God, I just sidewaysed in to this. I had never heard of this band until tonight. I'm 46 years old, and I have lived through several eras of rock. This is like someone woke up old man classical and he stood up and said "This is how you rock it kinder"! Just effin great!
Apocalyptica has some badass cello players, but their drummer often stands out to me the most in several songs. His rhythms are insane. Definitely one of my favorite drummers.
I think i've just found my favorite band. THIS is music, and this takes skill. I'd LOVE to see more of this style emerge. I've never seen something so classically powerful, yet modern all at once. SIMPLY AMAZING. bravo.
La canciós es epica! Y el video también es epico!, la mamera en que todas las banderas de casi todas las naciones del mundo danzan alrededor de esta banda tan increible! Apocalyptoca, mis respetos..
There is nothing else to say except FInland has put out THE BEST MUSIC in the last decade and are kicking ass in every genre... This performance was AFUCKINGMAZING!
OMG i synced the video with my itunes and discovered that all of these guys are 100% exact in every note and even the drummer is 100% really great musicians great band hope they keep throwing awsome music
I am not so sure, tbh. But anyway, to keep answering the first comment, playing in rythm is really nothing, especially when you play to a click track :D
It sucks not because it's not played live, I don't think anyone doubts their talent or the quality of this piece. It sucks because they still pretend to play it live, it's a lie and people usually aren't cool with that, myself included.
Lástima que hayan tenido que hacer un flayback, seguro en vivo el sonido hubiera tenido dificultades, pero la canción es hecha por ellos... y ellos son unos maestros! very nice!!!
First time i heard these guys was 2006.. i was fucking mesmorized .. the concept of taking cello's and making them sexy ...... brilliant. Put your child in Music School
Absolutely LOVE this group! Cant wait to see them live! And tell your grandmother to get over herself! If she doesnt like to watch them, close her eyes! Im a grandmother too, and they are awesome!!!
I just got a cello and started to play because of them. Well, not because of them...but i after i met the band and found lots of interesting things about cello, i just got this feeling i had to learn and compose on my own. My mind got priceless benefits.
I headbanged at some mettalica concerts back in the late 80's and also in the early 90's and the next morning when I woke up my neck was killing me. These guys must have MASSIVE neck aches the whole day after one of the concerts. I bet no one ever imagined headbangin to 4 chellos before.
I wish one day 2Cellos will watch carefully the Apocalyptica performances, cry in a dark corner and stop its career. Hallelujah, Apocalyptica! Hello from 2021.
Well I agree fully. But to their defence it must be said that this was in the opening ceremonies of the athletic WC an their's was only one of the several acts. Everyone had to do their thing in playback for technical reasons.
Ca déménage ,je ne m'attendais pas à voir des violoncelles dans ce rôle , mais qu'est-ce que c'est bon !....Merci à Apocalyptica pour leur talent et d'avoir su donner un nouvelle voie à cet instrument !.... autre
the fact that antero plays sitting down and with the glasses makes it even more intense, haha. and plus he's the one playing the main melody! so sad that he doesn't tour with apocalyptica anymore... just saw them in boston a few days ago and it was awesome!
It is clear why, that kind of scenario that difficult to install several microphones, even if you have hired them thought it was an ordinary rock band.
I wish Apocalyptica would return to St. Louis or Chicago (U.S.) .. I am really wanting to see another live performance.. The last I had seen Apocalyptica was on August 31, 2010.. at the "Pageant" in St. Louis, MO. Touring with "Dir En Grey" One of the best concerts I have seen to this date, and in recent years..
Apocalyptica rokcks, the drum set is great i love the bass to be hitted with the stick. It makes it heavyer and soft at the same time. Being a drummer of apocalyptica would so freecking awesome.
I believe it was prerecorded. If you watch *very* closely, the music starts before Eicca Toppinen's bow starts moving. This could be a typical RU-vid audio/video synch error, but in a venue of this size the instruments would have to be amplified and I see no cables or wireless transmitters on them anywhere, or microphones on the drum kit for that matter.
