An new set from the wholesalers (so monetisation is switched on). It turns out to be a menus driven set in all respects & had no internal adjustments whatsoever. I found my way into the service menu & was able to bring the power up from the 2.8W it arrived doing to a full 4W. The snag is that they have you set the power on a fixed frequency of 27.205, which is channel 20 CEPT. Set 4W there & the radio only does 3.4W by the time it gets to ch 40 UK. After much compromising I managed 3.9W on UK 40 & 4W on ch 1, but a bit over by the time we get down to ch 1 CEPT...but still within the 10% instrumentation error permitted. The radio will only ever n=be used on UK FM anyway. I was also able to set up the deviation from a dreary 1.4khz to the 2.2 to 2.5Khz required.
Annoying menus aside & menu driven squelch, the radio actually after adjustment works very well into the test gear. We'll see how it goes on our 'on the air' test later on today.
