Dylan. Three things. 1) I'd love to hear you explain the situation. Doesn't matter at all if you're just talking. I think everyone agrees. 2) Don't overthink videos. These are perfect. Just play Catan and upload. We LOVE that! 3) Thanks for providing content!
Very interesting to watch how you think about these games as they are happening. At 22:22, I think you should have used the year of plenty for ore+sheep instead of 2 sheep. That would give you exactly enough resources for a city and a settlement, putting you at 9 points. The downside is you probably get robbed from more because your opponents know exactly how many points you have, but with 9 points and a mono in hand and no danger of immediately losing largest army I'm pretty sure you would win.
Hey Dylan, I really enjoy your content you are a great catan player. Just a little constructive critisism... I think your videos would be better if you just slowed down a little bit. Your pace of speech is a bit pressured so fast...I know this is how your mind works but I find myself getting anxious just trying to keep up!!! I doubt I'm the only one :P cheers
i am listening in 1,5 speed, which is unusual for me cause i listen to 2 - 2,3 speed most of the time. I thought its cause of the game, but apparently its his speaking! that just means he gets more screen time from me compared to if he was slower :D
@@DyLightedPlaysCatan I think you're talking is on point! I listen to a lot of other people at 1.5 due to being bored. And the editing of the vids make it easily to follow the games while listening to you even if it's not directly game related- so I'm happy! (and it was me who couldn't follow along with some earlier, faster edited videos, so... thx and keep it up!)
this game shows the extreme detriment of not having a port in the late game. Blue had a great setup but he was lacking it. This way he was kinda forced to race to the brick port which led him to take also road that made him the target for all the robbing. Maybe the mistake he did was not taking the 3:1 port, instead of going for 2-4-9. In the end I think he lost only because of the massive robbing.

How on earth do you win when taking a port with one of your first 2 settlements? I have never, ever won a game like this. In fact I've never even come close.
Did you ever think about taking the 3,8 double sheep on the sheep port. I’m not a high level player so it’s what I probably would have done why is that wrong. Because you didn’t even think about it.
If you take 8-3 there is no space for expand and also leaves blue and orange awesome placements to expand. Blue would surely win if he have 8-4 and without it he was strong anyways. By taking 8-4 you have extra ore and good expansion to 4-11 for strong ows game.
83 sheep port looks sexy af. Is it because of the dessert that everybody ignored it? How about this: take 83 port as first pick and then choose the emptiest part of the board as last pick and mainly expand there?
1: "Emptiest part of the board" wouldn't be good enough when you're only backing it with 7 points of sheep production. The other placement spots couldn't back it well enough, especially since you're choking your expand points if you want anywhere good. 2: It's REALLY low port production. Black took the superior wood production into wood port expand, and even that was still risky (and killed him because Orange sniped the wood port from him) 3: You'd be too heavily reliant on rolling those two numbers. Again, the wood strategy at least gave 15 unique points, whereas with the other 8 sheep you'd still only have 7 unique points, and 12 total points. It's just too weak.
