Michael Plumridge don’t be to hard on yourself! the exams were super weird this year and not at all what we prepared for all year long. also ap hu geo is a really hard class and you should be proud to have gotten all the way through it.
Was this the first year I took an AP test? Yes. Did our teacher only prepare us for multiple choice until they announced an essay? Yes. Did I some how pass with a 4? Yes. Did all my really smart friends get 3s? Yes, but I some how got a 4? I think the whole system this year was wack. But APUSH some how pulled through.
I honestly don't feel that prepared for AP US Gov. My teacher barely practiced the MCQs and didn't practice any FRQs or the essay. I have an A in the class but that's because his assignments are just simple word for word fill the blanks from the book. And he didn't even go over the book in class. Instead he just shows us news videos in class. It's really frustrating having to do all this self studying thanks to this lazy teacher. And my college requires at least a 4 on the exam to earn credit for it. I just hope I can at least pass the exam. I got a 4 on APUSH last year but that was because I had a much better teacher and it was also only one DBQ essay, and I got a prompt that I understood very well. But this year is looking kinda rough. By far the worst AP teacher I've had. I would've felt a lot more confident with a teacher who actually cared about the exam.
@@andrealopez1294 well, I actually transferred schools in the middle of the year, so I actually went from Pre-AP world history to straight AP world history, and the periods and timeliness were off and I hadn't learned the materials the new class went over, so it was very much challenging for me. But if you take two semesters worth of the class and not just one semester like I had, you should do phenomenal!
This was my first year of AP and I somehow pulled all 5s. I took Bio and Euro. It was so weird having my first AP tests in the online formats but I guess it worked out🤷♀️
h3ll0k1tty b Im so glad to hear your taking the class is it my absolute favorite. To prepare for the AP exam I used the RU-vid teacher Tom Richey A LOT. I also used there barons AP study book for euro and used all the previous year exam questions that I could get my hands on. For me, I found that it was all about test practice and repetition of that so I could find my routine. Everyone is different so find what works for you, you have so much time until your exam to figure it out! Good luck🥳
I got a 4 on APUSH and a 5 on AP Calculus AB which I'm pretty happy with since those were my first two AP classes ever and I was a 14 year old sophomore when I took them in May.
They really nailed the four-k in with all those fours, but I think now you’re entirely done with your experience with the College Board!! That’s one thing to look forward to!
dude i honestly think the way this year's exams were graded was b.s... i'm a freshman so i only took ap gov this year and i got a 5. for context, i was not super confident in my answers and i found the class's work load to be overwhelming since i just started high school. i got the hang of later on but since i was inexperienced i thought i was going to get a 3 or 4, only a 5 if the odds were in my favor. i'm sure you probably did better than me, but still congrats on passing all of your exams and getting into stanford!
A freshman in AP Government....😳 I honestly cannot imagine that. I am a Junior and I only have 3 AP classes this year. Freshman year I had none, and last year I had one (AP World History). But congratulations!!!! A five is really good!!! I got a 4 on AP World.
I completely expected all 3s and if a 0 was possible that on chem cause I only took it cause he forced us and I knew NOTHING and I did get a 1 in chem but to my surprise a 5 in English and 3 in psychology! Passing is really the biggest accomplishment I can get since I choke during most tests but English being my first and probably only 5 ever is INCREDIBLE
🤔I always wonder if the more APs you take, the more 4 you're going to get.... It's super weird. I got three 4s out of five this year. And I my friend got four 4s out of five. I heard also a guy who took lots of AP s this year got lots of 4s too. Whatever, your strength of taking 8 APs really makes me admire!👍🏼
Last year I took the AP Calc AB exam and didn’t really know what I was doing at all and felt horrible about the test and got a 3, this year I studied a lot more and felt as though I was better prepared and I took the BC exam and got a 2. Calculus is the only AP class offered at my school so i’ll just have to live with it
im sorry to hear things didnt work out the way you hoped. if youre still interested in taking ap classes, you should try looking at virtual high school courses
I felt this way too...I got a 3 on ap exam and a 4 on ap world history. I studied months for ap chem and I think the fact that there was no multiple choice really affected scores this year
I got a 3 in AP government because although I knew the test questions for a 5 I completely messed up the FRQ. If I only did one or two practice FRQs I would make at least a 4. I did do that for my AP comparative test which is harder (and which I took later on the make up date) and I got a four. My stress and laziness is killing me sometimes. Good job on taking 8 AP in one year and passing all of them though!!
me and my 3 in ap stats looking at all the comments of people who got fours and fives like 🧿👄🧿 but honestly i'm fine with it because i just needed to pass in order to not take math at all in college😌
Last year I got a 2 in AP World. Got kind of pissed at myself. Took AP Calc AB, got a 5 surprisingly and took AP US History and got a 3 which kind of surprised me. I'm just glad my math skills worked out
Just subbed. Really enjoy these videos. I’m not that smart but I’m taking my first AP this year which is chemistry. I feel confident but it’s all online so I’m not sure. Anyways love these videos
I got a 5 in Stat and 5 in Euro, my first two AP classes as a sophomore; but when they announced that Stat would have no calculators, thus no good math-that was a top ten anime betrayal. Then Euro has to go and have the audacity to be a DBQ. Also I wrote 753 words for euro but 800 something for stat, the premium writing class.
