I am sincerely sorry to Leffen, my friends and the community for these past few years. It is time for me to confront my health issues and toxic personality traits, admit to my wrongdoings, and begin a new path towards growth.
finally, we hopefully making it back with this one. i hope u get back a healthy mental health and that the community can forgive u/ unban u without waiting something crazy like 10 years :)
Strange that Ryan Ford(Unknown522) choked someone out in a tournament, beat the spit out of his relationship partner, KirbyKaze, and is still able to go to tournaments. But the guy that makes a 3 hour video is crazy... right.... The smash community is whack lol
Can not imagine apologizing to Leffen. A good community would gatekeep toxic nuclear waste like Leffen, but I suppose it wouldn't be the melee community if it weren't so pathetic.
Unban Hax. There's people in the community still active today who threatened violence on me and goes unpunished (and seemed like they meant it), Hax never did such a thing, if he's banned then the others should have been too, there's bias and poor consistency in smash.
Hax: you’ve experienced multiple very high and very low emotions throughout this experience. I want to take a moment and ask you to please take care of yourself. If you’re experiencing regret over your past decisions now please be careful to not let that regret develop into self hatred or self harm. Prioritize stability and peace as much as possible. God bless and we’re rooting for you.
Im 35 years old. When i was a teenager i used to cut school all the time and go to the "pokemon center" in Rockefeller center and play smash melee upstairs. One day there was a little kid there who was better than most of the other people that showed up there. Me and the other best player there were impressed by the kid and we kept playing with him. The kid told us his name but i couldnt remember it and the other guy told me on the side "aziz it sounds like disease". I just realized that kid is probably you.
@@Ssethtzeentach_enjoyer yea he said isn't playing this year again and probably not the next. If the whole ban was to keep Leffen feeling safe I don't understand the point of the ban then.
Seriously. It’s telling enough that other communities in the FGC are not giving a pass to the guy. On a side note I’m glad Zero is doing better after what happened. The libel and slander put against him that initially ostracized Zero from the wider Smash scene was and still is deservedly put on Leffen to deal with. I’m just somehow amazed how milquetoast the Smash scene seems to be with tolerating the sociopathic tendencies of some individuals. Some at least were rightly ostracized sooner versus later when it came to predatory behavior. Other than that, explanations don’t have to be over-exaggerated in the way Hax initially presented it. But Leffen does not deserve an apology. It’s like any moral backbone that existed in the Melee scene just completely eroded and was replaced with the anonymity of online based culture. Or, it was never there to begin with.
@@CTomCooper it's fcking ridiculous. He is forced to gaslight himself and bend the knee to a toxic has-been that barely even plays the game anymore just so some jackass TOs will think about unbanning him (lol they won't.) This is typical no different from a Maoist struggle session. And even if these people will not budge on Hax staying banned then it is ridiculous why Leffen is not banned as well. For example committing perjury just to lie and nudge a certain Sm4sh player toward unaliving himself. In a non-clown world he would be rotting in prison let alone attending smash tournaments or winning Evos. Rules for thee and not for me, as long as you're considered one of the "cool kids" then you can get away with anything in this community.
@@lolmuffins1 A real shame. Honestly I don’t think Nintendo was wrong for staying distanced. Although that’s sort of another can of worms. Also yea, half of these comments are like a struggle session. It’s weird and deluded. Apologies are in private, not public. Public announcements are always for clout and to beg. What a weirdly twisted community to call this behavior good when it’s exactly the opposite in digging a deeper psychological pit of despair. Bad company isn’t worth the time nor validation. Anyways, cheers.
yknow I went through bullying as a kid that made me lash out and angry as a teenager. the difference was that I wasn't internet famous in anyway so I was able to learn to deal with it and get help for it without thousands of people watching. social media is a plague. I hope this apology is sincere and that you get the help you need, hax.
@@Bladieblah This very video has Hax admitting that he was fully in the wrong and has been in the wrong for the past three years. He admits he's mentally ill, and he admits that he needs professional help. The fact that after he said all that, you can just ignore everything he's saying - ignore his attempt to set on a path of self-improvement - and say he's fine just the way he is? **THAT** is what is actually condescending here. You're treating Hax like a child because you're too scared to admit that you were just as wrong as he was.
I don't really care about the leffen situation. I blocked leffen's yt channel and I don't use social media anyway so I'm not in the loop. I was just taking this video from hax at face value. He himself said he needed to apologize and get better or whatever. I've been a fan of his for a long time. @@Bladieblah
I feel so bad for Hax at this point. He is at a point where no one know why he is even banned anymore. Leffen is cool, He shows up to 1 US tourney a year. Hax isn't here to kill a top 8 player, hax is here to compete and be a nerd, let this man kill the game while leffen plays the victim for 30 years+
I wish I knew more context. I'm only familiar with Hax because of his hardware content. I truly can't even imagine a sin so heinous that someone would need to apologize to a menace like Leffen.
