I'm using music in my sessions. There is a big debate about using music in a healthcare centre. The results so far are: overall reduction in depression, anxiety and increase in happiness, motivation and cognitive improvement. I like it and they like it too!

@@beyondhighc Thank you. Here's what one of the camps they put on is like @ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BaPJUBrCp8Y.html .... They have a bunch of SLP students and physical therapy students come out for it. It's a way for them to give back to the volunteers (with aphasia) who work with the University students and it's great for the people with aphasia because it gives them a sense of community and solidarity with others ... and the caregivers. Keep up the great work.

I currently care for a 41 year old woman that has been neurologically disabled after a stay in the hospital back in 2010. . The so called medical professionals claimed that she would never be aware again.. She developed a stage 4 pressure ulcer on her tailbone region. Nobody ever has survived a wound this severe.. It took 3 years to heal.. The so called medical professionals also said she would never breathe on her own. Next month will be 11 years and she is definitely much more aware now after sleeping at night with relaxing brain music.. I also am able to hypnotize her and get her in a deep state of sleep.. She's trying to talk.. I need help in learning the tools to get her to try and talk..

Hello Lesley- I am sorry you have some paralysis :(. Beleive it or not, I think very good breath support can help quite a bit, to get your voice heard better. I wonder if you could be sure you are taking good breaths and supporting your voice with your core muscles and sing very short notes along with music you hear (not trying to hold them out?) I have watched people I get to work with go from not understandable to understandable doing this.
