Hey y'all! This ASMR audio role play is a smörgåsbord of techniques that I've adapted from all my favorite anxiety relief videos on RU-vid. There are elements of ASMR, hypnosis, and guided meditation. The goal of this experimental technique is to interrupt your panicked thoughts by engaging your mind with a steady stream of questions and sensory information, and to then gradually guide you into a relaxed state.
I hope this video helps you to tingle, relax, and drift away to sleep!
Love,
JB

PLEASE RECOMMEND OTHER, SIMILAR, FAST PACED VIDEOS BELOW! People are asking for recommendations a lot in the comments, so I thought it might be convenient for everyone to be able to reference one easy-to-find pinned comment here. Please note, however, that if you post a link in your comment, it may be automatically sent to a spam folder and held there until I get a chance to approve it. If you'd like to avoid that, it's safer to just write the artist/channel name and video title.

This video by Karuna Satori also inspired some of the techniques in my video. PLEASE NOTE: Her video is a role play that adapts EMDR techniques, which involves recalling and processing traumatic events. She addresses the need to be careful multiple times, but I also want to urge you to please be very thoughtful and careful about engaging in this role play if you have a history of trauma.

Since a few people have expressed concern, I want you all to know that I’m very much hoping to produce more content with my live, actual, active face moving around in it. Though I’ve made many attempts, I unfortunately haven’t been able to successfully film any “face to face” video content since last February. There are a variety of things that continue to make filming very challenging: I live in a city, in an area that’s been developing (and getting louder) rapidly over the past few years; I have three young children, who seem to have secretly agreed to take turns waking up and refusing to go back to sleep each time I film; and, finally, the medications I take for my mental health have done wonders for improving my quality of life, but they also make it very difficult for me to be alert enough to work during the only semi-quiet hours in my neighborhood (between midnight and 4 A.M.). BUT ... I haven’t given up on it, and my husband and I are currently looking into the feasibility of financing a soundproof booth for our home that would be large enough to film in. In the meantime, I will probably continue to produce mostly audio-only content as it’s significantly easier to create under these current circumstances. Thank you all for your continued support! I hope to be making content for you for a long, long time. Please know that I’m always making as much ASMR content for you as I possibly can-both for you AND for me, because I truly love creating it.

This will sound like a joke but I'm being sincere: As someone with Inattentive ADHD (formerly known as ADD), falling asleep can be hard because I get bored while I wait for the ASMRtist to finish their gently drawn-out sentences. The fast pace knocked me out so hard that I almost fell asleep at my desk, and now I'm about to nap harcore to this. Instant favorite! ♡♡♡
@cleaningluna
@cleaningluna 4 года назад
Yes! I feel quite similar. I have trouble sleeping because I have trouble turning my brain off, as soon as I get into bed I get racing anxious thoughts, and I need asmr to be aggressive/fast enough to snap my brain out of that cycle and then keep my attention. The beginning of this video, with the visualizations, shapes, and color changes, was some of my favorite content ever!

These comments made me so happy!❤️ In its very first phase, I was thinking of this as something targeted toward people with ADHD, but then decided to expand it to make it more general. I’m so glad this worked as intended for you, thank you for letting me know!

I was thinking about the way that Dr. Ned Hallowell has described ADHD brains as having “a Ferrari engine, but the brakes of a bicycle.” I wanted to create a piece of ASMR content that would help slam the brakes before transitioning into the slower stuff.

The "I need to see you're making an effort" was so teacher-y that it caused instant tingles for me, because it made it feel all the more real, like there would be some sort of consequence (bad result, etc.) if I didn't. It was lovely. Also the fast pace was AMAZING. Thank you!

Warmth, coldness and pain (nociception) signals reach the brain through the spinothalamic pathway. Was just studying what these sensations are at the physical level, and along comes this video and helps me take an imaginary tour of the neural pathways I was just reading about. I deeply appreciate the effort and love that goes into creating work like this.