I have not historically been a fan of either Leffen or Hax personality wise over the years, but Hax has not demonstrated anything even remotely ban worthy in the past few years. I really hope they unban you, that you find peace and help for the very real trauma you have faced, and you can return to Melee and continue showing how passionate you are to this game. You have been a meaningful and important contributor to Melee for its lifetime, and I hope you are able to return and keep showing us the amazing competitor you are.
"I was receiving unbelievably negative reception to my video." Honestly, when you're doing something that is perceived wrong by the Smash community, that usually means you're doing something right. Sorry if this goes against the whole purpose of this video.
I understand your reasons for apologizing and respect your efforts to improve yourself as a person, but that doesn't change the fact that Leffen still is who he is.
The sides to this argument seem to be: "Hax did nothing wrong, don't apologize to Leffen!", and "Hax is schizo, stop trying to delude him into thinking he was right". I think both sides are plainly wrong, because Hax was obviously wrong in releasing his conjecture filled videos, but he was also right that Leffen deserves harsh punishment. I say that because of three key points that stuck out to me from Hax's original video: 1. Leffen has never owned up to, and has instead continuously lied about, the conduct that originally got him banned from the .zip era. Even changing one of the testimonies from .zip into a story where HE was the victim, which has been shot down by every person who was witness to it (to make this worse he said this during the 2020 Smash MeToo debaucle, trying to show he was a victim of the Smash community "not speaking up"). This definitively shows that the narrative that Leffen has changed since the time of his ban is absolutely wrong. 2. He purposefully started, and sustained a targeted harassment campaign against Hbox, and knowingly perpetuated lies about him while doing so ("One of the MANY reasons to hate HBOX" video for context). This lead to Hbox being treated like a pariah by the community, which caused him to consider leaving the scene entirely. Leffen here is at the very least guilty of the same thing Hax is currently banned for. 3. He knowingly lied about ZeRo in 2020, accusing him of showing p*n to a minor, when the scenario he claimed happened absolutely never did. This allegation was one of the main reasons why ZeRo was removed from the community (this is not to be confused with ZeRo's other allegation, which was true, and is why he's still rightfully ousted from the community). This is close to criminal, and is inexcusable even in the context of ZeRo being guilty of other things. These points all have strong evidence behind them, and if explained properly in a video, I genuinely believe could have gotten Leffen banned--rightfully so. Instead though, Hax spent a majority of his original video painting Leffen has a supervillain with a master plan to rewrite history and become the dictator of the Smash community. Even if you agree with that characterization, it's not quantifiable, neither was it well argued in his video. All including those points did was ruin his credibility, and poisoned the well for the factual points to ever be brought up again in another context, instead fated to be written of as "Hax schizo posts" like the rest of the content in his video. What Hax did wrong was not that he sent hate towards Leffen, it was the fact that he destroyed the possibility that these facts would ever face a proper response from TOs. He has done the community a disservice by acting the way that he did, and shouldn't be forgiven for that. Now the only people who know the truth are people who were willing to sit through his original video, only picking out the real points, to which there is ultimately no point, because they will never be followed up upon with any kind of action. It's best that Hax give up, but it's also shameful that the people in charge cannot use any critical thinking skills and deduce that Leffen is guilty of heinous things despite the evidence to that originating from a plainly bad video. On the topic of Hax being unbanned, there is absolutely no good argument for him not to be, end of story.
Twitter goons can't sit through a video more than 20 minutes long, so of course the video would just get memed to death. I really wish Hax had uploaded the revised version of the video first. Leffen is such a genuinely nasty person compared to Hax, the Smash community is full of hypocrites
ZeRo was banned for pedophilia, not what Leffen said. Leffen said that to give some weight to why he thought the accusations against ZeRo were plausible, not to get him banned alone. It's ultimately a case of who gives a shit cos we got the right outcome The Hbox video wasn't serious and involved Leffen and two other smashers including Armada telling true stories about hbox being a jerk. The main thing about evidence.zip 1 is that Leffen was banned and he did apologise at the time. Continuing to hold it over him isn't fair, nor is judging his current personality over it fair. Do you know how many sports personalities were bullies in school? How useful are their stories from their victims at the time? Literally useless because it's literally not legal to even publish it
@@TastyCarcass1. ZeRo was rightfully banned, but what Leffen accused him of was entirely fabricated. You even say it was said to show that the other accusations were plausible, so tell me, why would he make up that situation in order to do that? You don't need to lie about a guilty person in order for them to be more guilty, the only reason you would do that is because you have bad intentions. 2. "The Hbox video wasn't serious", good job undermining and gaslighting around what Leffen did to Hbox. It's a good thing this is all highly documented, and Hbox's feelings pertaining to his treatment are also. This is not a debate, Leffen harassed Hbox for years, and it was damaging to Hbox's well-being. 3. Listen, I would not be bringing up evidence .zip if Leffen hadn't lied about it. I don't think events from 10 years ago are automatically relevant without reasoning, and my reasoning is very sound. Lying about your misdeeds instead of owning up to them are not the actions of a reformed person, which makes those events from 10 years ago relevant to talk about.
