Will add to the madness. I have a friend in a LDS ward in Arizona that had people come in to show them how to fill out their ballots so their " vote aligns with the LDS ethics. " I was skeptical until she forwarded the text message. Before that I thought maybe they just meant if you don't know how to fill out a ballot. Silly me 🙄🤪

Religion, if used wrong, is both dangerous and very evil. The more rules there are the more control they have. Leaving followers easier to control and manipulate. Always be Leary of any church that imposes unrealistic guidelines. I do not trust people who have to profess their beliefs imposing unrealistic expectations. Judging others, condemning life styles that are none of their business, it’s just projection in reality. If they play the whole everyone is out to get us crap, then they are covering up some major stuff.

Around mark 20 minutes -- ESSENTIAL PARALLEL: During prop 8, the church targeted wealthy Californian members of the church, including my father at the time, asking them to donate large amounts of money (his was ~$25,000 -- unfortunately donated in MY NAME, my mother's name, and my grandmother's name -- something I was pressured into, and something that seems spineless and targeted... pretending it's a women's issue when it was RELIGIOUS MEN influencing Prop 8). Well, hm, how do you think they knew that he was a "wealthy member?" Maybe from his… TITHING records?? This is not the first time the church has used tithing records to target donations for issues they are invested in.

I'm a never mormon, but reading Glenn Beck's email sounded truly frightening to me. It rang like an end of days, Jim Jones cult. If someone i knew sent an email like that i would be worried for my safety.

If you read it knowing that Glenn is talking about Tim’s public excommunication from the church, Glenn at this point still thought Tim was a good guy being wrongfully accused and that the church had taken unfair action against Tim. There is nothing shady about this email. He’s trying to figure out what is going on and trying to counsel his friend on how to proceed against false allegations. But, once Glenn read the court filings, he realized as many did, that Tim is a master manipulator. Glenn was also under the impression that Sean and Mike were good guys, but as the truth comes out about what Sean and Mike knew about Tim, they might be guilty also. As for the apostle Ballard giving out confidential tithing info, that would be horrible if it’s true. However again, Tim is a master manipulator.

The portrait is gross in so many ways: 1. Tim is a white-savior, 2. It includes Harriet Tubman, the legend who ran The Underground Railroad to eradicate US slavery. They do all the time. There are LDS police officers, lawyers, judges and so forth who believe in the rule of law and hold anyone and everyone accountable as it relates to law. We don't automatically believe or follow a person just because they are LDS. There are varying degrees of belief, faith, and fellowship among the LDS people. Some wouldn't touch the book Visions of Glory with a 10 ft pole. Nor are they extreme preppers. For the most part we believe a certain scaffold as far as it pertains to religion. Some fill in the scaffolding with strange "interpretations" and "visions"; some are pretty chill and just good everyday, normal people.

@@motherbear327in matters of general morality and the law, I think you are correct. Most Mormons are good honest people that want to do the right thing and hold everyone accountable fairly. But they have never had to make those decisions when the subject of suspicion is a powerful Mormon leader like Tim Ballard, Elder Ballard, or the attorney general of the state. Allegiance to authority is super strong among Mormons. In matters of government and politics, I think Mormons are guilty as charged. Mormons have disappointed and disgusted me in the last 10-12 years. Mormons are the most extreme of right wing extremists. Peddlers in every racist violent hateful paranoid uninformed conspiracy. It was one major factor in my leaving the church.

I agree100%. I think Glenn Beck was trying to help his friend Tim Ballard find out if the church had truly denounced him. I could be wrong but at this time i believe Glenn was also being bamboozled by Tim. It looks to me like Beck decided to do his own investigation on Ballard. Sent his news organization, The Blaze, to interview the women making the claims of sexual misconduct by Tim Ballard and found these women to be credible. To Beck's credit The Blaze did not hold back in their reporting. They had the most in depth reporting of any other news at the time.

We were stationed at Hill AFB in Ogden, UT. Luckily, my kids were under 6 yrs old. Beautiful area, but not accepting of ‘outsiders’. The division of church and state does no exist in Davis County or Utah in general.

I think it absolutely is linked to his run for senate, but not in a sinister way - if they have intimidated witnesses and had legal system in their pocket I can imagine people holding back. But the thought of him adding to his power by election, plus a reaction to the 'look at me' hero movie could have been a tipping point for various victims and witnesses.

Interesting. A day or two before the allegations came out, Tim did an interview with Marisol Nichols, discussing THEIR 'couples ruse'. It was clearly an attempt to get ahead of the accusations and, sure enough, the day they came out, he posted a link to that interview on his Spear Fund press release/denial; but Marisol had taken the video down. She still had 2 or 3 OTHER interviews with Tim posted, but I see those are gone, too.