스테파니 Stephanie 조셉 I took Seminar last year and it's my favorite AP to date! The best advice I can give you is to choose your groups wisely, depending on who you work with on the group presentation/paper can get you from just passing to actually excelling. Also remember to prepare for your oral defense by referencing the questions list on the AP Seminar exam description. I recommend using SlidesGo templates to make your individual and group presentations engaging too :)
I took it this yr and got a 4. It's not too hard, just a lot of info to know as well as knowing how to connect different time periods especially to various historical contexts.
@@gusrhee6243 yea id assume your'e a sophmore taking it (i took it 10th grade) and its actually really easy... its alot of writing though but that prepares you for ap us history
It is such an amazing class!!! Even if you don't want to take the AP exam or get College credit, I would really recommend you take it.👌 It is beautiful... simply beautiful. And it really changes your perspective on how you view history (it changed mine at the very least).
@@weirdflex8158 Wow that was very rude of you. I know you are just doing this for attention, or to bring me down, and I’m feeding into it, but was that necessary? If I said I studied three hours a day for literal weeks leading up to the exam, would you believe me? It doesn’t matter because I still got a three during a pandemic and I’m proud of that. Not everyone can breeze through college level classes in high school. Cut people some more slack.
Hey Lour, did you self study for these? All I can imagine that made getting 4s (no less) possible was having ample time taking at least two to three practice tests for each. I'm anyways a finishing senior, so I'm done as well. Nice video!
This guy actually called his ap calc score trash bro I got a 3. But hey, you committed to Stanford so it makes sense you hold yourself to a high standard.
I took my first AP exam this year (AP Human Geography) the class was really easy for being AP. Too bad my first AP test was online but I managed to get a 4 somehow!!
Got 5s in both chem n stats, kinda proud of that. But like all of my friends got 5s and they did more ap tests... like one of them took 6 exams and got five 5s and one 4 (on seminar lowest 5 rate). Now I kinda don’t feel as proud anymore :((
kinda felt that. I had 4 exams, 5s in AP calc AB and lang, 4s in seminar and chem. I was so proud but my friend got straight 5s on the same exams plus APUSH. I’m wanting to be a STEM major and it kind of hurt that I got a 4 in chem and she’s going into law with a 5 in everything.
I did so well in the AP Microeconomics Practice Free Response Questions.....got an A in that class...prepped the whole entire quarantine time....also almost always had one of the highest test scores in that period...and my instructor even said I might get a 5....and yet I got less than a 3 on the exam. Talk about being a let-down aaaaaah
@@LourDrickValsote thank you so much!! I was kinda down about it for awhile, but I decided that I should do my best instead in the SATs to make up for it!!
Do you recommend taking AP physics C mechanics or starting with AP physics? I took AP chem my junior year and I really want to take an AP physics class, but I’m conflicted because I don’t have any Physics background but I’ve been studying for the past month.
Typically physics c is a 2nd year physics class, but some schools allow you to take it if you’re taking calc or already taken it. I’m a junior this year and I’m taking bc calc and mechanics plus e/m and I took physics over the summer and it really helped, but they reteach you mechanics in physics c
@@BlueTurtle23 Honestly I'd just recommend maybe the first few units of physics on khan academy, my ig is @abbhhhiiii_k feel free to hit me up with any questions
Ik this video was a while back but it’s so cool how you got into Stanford. Tbh, I also tend to be better towards the humanity side as well but my math and science are lacking. Maybe if my GPA was better and I did more extracurriculars, I would probably have a chance of getting into these top colleges. But thx for showing me you don’t have to be a Stem genius to get into these cuz I kinda believe that for some stupid reason.
Bruh I feel you, I took 6 AP tests, Calc AB, APUSH, Physics C Mech, Physics C E&M, Lang, and Stat, and I got 5 4s and a 3 on E&M... I’m kinda disappointed ngl, but I still have one more year left to try I guess
Hi- you probably won't see this but should I be worried about getting 4s on AP exams? Do you think it was a key factor in your admission? What were your scores like when you submitted them to Stanford?
My first exams as a freshman were AP Bio and Human Geography and got 3s on both. I’m pretty happy with that because to be honest I didn’t study at all. So it just makes me mad that if I had studied I probably would have got a 4. But at least I got credit...
It was my first AP exam and I got a 2 cause my teacher did a horrible job of teaching us how to write DBQs. Also, how poorly do colleges look at you for failing an AP exam?
I got motivation to check my scores from your video. I took AP Bio and AP Gov this year. I expected a 1 for AP Bio and a 4 for AP Gov. I got a 3 for AP Bio and a 1 for AP Gov. They don't make sense. At all.
Got a 2 in gov 😔 worst part about it was I misread part of the question which really failed me 😭 that’s why I didn’t like the format. Only 2 free response questions, and u fail if u answer 1 incorrectly
I just got my scores and made a video on my channel too! 💖💞This year was so so crazy. I feel like they graded a lot harder lmao. I also took AP Art. Congrats!!!
i got a 4 on lang and a 2 on apes 😀 first year of ap and my apes teacher was brand new to both teaching AND ap, and i’m an idiot because i’m taking 6 this year
I feel like everyone has 4s and 5s when I’m here getting a 3 on Calc BC and a 1 on CSA. Studied a few weeks in advance, but I couldn’t get the hang of the CSA FRQs for the life of me. Just blanked out 😔
Bruh I worked my ass off for my ap comp sci written exams and got a 1 and I just got it in September. I wish I knew why but they don't say. My friend barely got 2 pages of info and was basically bullshitting and stretching it out, he even said that he did terrible cause he wrote it the night of the due date at 10pm. the dude got a 3 along with a friend who skipped part of the written exam. Couldn't evan be mad but now it's a inside joke that I will never live down