@@jon.... @jon.... Literally no one cares, he's a pedophile. I don't know why so many people give a shit 2: "Leffen did to Hbox" literally everyone hated him. It's also well documented that Hbox was rude and had complaints of sexual misconduct at the time. It was a different time, the whole thing is best left in the past. Have you watched the video? It's just anecdotes about hbox's antisocial behaviour. 3: if it's stuff committed when he was a minor over ten years ago, then it is irrelevant now. You have to let it go, like everyone else does in these sorts of situations, and even hax has recognised. Also his lies about it were because he said he was punched ten times and hax proved actually it was only 3 or something
1: we don't know how Incorrect it was except he said she said. But ultimately, it applied pressure to a pedophile who confessed. To hang onto pity for ZeRo over this is pedophile apologia. 2: everyone hated Hbox. The video is anecdotes from other players about hbox's antisocial behaviour. It wasnt a take down video. The guy was a dickhead and committed sexual misconduct at events. Everyone would rather move on, including Hbox or you'd think he'd have said something about this, but he hasn't. Instead we just get people like you trying to use him and zero as ammunition. 3: he was a minor, and honestly everyone should move on.
I liked the last video cuz it gave those vibes that he was just gonna double down and say f you and leave a legend. They aren’t letting him back and a ton of people already agreed with him about Leffen may as well go out in a blaze of glory and take back all apologies. What’s the point of apologizing here? They aren’t ever letting him back in the Melee scene. The Melee scene itself is about to implode either way soon.
@@jebril right, like what does he think is gonna happen? give it up man, move onto something different. The smash scene is screwed anyway. You're praying for a fallen building to stand.
You didn't really do anything crazy, leffen has been toxic af since the beginning and everyone knows it, calling that out is completely legit. Regardless, I wish you the best and your ban has always been ridiculous to me, I hope you heal from this and are able to get back into the scene. Ill always be rooting for you fam, best of luck, take care of yourself and your mental health.
The fact that you have to drag yourself like this for to get unbanned. You shouldn’t have to shame yourself because you had an opinion on something you thought was important to share.
Absolutely; Hax messed up with the video by having those jarring comparisons (even though, frankly, the comparisons were accurate), but Leffen doesn't deserve an apology. He deserves something that I can't put into this comment.
The sad reality is you don't have the clout Leffen does and TOs are gonna take the ad revenue he brings over letting you compete if they have to choose one or the other.
It's true, being unbanned in NY (and tipped off) for like a year without incident was more than enough to prove he was rehabilitated. Sadly it was never gonna happen and the gaslighting continues.
I’m glad to see that the weight of this feud has been lifted. I look forward to putting this behind us and enjoying your contributions to the melee community in whatever shape that takes. In the video you mentioned stress and I just want you to know that there are people like me that have always been rooting for you, and are rooting for you now. Please do whatever it takes to take care of yourself ❤
Listen man, this is great, we need more apology videos like this one, from someone who realised his mistakes and want to reach out to the community he's hurt. it takes an insane amount of courage to say sorry, and im sure we're all glad you said it. i will support you once you start streaming again Hax. take care and have a great week end.
@@Materialist39And your stubbornness as an example of online culture with anonymity behind a monitor is why no one wants to deal with the melee scene: Getting into it, playing the game, etc. What happened with Zero says enough about Leffen. But you are the problem. Throw your ego in the trash, and work on bettering yourself. Quit praising someone’s disgusting behavior.
I would've quintupled down because Leffen is a complete asshole. It's great to see you've become a more humble person and all but this doesn't change that fact, or the fact the community turns a blind eye to everything Leffen ever does, and nobody ever took your criticism seriously.
