I think Megatron is a big cybertronian beast, not a car to scale and the bigger is the better. So I prefer him next to my Black apple prime. But I am afraid about the joints. I like paint and shape more than wj, but I don't trust in Black mamba quality... Still not decided which one purchase

Not to say anything bad but personally I do believe to DOTM Optimus is closer to screen height as prime was never really punching his waist but at the same time I don’t think anyone has made one perfectly in between those two yet

Awesome review again Ben! I like that you always show size comparisons in your reviews. Helps a lot for me to decide which 3rd party versions I want to get. I was leaning more towards the Weijiang one but is quite difficult to get it from where I am. So I just decided to get the Aoyi BmB one, since this is what you also like the most.

They're re-releasing this and I decided to preorder, even having seen this video before, with the hopes that the materials used for the re-re are better now. We'll see. I won't even bother trying to transform it unless I see a review of the new release that says the materials are much stronger and there weren't any breaks.

There are so many options now it’s hard to figure out which one to go with. I ended up getting this guy as I can not find the honey badger version anywhere. Compared to the original MPM prime he definitely seems to big, but compared to jazz and even the new MPM star scream he seems perfect.

My nitro Zeus had a shoulder that wouldn't connect. That was my first bmb figure so it got me off to a rocky start. Since then they've all been good.

My opinion, the exact meg-prime scale is this figure with BMB Prime. In movies prime is not that small and he is quite the opponent for meg.

The wei jiang version is a nice balance between the official scale chart and how we saw them in the movie

Actually the wei jiang megatron (who is 36 cm roughly making him 1/29 scale) perfectly fits as it is with wei jiang optimus (who is 29 cm which makes him 1/29 scale, that same scale).

Jfigs94 you’re right, that’s because the wei jiang optimus and wei jiang megs are the same scale. So not only does it look like they do In the movie, they also scale perfectly according to the model sheets (both figures are 1/29 scale)

Yeah the difference in height between the two is 7 to 8 feet, so Optimus wouldn't be at Megatron's waist.

I had a little piece of my wei jiang version underneath his head just break off too. I can't find where it came from luckily. Just handling and moving them does cause some minor breakage. Don't buy if you can't live with it I guess? The sharp points on these cybertronian movie bots are brittle and easy to break. That's what makes these figures hard to enjoy and more art work than toys. If you mess with them most likely you're gonna get some snaps. Oh well.

That qc is a shame. The figure looks amazing, but it looks like BM cheaped out on the plastic. If that much broke off straight out of the box, you can definitely expect more to break off. Hopefully another company makes a Megs with a similar paint scheme to this. Maybe Weijang Black Apple would be a good choice since their MPM Prime was amazing.

I don't know if it's poor plastic quality.. the way he talks, it seems more like it could be that the reviewer who had that specific product sample before him, was just to ruff with the figure while it was in their possession.

I have it in hand 4 months after this review and the qc is good on mine. Ben might’ve gotten an early sample of this release which would explain those instant few breakages.

Autobot666 wasn’t worth it , check audience watch rate and 87% watched in 1080p , my videos after editing are usually around the 6gb mark , when they were 4K they were 11-12gb and uploading on RU-vid was terrible

just an fyi, the back piece on this version actually rotates down so that piece doesn’t stick up from his back from behind his head. that should help the backpack tab in.

I do t know I think the wj scale is way to small. If he’s only 6 feet smaller he should be close to his shoulders. It almost looked dumb. In the movie he wasn’t even that much smaller then negation.
