[EDIT] Thank you so much for over 100,000 views! England... and England... and oh look! more England! :D I don't own the pictures, or the music (Which happens to be Into the Woods by Cilla Jane...) or Hetalia.
Wait... WAIT A BLOODY MINUTE. This song really fits England. You know why? "I saw an owl and he told me that he was wise" I think that this represents Rome, when it colonized Britannia. I think that Rome tried to deceive England into surrendering, saying deceitful words. "I saw a fox and he told me to run away and hide" Scotland, anyone?? Scotland definitely fits the image of a fox, you know. And he's gonna protect his wee bairn, right? "Take your chances, run and hide" Rome is powerful, and England and Scotland are just young nations at that time period. And I don't think that an angry Rome is a pleasant thing. "I saw a deer and (s)he told me that (s)he was free" Ireland. Need I say more? "Stay a while, don't be afraid." Up to you.
This song means alot to me, It has calmed me down and helped me stop crying when my grandfather died four years ago, and a year shortly after that my grandmother died and I cried and again this song comforted me, when my little brother was in an accident he went into accoma and I listened to this song and l sang it to him every day I was there even after he woke up, and now my sweet, caring, loving
is this odd? But this is how I see this, When he found the the Wise Owl, It was baby Alfred When he found the fox, It was Alfred, (teen) telling him to run and hide, and him wanting to split away from from (Revoulution) When he found the deer, It was America, free and brave. :) No Idea why i image that. :)
Haha, just about everyone I that know would love to move out of America wants to move to the England. There are a few others I know that wants to move to Japan though (and one of them successfully achieved his dreams of settling in Japan). XD
I haven't heard this song since I was ten, and now that I see it with my favourite anime, the awesome levels are off the charts. Thank you for making this and giving me a sense of nostalgia.
I completely forgot about this song! I was absolutely obsessed with it when this video first came out. That was such a long time ago, I'm so glad that this is still up.
Iggs was alone for so long, yet other nations wonder why he's so jaded. He's seen it all, been beaten to a pulp time and time again, and when he did open up and try to love someone (America) he wrestled away and left him in the mud. All England knows is that force equals power, and power equals survival. It's so deeply engraved by his childhood, he cannot escape it, and America and most other nations cannot truely understand. Good job by the way!
My favorite thing about this video is the fact that it shows a dragon when it say "I saw an owl" and at first I was like oh that's because there weren't any pictures of England with a owl probably, and then you see that there was a picture of him with an owl. I just laughed so hard because of that.
How I got here: 1. I was watching a Warrior Cats AMV with the same song. 2. I searched for the song with lyrics. 3. I found it and watched it. 4. Then I found this AMV at the suggested videos-list. - I truly adore the AMV
So if you watch, then you may become wise from what you see and experence; if you hunt, then you become paranoied, you close yourself off from anything that could possibly hurt you; and if you don't do harm to other things, then you're vonderable, but you can enjoy the freeness of your heart and mind, take confort in the beautiful things in life. ~This video has struck a cord with me, I can't seem to stop watching it. ~What creature did England learn from?
Mother died last month and I listen to this song every day and it helps me smile. Thank you so much for making this video it helps me through everyday that she is gone
FFFFFFF- i can't believe someone actually took this beautifule song that i love and put with England! It's a masterpeice! It makes me sad though...especially with that top comment...
wow i have always liked england (in reality) and after watching hetalia, i liked even more, and now i watvhed the video i confirmed that i love him! Arthur+forest+creatures= the best fairytale ever!
...wow. i didn't even like England before, but now he's my second favorite, just from this. I don't know what it is about this song, this character, these pictures...it was almost like an out of body experience where I just connected the first time I watched this. This is probably my 100,000th view or something, but it never ceases to amaze me.
Well...going by actual history (which Hetalia seems to be following pretty closely canonically) England was surrounded by enemies and ulterior factions constantly, desperately fighting to establish itself as a power that wouldn't be dominated by other countries. So by that logic, Iggy is already horribly damaged and emotionally closed off. Then Iggy finds America who is the only person in the entirety of Hetalia we see him completely open his heart to. Then America kind of...stomps on it. Ouch?
Well.. My persepective of the song is the owl= To a poor leader, Fox= Loved one saying to leave, Deer= A "Safe" person, or place, Woods= The world, and the end of the song she dies.
maybe. but, he's still really young. He's only been around for 520 years (since discovery) compared to Italy's 1617 (since dissolution of Roman Empire), England's 2067years (since recognized by Roman Empire), France's whopping 2612 years (since first city created), or China's crazy 3812 years (since first dynasty) (and i looked these up, i swear)
Yeah, Elizabeth I employed the use of pirates during the fighting with Spain, plus I think it's sort of a representation of just how much control the British had over the sea during the days of the Empire. The creatures are more to do with the rich folklore of Britain. As for the cooking, thats more a sterotype. British food is quite bland compared to some other countries such as Italy and France, where more emphasis was put on presentation rather then the British way of just eating to live.
My favorite characters are the Axis and Allies, they act somewhat like me.America=Cheerful and loud Russia=scary but somewhat cruel England=Loves books and is horrible at cooking etc.
@MissGobstoperGirl : I agree with you on the first two but I beleive that the deer is death. I think this because death is freedom, well in a sense. I also agree with you on the woods, although I beleive that that means birth also.
This....is....ASDFGHJJKLASJGKALHFDLA AMAZING!!!! I LOVE YOU MARRY ME I DONT CARE WHAT GENDER YOU ARE OR HOW OLD OR HOW YOU LOOK THIS VIDEO IS OBVIOUSLY A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL. NAO. I WILL RIDE AWAY ON MY UNICORN AND WAIT FOR THE WEDDING DATE.
TT^TT This made me cry. seriously. (or maybe there were just ninjas cutting onions and blowing dust to my eyes. XD) I just don't understand why everyone keeps on mocking him. (Yes, I know that his scones taste bad. But they shouldn't be rude. England has feelings.) I love england forever♥ Belated happy birthday to him! >w<
To be fair, they've both inflicted quite a lot of damage on each other, America's War of Independence being the prime example. As actual countries it seems to have been a good thing in the long run, but England got his heart broken by America, and America still can't seem to get over him either (yes, Hetalia is a comedy, right? That storeroom episode was bloody emotional whiplash! My mind is still hurting!)
