Part 4 of 5! We'll be tackling a big one today: Belief Systems.
This key can apply to many things in life, and not only just the development of visual imagery. Truly, something is not possible until we think it can be done. Along with having it be a mindset, there's also scientific evidence within neuroscience that clearly demonstrates that the brain is quite adept at rewiring and changing itself. Alright, here we go!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is part four of a 5-part series in which I will detail some of the main keys that led me to develop ways to affect the mind's eye. Whether you're experiencing aphantasia and want to experience phantasia, phantasia going to hyperphantasia, or whatever else, I hope these keys prove invaluable to your process. There's only one episode left to go!
My ultimate hope with this keys series is that you can watch these videos, and form a practice for yourself around the concepts. It will take some creativity, it will take some dedication. But this series describes the main concepts behind the methods I've created. My actual exercises, I'm reserving for my programs, but you could absolutely get to some of the same conclusions I did.
Please like, comment, share, subscribe, if you find value here!

As an art student it was really heartbreaking when I first found out that other people could imagine vivid images in their minds. I probably fall between aphantasia and phantasia, what my mind comes up are only extremely blurry silhouettes that disappear after half a second. It could really help to create better drawings and compositions if I could imagine clearly. Your channel really gave me a sense of hope, I felt way better and confident after watching your videos. I will definitely give the methods a try and write you an update if I see changes. Thank you so much for having empathy, and devoting so much time and research towards people like us.

You're so welcome! I'm happy to hear that my materials gave you some hope, and I'll stand with you that they will give you even more than just hope! Yes, please keep me posted with how your progress goes! Drawing from the field of conscious creation (Law Of Attraction), a belief is a thought that you think over and over again. So by returning to a new thought over and over again that we want to turn into a belief, and by making an effort to believe it even for just a moment, we build the belief in it over time.

Totally! And belief systems will dictate our conscious experience 😺

For rewiring the brain and changing your belief systems I would recommend reading or listening to Dr Joe Dispenza's books, Evolve Your Brain and Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself. And, to get into the best brainwave state for programming the subconscious mind (Theta brainwaves) I would recommend listening to binaural beats with theta waves on RU-vid whilst meditating.

You know I was thinking that belief is simply an aspect of phantasia an imagining it’s perception in the for front of our minds rather than the peripheral, like when you catch yourself not being able to recognize a simple object your mind fills in the gaps and you thought you saw something else.. But then I wonder what if that is unique to people with a “functioning” minds eye

Interesting to hear of another aphant who didn't experience their senses in their dreams. I've tried getting rid of my aphantasia at first, and though I do get some involuntary things like green flashes with nice music, hypnogogic imagery, I stopped trying to change this a while ago. I'm happy for anyone who this works for, maybe it'll work well, maybe it'll take a while, but there are many things you can do with and without aphantasia, just live your best life :)

I totally agree! Indeed, I hope that there are some people experiencing aphantasia who choose to stay in it, because we need all different types of thinkers!

I’m sorta confused about something. Will images put themselves overlaid on the black space, or is it more like thinking the scenes. Cause I have a great imagination (I can think scenes and see many details feeling the whole scene at once) but nothing ever projects itself onto the black space. Rather it’s more like I’m being the scene in my mind.

Hello there, I am a graphic designer and did Art school. It was also a shock for me to find out at the age of 50 that I have some form (vorm) of Aphantasia. I have a lot of questions, one of them is ... blind people have developed (in general), a remarkably good hearing. Deaf people are likely to have the ability to pick up non-verbal signals. Do people with Aphantasia also develop additional skills?
@GORCDC
@GORCDC 3 года назад
That's a great question, Mike! For now, we simply do not have enough data as a scientific community to tell whether or not the experience of aphantasia yields additional skills

Are all aphantasic people like me? I have no visual memories through my entire life, like it's all words if that makes any sense, I have no "REAL" memories
@Noctifern

My memories aren't like playbacks with visual images like normal people
@GORCDC
@GORCDC 4 года назад
People who describe aphantasia will experience their memories in a variety of ways. But that's correct, typically people who experience aphantasia will not be able to recall memories in a visual sense. Though, they may be able to recall the emotion, the sounds, the space, etc, of those memories

@@GORCDC sorry for spamming all your videos haha, I'm a bit freaked by this, I feel like I'm missing so much, I'm going to persist and see my memories, I can do this. Also my brother for sure has it, and my mother might as well, at least I'm not alone in this

@@Noctifern hey. Im pretty late but. Do you mean that you cant remember what anything looked like in your memory? I mean that if you saw a yellow wall yesterday, you can remember it with words like "it was a yellow wall" but you cant imagine the picture of it in your head? I can see nothing but black when i close my eyes and think about a yellow wall, but I can still imagine a picture of the yellow wall. Hard to explain but you know I still cant SEE it physically in my mind
