Depends on the maximum FPS that you can get in games. Basically, aim for the refresh rate that's going to be slightly higher than the maximum you plan on getting if you upgrade your computer.
Well, it always is, and so is the 1ms one. No LCD display can actually reach that figure, but the do get close to 1ms with the use of backlight strobing. 0.5ms was marked to distinguish new and faster models from all the 1ms rated models.
Official difference between ZU and ZE versions: ZE version is 40cm tall with the stand, while the ZU version is 53cm tall. As you can see on the video it's quite a big screen. ZU has a bigger screen than ZE. Also the other difference is the compatibility. ZE version has no official g-sync support, only freesync. While ZU version has both, Freesync and G-sync as well. In my country the ZE version is cheaper by 25$. However I would highly recommend to go with the ZU version due to larger screen and compatibility. ZE is a 27inch screen while a ZU is 27.5. It's quite noticable actually when I was checking them out in the store next to each other. ZU is much bigger. Screen was as tall as a 31.5inch AOC but the 27.5inch ZU version was not as wide as a 31.5 inch aoc. I hope I could help you. ZU has 1ms response time while ZE has 0.5ms. So that's a down for ZU at least. The other thing ZU has a built in 2x2W speaker and the extra usb ports compared to the ZE version. I would still get the ZU because of the bigger screen and usb ports. If you can do that, go for it. If not, it's okay.
I first had an AOC 24 144hz 1080p but then upgraded to an Acer 27 144 1080p that was curved. I really loved the curve but I ended up getting a dell 27in 1440p 144hz because of GSYNC. At the time Free sync wasnt compatible at all with Nvidia. I ended up selling my whole rig to switch to a gaming laptop setup because of work. I put off buying a monitor to just use my laptop screen 15in 1440p 165hz panel but now I need more screen space. I was searching the market for a budget Monitor and I was happy to find AOC had this option. The specs are just what i wanted. Great review! I just picked one up for 200 USD on Amazon. It is currently on sale
@@oscillatefn8303 Becuase it all comes with it's cons. First, VA panel. Worst monitor panel choice, playing darker games will give you ghosting (a little bit of it) and it can't display a billion of colors like other monitors can. It's 27" with a 1920x1080. That's pretty bad, since you will see pixels. Big monitor with a smaller resolution. For this size (27") I would say 2560x1440 resolution would be necessary. Now... Of course the smaller resolution won't affect you in any way, but you get the point. If you play games, I don't think you will see the pixels like you do for normal computer work/reading etc. So, in my opinion, go for this monitor if you don't have a lot of cash to throw and you are looking for a budget monitor. Definetly go for a better one if you do have the money to spare. I recommend a monitor with a resolution of 2560x1440, refresh rate of 240hz, response time of 1ms or lower and a IPS or TN panel.
i can't set this monitor to 240 hz ( now i am play games on ps4 but in few days i will have a pc) is that a probelm? the display port that aoc gives with the monitor can't be use with ps4 so what i have to do? thanks
That’s a bad idea Coming from someone who actually knows that they’re doing you should get a 165hz monitor for that build because you can’t run much games at that fps with your build
@@0pt.x i mean he can definitely hit 240 fps on fortnite with those specs, but if he wants 240 hz just for fortnite let him be. Plenty of other older games that can hit 240 hz easy idk people make it seem like everyone trying to always play the newest game in 240 hz when there's plenty of popular older titles still like rainbow 6 and cs go.
This is probably late so my bad but go to your desktop ,right click go to display settings , scroll down to advanced display settings and it should be there at the bottom, just press the tab and set it to 240hz and press keep changes
i'm about to do the exact same thing my new rtx3060 is puching more than 144fps i hope i don't start to hate 1080p after getting a bigger screen but at least i will be utilizing the full potential of my graphics card
@@MahdiStinson its such a good monitor i have a 3070 and its so nice having 240 hz i thought about refunding cuz the monitor was 32 inch but damn is it good now
i just played valorant for the first time today. Its good, but mine has 32 inches, so its big af. Moved from 144hz msi to this one. I don t know if theres a difference, but its good. If you get a 27 or a 32 one, make sure you have an amd gpu so you can use vsr.
I've watched the whole video more than twice I hav a doubt with the hdmi cable whats the maximum hz [1080p] Is it 240hz? Could u check and say accurately! Waiting for ur reply. I hav searched whole comment section abt this i haven't found any similar answer.

@@dipsithecreeper bro i bought the monitor last month and i have 1650 gtx and it is gstync adaptive/compatible trust me i can upload you a screenshot right now..
I also took this monitor from BF. It works and it looks much better, I upgraded from a 22 '' 4ms Benq. I can't put more than 60 Hz at 1920x1080 and max. 120 hz can only at 1024x768, do you have any suggestions? Maybe he won't let me because of the video card? Thanks.
@@lucasjohnsen5015 with DP cable i can go to 144hz and with HDMI cable only 60hz. GPU is very old 2009 Sapphire HD5770. I maxed my GPU, i need to change GPU to newer version to get 240 Hz
Yes, but the console is the limiting factor. If you use the PC and the console, then it's worth it, but if it's only for the PS4, there's no point in going over 60Hz
Hi, I´ve bought a AOC aoc c27g2u/bk and I like the blacks and the colors but the main use of it will not be for games, but for work and to watch series or F1. Especially when it comes to work, I'm disappointed with the low definition. I would like to get your opinion for the purchase of a 27" monitor with the main objective of working and watching series and sports. Thanks
getting even a 144fps monitor for watching videos is pointless, streaming has 60 fps at best right now, 240fps monitors are preety much exclusively for gamers that know what it does
You should have tested ghosting at lower refresh rates, it's surely much better. I doubt anyone would like to play at 240 Hz with this level of ghosting.
I was thinking of buying this monitor but 14 ms of input lag is a lot. And it's probably even more if you play something at 60hz. Are there va panels out there capable of lower values ?
Hey I'm suggesting on getting this monitor. I'm a little confused what you mean by 14 ms. I'm not a computer person knowing alot but 14 ms seems very high. But it said it would be 0.5ms? I haven't finished the video just reading comments. Sorry if I'm being silly.
We do measure at 60Hz and HDMI (that's what our device supports), so it will be lower at 240Hz and DP. The best we measured with any monitor with it was 8ms. @kasish Input lag is a measure of how much passes between the input receiving the signal and the panel displaying it, while the response time is a measure of how long it takes for the panel to switch from one color to the other (black/white or gray to gray).
@@bash_king_rc I'd still buy AOC C27G2ZU if I were you tho cuz if you get a pc and it runs 240 FPS or more it will be a beast, but its 100€ more expensive than the one I recommended (in my country)
recently i became interrested in buying a 240 hz monitor and i saw this monitor for 290 euro's. but i also saw a samsung 240 hz monitor (CRG5) for 300 euro's. i was wondering if anyone here knows which one is better? because i couldn't find any comparisons on RU-vid.
Hello, The monitor (CRG5) is a bad choice. It has a response time of 4ms (really bad for competetive gaming, at least 1 or 2 ms is NECESSARY for competetive, if you can always go with 0.5ms or lower). The monitor also has bad ratings and dissatisfied customers. It has a VA panel (the same as AOC monitor) This monitor is no different than AOC (and it's much worse than AOC). So I recommend this monitor in the video.
Just letting y’all know. Going from 60 to 144 is a huuuuggeeee jump. The game you’re playing becomes really smooth and everything looks clear. If u go from 60 to 240hz the jump is insane. 240 is definitely worth it. I have a 144hz and 240hz monitor and al I have to say is. Once u go to a higher hz and FPS, u won’t ever want to go back