This is one of my favorite ASMR videos anywhere. But I think interacting with the same video so often is bound to cause some weird responses. For instance today for the first time ever I managed to follow the shape exercise. I'm rather proud of myself at that one. I started out with a navy blue sphere and ended up with a dark red cube. Also when the light wand part came up I was already half asleep and thought "no don't pass it over my heart, it'll stop beating" lmao

This video has gotten me through so many panics over the last year, from miscommunication with a girl I liked, to fights with my best friend, to trying to get home in March, to protesting this summer, and to, tonight, thinking about grad school applications. The way that adhd and anxiety combine for me means that most meditations aimed at calming you down move too slowly and give me too much time to get caught in my thoughts. This video has truly been so helpful in getting me to stop thinking for just a moment, in a year so full of worries. Thank you, JB, you’ve genuinely given me a really valuable tool in handling my brain and I’m very grateful for it

Just a note to show appreciation for this upload, which is now my most watched ASMR video. It reveals new insights with every viewing. My imagination get's oddly creative with some questions - Imagine a house - House MD. Imagine a mountain - the Mountain dude from GOT. Imagine a river - River Phoenix... At other times I just let my mind wander and the imagery is an insight by itself. It's unlikely that anyone is reading this, or cares for the following proposal, but I highly recommend watching this with a blackout sleep mask on... the kind that let's you keep your eyes open, but let's in ZERO light (available from other necessary but evil conglomerates online...) as it allows you to imagine with your eyes wide open. Incredibly fun. Much respect to the ASMRtist for this content and for interrupting anxiety I didn't have, and coaxing revelations from my daydreaming mind. Thanks.

I love the pace of this because it keeps my mind from wandering you much (which is often why I have trouble sleeping). The lack of visuals is good for me too because sometimes I feel too compelled to keep my eyes open which also keeps me up. This video is the first ASMR video in a long time which I really struggled to get through without falling asleep! Thank you!!!

This is so relaxing. I find that I end up getting distracted by other things while watching really slow and gentle ASMR sometimes. Ive listened to this 5 times now and i get instant tingles every time! Thank you so much!!

This video is so helpful. No matter how many times I come back to it, it always works to take my mind off whatever I’m fixating on/panicking about and get some sleep. Thanks so much, JB! 💛

This was so great for my anxiety! I have inattentive ADHD so my mind goes a mile a minute and my body doesn't. I constantly have to have 2 stimuli going at one time to focus, and to have my conscious thought process and hearing focused on the video is really comfy and calming. The random little sounds like finger snapping that draw you back to the video are really helpful too! Thank you so much :))

This video continues to help me so much. I like your newer anti anxiety videos, but this one is special-I think having to imagine everything engages my brain even more than having visual things to track, I can’t just follow the pen with my eyes while my brain gets stuck in anxious patterns, my brain has to be involved the whole time. There’s a lot of stuff I really can’t think about right now if I want to sleep and I’m grateful for this video’s ability to distract me from all of it

Thank you. I know you made this ages ago, but I wanted to let you know how helpful this one was to me today. I started realizing I was about to have a panic attack today that would derail my day. I don’t have a lot of panic attacks these days but when I do, they mess my day up. I figured I’d sit down with one of your videos and then realized this was the one I should try since I hadn’t watched it. It shut my attack down and left me dozing but still paying just enough attention to come up at the end, which is not the norm when I watch ASMR videos. Usually I completely fall asleep, so I’m not sure what was different here. Anywho thank you again.

Lola, I just wanted to thank you deeply for this masterpiece. For the last 2-3 years, this one is my go to whenever I have a major anxiety crisis before sleep. Thank you so much for creating, it has helped fall sleep so many times I can't count them 🥹

I think I comment on this video every other month or so, but I just feel the need to keep letting you know how much this video helps me. I’m in a really bad patch of anxiety right now and nothing is working to get me to sleep except this video. As I’ve said before (and I’ll probably say again), thank you so much for this video. I truly appreciate it so much. Hope you’re doing well

Just wanted to say thank you for this vid. Was having some kind of breakdown over having to go back to work this morning last night, and it got me to stop spiralling long enough to pass out for a little bit beforehand. Appreciate the effort you put into these.

I hope you do more videos like this one. The stern voice and fast-paced setting in the beginning was a nice change and I could feel my eyes getting heavy before the video was halfway over. Definitely a new favorite of mine!
