Loved this back in '98 High School! At Lunch we'd leave the grounds to play Apocalypse for 15 mins and get high. It was released the same year as the Legendary games; Half-Life, Metal Gear Solid, Ocarina of Time and Resident Evil 2. Yet as a B tier PS1 game, Apocalypse, still to this day, one of my faves.
i was confused cause i was maybe 9 . and i thought this was a bruce willis movie i didnt see . i was lookin for it on video. i couldnt wrap my brain round bruce in a game not bout a movie .

4:03 Homie, you're overthinking the fuck out of this. It's PS1's only proper CONTRA style experience, with Bruce Willis as the lead. That's all it is. The story is just an excuse to have you blow things up. They literally wrapped a story around what they had to work with after the first version of the game was dropped. That's why there's all the weird stuff with dialogue and short cutscenes. They were just stitching together what they could from the old story to make this thing work. It is a prime example of style over substance. It's also a lot of fun.
