Guys, I'm glad you're interested in this video. But this isn't the only thrashy space disaster. Because of people's stupidity or inhumanity, there's a lot of thrashy happenings going on right now. But to tell all of them to you I need your help, I do not ask a lot, just subscribe and watch new videos. Thank you.

I cannot say we did and cannot say we didn't and remain 'open-minded' but please consider this, as if you were on a court case jury where all you have to have is 'a reasonable doubt": Considering the time frame between this Jan 1967 disaster and the Oct 1968 'Apollo 7' mission and whether this truly allowed them to fully redesign, check, test and manufacturer everything (considering the stories behind Grissom's complaints and saying he was going to tell the press about the poor construction standards of the programme they would have had to end contracts and start new contract and new R&D, etc), then considering the films Capricorn One and then Kubrick's 'possible' hints in 'The Shining' - I actually have, what for me is a 'reasonable' doubt. Nothing has yet can shift those 'doubts' and for me they remain 'reasonable' Others may scoff but, all the defence counsel in a trial only needs the said 'reasonable doubt' to make his case whereas those saying that something DID happen, have to prove it 'beyond all reasonable doubt'. For me, simply point the Hubble telescope at the moon, show the remaining parts of the LEM craft still there and this would remove MY, personal; doubts. SO I hope they did, but, nonetheless, and irrespective of my 'conspiracy theory' nature I respect and observe that there are many truly brave people around and re this video it is sad that they were exposed to lack of design and basic scientific thought re oxygen and a spark which we were all taught in school ansd which is not and was not 'rocket science'.

@@Jules-4367 wait what - you looked for evidence in 2 of many fictional films that a particular director made and that gives you "reasonable doubt"? If you ever get called for jury service please decline on the grounds of insufficient ability
@Jules-4367
@Jules-4367 2 месяца назад
@@bestbehave 🤔 I wasn't sure from your obviously-considered and well-constructed reply whether or not to respond and enter into a battle of wits with you, as my parents always said I shouldn't attack an unarmed man, but let's go for it! I didn't solely base my doubt on fictional films as they are purely circumstantial evidence and can be argued as pure fiction or, alternatively, a way to alert people that there may have been an alternative reality. No, I based my reasonable dooubts on things such as (as in my orignal reply but perhaps you missed it) I personally don't believe they could have re-designed and resolved all issues in the time between Apollo 1 disaster and Apollo 7 launch). However, assuming they did, the next reasonable doubt arises when you consider that with all the nay-sayers, "Buzz" Aldrin (a god-fearing man) was asked time and time again to simply place his hand on a bible and state that "I walked on the moon" and he refused EVERY time and never once would do it. People said it would give them peace and strength for him to simply affrim on the bible and as a man with faith, helping others and giving them peace should have been one of his main principles- but he continaully refused. For me there are two primary options - he didn't want to reassure people and give them peace and strength - or he couldn't make the simple statement with his hand on a bible. Therein, for me, lies a reasonable doubt. Yes, the moon landing divides opinion and it is a little bit akin to having faith and being atheist. Those with faith and believe that there is an almighty being somewhere and life ever after, often mock and verbally dismiss anyone who doesn't beileve the way THEY think. Yet all the non-believers say is 'show me your proof and i will change my opinion!" and yet the believers cannot and it transpires it is simply their 'belief'! So I have my doubts and to prove me wong (without some smart reply), just show me your concrete and unquestionable evidence and, if you cannot, then you have not proven your case and I retain a reasonable doubt! Oh, regarding being on a Jury, I have done it three times and on one of those was actually commended by the judge for the astuteness of questions passed top him during the case! So, over to you, convince me to think otherwise or, perhaps you have nothing with which you can🤔

A Halon Fire Extinguisher activation would have stopped the fire almost instantly. Bad part is, when you have 100% O2 and pressurized, nearly everything in the cockpit is heavily saturated and even normally non-flammable materials become so. Totally preventable.

A spark in a 100% pure oxygen cabin + a dooor that’s really hard to get open
@redrodtherebel6630
@redrodtherebel6630 4 месяца назад
A spark, a bunch of velcro, a leaky coolant pipe, a 100% oxygen environment at 2 psi over the outer atmospheric pressure, and a plug style cabin door that couldn’t be opened until the cabin pressure was equalized with said outside atmosphere. 2 psi over atmospheric pressure doesn’t sound like much, but once the fire broke out, it spread incredibly quickly, and the heat caused the pressure in the cabin to increase from around 17 psi to almost 30. The vents inside the cabin weren’t able to reduce the pressure quickly enough to allow the crew to open the door before parts of their suits had melted and they were exposed to the carbon monoxide fumes from the fire and asphyxiated.

The crew members were using the time to run through their checklist again, when a momentary increase in AC Bus 2 voltage occurred. Nine seconds later (at 6:31:04.7), one of the astronauts (some listeners and laboratory analysis indicate Grissom) exclaimed "Hey!", "Fire!",: 5-8  or "Flame!"; this was followed by two seconds of scuffling sounds through Grissom's open microphone. This was immediately followed at 6:31:06.2 (23:31:06.2 GMT) by someone (believed by most listeners, and supported by laboratory analysis, to be Chaffee) saying, "[I've, or We've] got a fire in the cockpit." After 6.8 seconds of silence, a second, badly garbled transmission was heard by various listeners (who believed this transmission was made by Chaffee: 5-9 ) as: "They're fighting a bad fire-Let's get out ... Open 'er up", "We've got a bad fire-Let's get out ... We're burning up", or "I'm reporting a bad fire ... I'm getting out ..." The transmission lasted 5.0 seconds and ended with a cry of pain.

Without introducing himself, the head suit spoke up. "Men, we have some news." And he began to explain that we aren't going to be able to make the Moon shot work. But we have to beat the Russians. The world is at stake. We have a plan. You guys will just take the ship to orbit and the rest we will fake. Nobody knew what to say. Von Braun looked down. They did afterward. They did multiple unmanned tests of the Saturn launch vehicles before a manned flight on Apollo 7. In January '67 NASA was feeling a bit cocky after the massively successful Mercury and Gemini programs and, with less than three years to land on the moon, were starting to cut corners in the name of speed. This tragedy was a grim reminder of the price of hubris. Quality and safety were no longer taken for granted - until 1986.

@@billythekid3234 Yep, some will say that but, equally, Virgil Grissom was causing Apollo management sleepless nights with his threats to go to the press about the poor standards he was experiencing. There is no proof and hence 'consopiracy theories' abound but, one day, one of these conspiracy theories (whereever) may have more truth than BS?

@@neilmcguinness4422 “Avoiding their suffering, belittling their sacrifice”? What on earth are you thinking. How about publicizing their autopsy photos? Look up the image of Russian generals staring at the charred biomass of cosmonaut Vladimir Komarov. Is that what you think is appropriate to honor their sacrifice.
