More than likely, your knee wants to buckle because you're not getting a full muscle contraction. This happens not because of weakness but because the muscle is already partially contracted, i.e. knotted. This also causes pain due to increased stress on the tendon (which swells) which then acts on the insertion site in bone causing pain. I've created several videos on my RU-vid discussing this in detail and how to fix quickly, even on trail.
Don't rush, rest, elevate, stretch and ice, then heat. You're strong and determined, heal, then get back out there. You're so awesome. Happy you got goodnnews, or at least news you basically knew. Live your videos, thank you
Great news! Captain Jack had knee issues at first. Not sure how he resolved them. I know my knees do better with zero drop shoes. Takes an adjustment period though. I like Altra lone peak. Some like Olympus. Looking forward to seeing you back on trail 🎉
So glad you are healing up. I have been a runner and hiker for many years. A lot of my running friends have had knee, ankle and foot problems cured by getting custom made orthotics. I have seen them cure everything from sore hip to plantar fasciitis. Just a thought.