People said that before when he deleted previous apologies to double down more, so let's just wish em the best and that this is the last one he's gotta make
Yo tbh I only wish you the best, regardless of what the future holds please keep your sanity and mental health as the main priority 💐 time heals all, my dude
I think this is a good step to take Hax. It can be hard to admit when you are wrong, or when something isn't true, but I think it's admirable that you have been able to do that here. Wishing you all the best, and hoping that you can move forward.
He isn't wrong and he knows he isn't wrong. He has just decided he values his place in the community more than his pride. He vastly underestimated how much control over the narrative leffen has and is forced to give in
Sometimes the wrong people get to have the last laugh and you just have to accept that and move on. Life is one but it has multiple chapters, things may not work for you this time around but there’s always the next. Take it from someone who got bullied in the past, it can be rough but you can learn to let the past go and forge a new you. I believe in you Hax😊
That’s great, man. Hoping you’re on a good path that leads you to joy. I don’t really know you, but it did feel like mental health was involved. I can relate. Wishing you well!
Like you said Hax, it's time for you to truly show everyone that you've changed. We're all rooting for you and your well being, so stream once in a while so everyone knows your doing fine and making progress. Or take a break, nothing wrong with that either. Just let us know how your holding up. I hope you can bring some positivity into the community. Best of wishes
This is really impressive from a personal growth perspective. Every other video you've made with any kind of apology in it was immediately undercut by a section reminding everyone that you were still right in what you said originally. I think it shows a lot of character to admit an action was wrong, a lot of people can't do that. I'll freely admit that I subscribed to you 3 years ago to watch how long the train wreck would last, but it seems like you're leveling out, and I'm impressed. Good luck.
@@MicrowavedFurby He was talking about Hax providing receipts being misconstrued as causing all harassment to leffen when there are plenty of f-leffen videos with much more incendiary tones.
@@uhmmmFU But it's wild that the whole community turned on Hax for exposing how shitty of a person Leffen is. Everyone essentially gaslit him into thinking that he was crazy and completely ignored all the points and allegations he brought up. Even after the Technicals video in Zero's defence that basically proved that Leffen made up baseless accusations against Zero with the intent to ruin his life. After all the shit that Leffen has done, why wasn't he the one that was banned?
I played Fox because of you and I played Twisted Fate because of you. I respected you a lot for your insight and dedication to the game and sound logical approach to solving problems. I was crushed when your video on Leffen was posted. It was so disappointing to see one of the coolest people in the scene go off the rails and do something so deranged. Every comment you made to request an unban was charged with language that absolved yourself of shame and responsibility. You have the language this time, whether it's the product of trial and error or if it's genuine, is for you to know and for the community to judge. I personally believe people should have the chance to prove they've reformed. I'm not a TO, I don't have any power, but if I had it my way I would do the logical thing and give you an unban with a probation of some kind. Give up a shoe (metaphorically) and take it back when the period is over with good behavior. Growth isn't always linear, it's just important that you are growing.
@salj.5459 I did, and it was unhinged. Any normal person wouldn't even consider publishing something like that against another person in the community given both of their positions and who they are. It's extremely irresponsible for nobodies benefit.
@@Zetsuuga I don't believe that. Leffen has done damage to the Smash community in both past (evidence.zip) and present (Hungrybox situation, Jisu situation, general toxicity).
I'm really happy to see this change. It seems so much healthier. I would like to see Hax break down some of the things he's said in videos to undo some of the claims. Some of the reasoning behind the videos still circulate through Hax's fanbase and it could do well to actually show them why some of the claims in the video don't stand from the person who actually started their circulation. But, for now I think it's better to leave it alone and just heal. Nice to see you back on the right path, I hope the community stands behind you as you get back in shape.
kon ban wa. i think it's not possible for him to go over his previous claims and restate them, because that is what he was trying to do before. the problem with it is that hax was saying how he really feels. he can't say he doesn't actually believe those things, because he does. he just sees now how it was fucked up to express that in a public setting, and in a way that calls people to action. this video is the best we will get for him taking accountability and speaking against the videos he made in the past few years.
After 3 years, I think we all were expecting more of the same, but this feels like a genuine change in tone. Praying for your health, happiness, and reciprocal forgiveness between you and others. Just don't forget to forgive yourself sometimes too.
@@kshineducking7714this is bigger than leffen dude. it doesn't really matter one way or another. if leffen is truly the problem you think he is, someone else can handle it. hax is coming forward because he knows he was wrong and because all this is doing is hurting him. hax didn't get bullied into apologizing he just wants to live his life again after spending time obsessed with something that's taken him out of it. it's more than melee. his life is more than just melee. he's great as hax mf $ but he deserves to be able to be more than hax. his name is aziz and he wants to be more than a grudge that's been haunting him for a large chunk of his life. even if every word he's ever said is right, why do we want him to keep fighting?

