Worked almost 13 years for Missouri doing food stamp and medicaid for the State. 98% or higher of my caseload was WHITE! The county I worked in was at LEAST 30 % hispanic but they rarely collect any welfare!

by sheer numbers of people - more whites are on welfare than other groups - blacks have a higher percentage on welfare in relation to their total population. I don't know what the data is on Hispanics.

@@denacrescini1990 A Department of Agriculture report from November estimated that 35.7% of SNAP recipients in the 2018 fiscal year were white, 25.1% were Black, 16.7% were Hispanic, 3% were Asian, and 1.5% were Native American (0.8% were listed as multiple races, while 17.4% were listed as "race unknown" - now Blacks are 13 percent of the population but 25.1 percent of the welfare recipients - which means that in sheer numbers, there are more whites on welfare - but as a proportion of the population, a larger percentage of the black population are on welfare as compared to the percentages of whites. That statement is simply data points which apparently, you are too stupid to understand. The data is neither racist nor patriotic - accusing people of racism simply for stating true facts and data points just illustrates that you are a total moron. Congrats.

The GOP is brainwashed into following Trump hoping he will create the America of 1957 (the Leave it to Beaver era). AOC and her followers are brainwashed into thinking that an all powerful and coercive Stalinist government such as the old Soviet Union or Cuba will magically solve all the problems of inequity, etc. They don't really think about the negatives (and there are many) because they know that it won't apply to them as the apparatchiks or the new order. So in a hypothetical battle of wits, they cancel each other out.

I worked 24-32 hours per week in college, and I needed FoodShare to get through nursing school. I graduated six years ago with my bachelors and recently finished my masters. I’m going to pay more into the system in the long run than I ever got out it. I just needed a leg up, like many college students. It’s hard to get a job at 18-23 that will work around your school schedule and pays a living wage. As much as my parents wanted to help, my dad lost his job right after my freshman year. Growing up financially stable and upper middle class to worrying about paying your own bills is like a fish on dry land. It blows my mind how selfish people are and how easy they forget what it’s like to struggle to make ends meet. It’s humbling, and I think that everyone should have an experience like that. I am more than ok with paying my fair share of taxes. If I can help someone else than I’m more than happy to do so. I’m not wealthy, especially with student loans, but I make a good living.

I understand the point you are making - this is the problem for many folks including me - I don't like the traditional GOP philosophy of cutting people programs and throwing the 99 percent into the street - but I don't agree with the hypocritical democrats who on the one hand covertly support the 1 percent but impose weirdo ideas on average folks like defund the police which will lead to anarchy - pitting races and identities against each other and imposing weird sexual moeurs into the schools. In addition under liberal education regimes, the kids can't read, write, do maths or any other practical skills. Therefore, there is no political party that represents me - that pisses me off - unfortunately our system doesn't allow for healthy third party alternatives leaving us with the unpleasant choice of not voting or voting for the lesser of two evils.

@zappafan11 The VA is funded through the federal government. I never said VA Benefits are welfare. Boebert said benefits and welfare. Aside from that The United States has six major welfare programs: TANF, Medicaid, CHIP, SNAP, EITC, Supplemental Security Income, and housing assistance. Should people in need give up SSI, CHIP and Medicaid? Who were Lauren Boebert's commitment directed towards when she said "we?" Is she going to give up the benefits she receives as a congresswomen?

We liberals are happy to save money by not giving it to people who do not want it. We will happily use unemployment benefits, social security, minimum wage, federal emergency aid, and any other aid when we need it. I never understood Americans who complain about the evils of "socialism" yet benefit from programs clearly designed to help the poor lift themselves from extreme poverty.

Boebert explicitly describes a situation that she lived through in which government welfare programs helped her to get through a difficult period of her life and allowed her to become a Congressperson. Then...she vilifies the very programs that helped her get to where she is today. The cognitive dissonance required to believe that's in any way logical is astounding.

Yup Mo did it too. Guess what? IT DIDNT increase job hiring. Ppl dont want low paying jobs with risk of a maybe deadly virus. They went 2 different careers and moved away. Or are holding out for better jobs. So by removing UE and extra 300 they just keep the poor poor. My state is 320 a week. Which isnt enough for anyone. Its disgusting. They sure didnt stop the federal aid to their donors

I read a similar story about a republican whose family got farm subsidies from the government when he grew up. Then 30 years later he strongly argued that farm subsidies should end. Just disgusting....
