QD w/ a bunch of fuel) :D

The MFDs issue with the F7A is because you are meant to have holographic informations around your helmet in the future. They're not gonna make more MFDs temporary to have to rework the ship again in the future. That's why they made the whole shmilblick with the MK1 and MK2 series for Hornet.

The F7A does not need a nerf considering how easy it is to pop the shields on it. It's effectively a glass canon.

@@Heshinsi this will not change as the F7 is only a medium fighter and it is not supposed to kill large ships...

@@BesteWare I meant to say that it does not need a nerf. OP thinks it will be nerfed but I don't think it needs to. Time to kill has increased and the F7A can not withstand a swarm of light fighters attacking it.

@@1991Ursa I really would like to see how you manage to solo kill all enemy ships of the ERT in a F8C on a 30fps server. I'm not saying you can't I just want to see it and learn how to do it. If you have any tutorial video or tips. In the past that was easy, keep nose on target, orbit around and everything is fine no one follow you, now if you do that there is a bunch of bad guys orbiting with you around the target and boom!

For weapon loadout i use all deadbolt cannons, and my flight setup is HOSAS (I tuned the sensitivity and deadzones). Dont get me wrongbi have to disengage sometimes to recharge shields but im 99% succesfull

Probably a bug, it will probably be corrected so it turns to the same radius it does in SCM mode soon. As it should being a heavy fighter.

Its also civilian vs military. It makes sense the military version would have more fire power, even if its the lower tier.

F8c is a flying boring computer mouse. Not so great design. Unlike F7A/C mk2 - it is design masterpiece

They are cargo ships and protected by fighters like Hammerhead or Redeemer. They are not shooting back because the server is bad. If you try the same mission now with a good server, you will see the difference. o7

100? That explains a thing. One ground npc shot at me with P4 rifle for like two seconds and after that, lower S3 guns were disabled

It was all the time at the same angle and in the same place. The only mistake was to take Andromeda instead of Taurus.

Why? Hornets are the most typical space ship, honestly kinda boring. F8 looks like a super modern ship with fuck tons of guns...
