I remembered this today and thought you might like to hear it. 3 fellers was sitting in the Dallas to catch flights to their respective homes and got to talking sports. Well, the man from Oregon went on about the Ducks. Then the feller from Connecticut went on about NCAA. The Gentleman from West Virginia, being somewhat prideful, spoke up about the Mountaineers winning the National Rifle Target Shooting Competition. The other two just looked at each other and smirked. This sort of got under the skin of the Mountain William. So after a minute's thought he said; "Alright we'll give them Huskies 5 basketballs, and the Ducks 11 footballs. Then we'll give the Eers 10 Rifles and see who wins.

This is a great study. My family (Asher) has stated that we have Melungeon blood. I am wanting to have my DNA done but not sure which company is the best...I really enjoy your channel and love the music too.

Thanks so much for that and especially the comment about the music. I’m a lifelong musician and I do my best to focus on the music as much as I do video production.

@@TheAppalachianStoryteller I really wish I did, truth is, I know very little about the history of my area. I love the history of the 1800s the most and I know it goes back a good ways, because we have several old homestead foundations and chimneys around, left to rot and have been forgotten. A buddy of mine has even found civil war bullets here and I've found graves marked with a simple rock in the woods in places. I know some of those date back to atleast the civil war because I've known people that had them dated and even searched to make sure no remains were still there. Some of the people that had them searched were buildin houses back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

New listener/watcher and love all your videos! Your voice is great but softer and the music breaks are often way louder than your voice so I have to turn the volime down and then turn it back up when you begin speaking. Otherwise sound is great. Thank you for all the hard work!

This is very interesting! Crazy to discover this all happened down the street from my house. One revision suggestion at the end: that laundromat depicted is not in the same location as was the Dutch Inn/Eckard, but rather on the opposite side of 25 (Asheville Hwy). The Dutch Inn/Eckard property is a plasma donation center now called KEDPLASMA.

I can trace my ma’s kin back to the 1700’s in the northeast corner of Tennessee which today is northwest North Carolina. Still have kin there, some cousins back in a holler that I have never met. Grandpa was a lumberman and of course had a still. My uncles would run the moonshine up to where we lived up north.