hey man iv been a fan since the doc came out. telling the truth is hard and every one is human. you have contributed a lot to the community. right now just focus on yourself and mental well being. i hope one day i get to watch you play again.
FREE HAX Mans just admitted to everything, zero DI. A lifetime ban for someone willing to own up to their mistakes and better themselves is not justified!
Hax, it sounds like you've done a great amount of self-reflection to come to this more objective view of your actions in the past. This seems like a great step towards understanding and dealing with these issues, and I wish you all the best in the future, sincerely.
I was really worried when you said you had another video coming, but after a small delay and this being what you released, I am just really relieved more than anything else. I’m pleased to see you talking with such a positive attitude and with some acknowledgement of where you stepped out of line. The situation itself is complicated and this video may prove divisive somehow, but actually the important thing is you’ve labelled the problem you have, and with this newfound recognition you can seek the necessary help and move forward. As someone who has suffered with PTSD, and has sought help for it, I know it can be tricky coming to terms with the trauma and also things you did acting out of that pain. The whole discussion surrounding accountability can be extremely difficult when you were acting whilst not quite in your mind. It’s not quite that you’ll be able to get rid of the baggage for life, more like you’ll just be strong enough/ have the necessary tools to carry it wherever you may go. I hope you can get to the root cause of whatever’s been weighing you down and holding you back and then find a way to shine (or maybe multi-shine in your case) as brightly as you should be. Seeing you come back and talk in what is clearly a far better headspace is reassuring and refreshing. Good luck on figuring these things out, and I hope we get more positive updates (on here or X) about how you’re doing in the future. It sounds like you’re in good hands with the friends and peers you mentioned, and that you’ll be handling yourself far better from now on- good luck Hax!
I only met you somewhat recently, but even then it was obvious that you're a standup guy. Really happy to finally see some real accountability, and not the other bs you were putting out LMAO. Wish you nothing but the best & glad we got to play in bracket
I'm impressed with you, Hax. It takes a lot of guts to say what you said. Just stay well, get help, and never quit Melee. Stay sick at the game. Good luck with your efforts along the way.
This is an incredible step to recovery hax. Wish you the best in everything and although its still early in regards to an unban (in regards to this video) i do hope the community can be forgiving in the future and let you back in, should you be true to your word
Guys its not like Hax diddled kids. He just compared a prick to the Hit man. Sure not cool, but we're gonna ban him from a job cause we don't like his opinions? Mangos getting hammered on stream while his husky kid is fisting a bag of Doritos, yet I don't see his VIP pass getting taking away. So calm your tits on throwing shade at peeps especially when they haven't been convicted of anything. #unbanhax
it’s not really about Leffen. The reality is that both things can be true. A lot of people agree Leffens a douche, but the fact that Hax put together numerous videos accusing him of some kind of conspiratorial take over of the smash scene TWICE is also very concerning. It’s not fair to Leffen, even if I’m really not a fan of the guy. Replace Leffen with probably anyone else with clout in the smash community and it would be the same result.
someday you're going to look back on this period of time in your life where you saw random internet personalities who will never know or care about you as either cartoon villains or oppressed victims fighting against the system, and you're probably going to feel embarrassed about it. hax and leffen are literally just two guys that you do not know and never will.
Leffen does not deserve an apology. His behavior was wrong and your voice deserves to be heard. I'm sorry you've been put in this position, needing to do a bullshit apology campaign to appease the people who control the scene, people who don't care about the truth or doing the right thing, and just want their social cred or "business" to be benefitted by taking the side of the more popular and lucrative person in the conflict.
This is the best video you could have made. I hope you understand that people will still be sceptical since the last apology of yours was deleted and new videos were released after it that just re-stated the initial video, but I believe most people can see that you are doing your best here and being sincere. There is a lot of cleanup that has to be done as a result of all of this, but I hope that you are looking out for yourself first and continue on this path. People who are talking about banning or unbanning right now aren't really helping anyone here, this is about accountability, and you are on a good path. Whatever happens after, happens.
he's never apologized in the past. his "final videos" have all been laced with "sorry not sorry, im right you're wrong." he's caused more internal damage behind the scenes as of recent than good, and continuing to let hax exist as he was was dangerous. with that being said, im always a believer in a come back, so i hope hax will be allowed back in eventually once he worked on himself.
@@AL-lh2ht Let's be real, the tourneys he DID went to where not of the upper echelon. And if he DID got to a major it was outside of the country, basically every US major still had him as banned.
