Thank you that was so useful. I just bought the 878uv11 and wondered why my older 868 was receiving transmissions on a repeater while the new radio remained silent.
Great stuff. This is not that widely known. I try to push it and publicize it. Appreciate the comment. Loads of other stuff about this radio on my channel, please subscribe
Thanks, rookie. Yes, Norman, does a lot of great work behind the scenes. I managed to get his knowledge on the beta test team. We are lucky to have him.
Great info. May have to check what mine is set too. I did try to set up roaming ages ago as I am mostly mobile don't think it worked. Not used my anytone for about 2 weeks. Have a good evening and weekend 73 👍🏻
@@digitalanaloguehamradio might try and bend my 20m efhw around my 8x6m attic to see if I can catch you guys online. Don't have much luck when I put an antenna in the garden which is 8x8m
NEVER set Group Call Hold or Person Call Hold to infinite, if you do this, the radio will NEVER do anything else until you change channels or switch sub-channels. When set to infinite and a digital call comes in the radio will hold on that and will stop the sub-channel receive, APRS TX, APRS RX (if supported), and possibly other features. Set this to a max of 5s. The Manual Hold Times you could set to Infinite if you like because in that case you've initiated a call out and manually set the TG and probably want it to stay set indefinitely, but it will still have the same effect mentioned above while it's in Hold.
