Scientists at Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre (CUBRIC) have developed a new brain imaging technique. Apparent Proton Resonance (or ‘APR’ for short) is a radically different approach to capturing signals from the human body. By removing most of the essential components for image formation, the team has produced a low-cost alternative to conventional MRI scanning, that will remove the usual contra-indications to MRI and allow the use of APR to become widespread. This story was released on April 1st 2019.
