Every time I see Aoko in this outfit, and her doing the finger gun move, I'm reminded of Chaper Black saga Yusuke Urameshi.

People say Aoko's design is bland as heck but her design got me into Melty and by extension fighting games (along with Calamity Trigger). I'm glad to have my main character back.

btw the untranslated part at the start roughly translates to "My name is Aozaki Aoko. My occupation is - magician, or something like that". for a very brief crash course, there's a big difference between a magician and a magus in this world. Magus basically apply science to their magecraft - it needs a power source, it needs to have foundation and rationality behind it. Magicians don't - their magic is completely unique to them only and cannot be fundamentally broken down the way magecraft can. You are seeing one of 2 confirmed magicians in the entire lore of this game.

According to MajinObama, who was going over her Japanese notes on stream today, she gets triple jump and double air dash _normally_ and _quadruple jump and triple air dash_ while in Moon Drive. Enjoy that movement, guys.

Goddammit. I kept (half-)joking that Aoko will NEVER make it in, but here she is, way earlier than I expected. While it was never a matter of “if”, only “when”, it was a certainly a pleasant surprise and a FANTASTIC new year’s gift.

She is kicking a lot more. Even some of her specials and ex that normally used her hand now is in a kick like her Blazing Starmine EX

After reading Witch of the Holy Night, it's hard to believe that this laid-back cheerful mentor is the same grouchy tsundere who appeared in that game (Guess that fighting Touko DID change her after all)
