Most people dont realize how fun martial arts actually is then when they find one that fits theor comfort zone its addictive as hell. Thats why I cant recommend them enough
I walked into a bjj Gym 18 months ago. I got triangled by a Purple belt Girl in Like 15 Seconds in my First class. That was the Moment i knew i Want to learn that Shit. Im a Bluebelt 1 Stripe now, teach Kids classes and will train until i die. It really changed me as a Person
One thing you never see is most celebs focusing on traditional karate, etc. Most like Russell Brand, Demi Lovato, Keanu Reeves all doing bjj. Glad to see Idris and RDJ focused on striking arts.
There's a clip, iunno which platofrm it's originally from, but shows what 18mph looks like on different people. Shorter runners look like Sonic while the taller ones look less impressive. It's a really good demonstration of what you were talking about regarding lankey fighters looking a little awkward.
you're like the only youtuber that when they react to something actually reacts to it, rather than just stealing the original content and putting your face in the corner
i didnt take karate as a kid. always wanted to but could not becausei am disabled. i can only take it now because i am going to an online dojo where you are able to train as much or as little as you want as i can not make it through an entire training session, i can only be physical for a really short amount of time and even then i am not able to do much. it also means i dont need to spar as i would get really hurt (brittle bones and cerebral palsy, fnd and crps)
Tbh, when I was competing in judo, when someone gets an armbar, no need to get hurt. I'd just tap out. I was a fan of chokes and was going hard on them in competitions, I don't want to experience someone going hard on my arm.
Some kickboxers dont use a lot of sideways movement, and just focus on walking the other guy down and keeping a tight guard. A bit muay thai style (marching forward and going for the knock out). And your point about leglocks is so true.. I think thw whole saddle and 50/50 positions are the most boring part of jiu jitsu (but I'm just a white belt, so what do I know).
Seth, if you wanna watch Irish Elba's fight and fight camp he did a 3 part documentary on it called Irish Elba: Fighter. I think it was for Discovery Channel.
Mark Zuckerberg does martial arts? He’s not terrible at it, just (as Icy Mike says) HANDS UP!!! But some of the celebrities actually do good. And I like how well they do
You should check out Caity Lotz doing martial arts training. She's the lead on Legends of Tomorrow and from what I can see she takes her training super seriously
Caity Lotz is a different breed from the others in this video. She was a professional dancer doing ballet, contemporary, hiphop and breakdancing, touring with Lady Gaga. She went into acting and trained in stunt fighting, parkour and tricking, performing in Arrow, Legends and the Flash for almost ten years.
i took martial arts for a couple of years starting when i was 8. when i was 11 my mom got diagnosed with kidney disease and was put on dialysis twice a day. The dojo was 45 min away so needles to say that my martial arts career was over. i got to yellow belt in koro ken karate at Vermont Martial Arts Acadamy, Sensei Rick Marallo. He is still teaching to this day. I got to participate in one tournament and got a bronze metal, i still have the metal but lost the gee and belts. I got a job at 14 and martial arts was out the window. But i did get a heavy bag and a bob and every once in a while, i will practice my kicks and punches. I do miss it. I wanted to get back into it over the years, but I get concussions very easily, after a few injuries to the head so I'm afraid that if i do and get a bad enough concussion it could kill me.
Idris took Thai Boxing as a younger man and his friend and fellow actor Warren Brown trained him for his fight a few years ago.. Warren Brown was a world MT champion before he got into acting
A lot of mma gyms have workout equipment, and you get trained when you go there. If you subscribed to a personal trainer it could be hundreds a month, versus 50 a month for an mma gym. Or you could just go to a regular gym and workout on your own but unless you are a disciplined monk you aren't going to get the same results
Dude, look at Ludicrous 52 Blocks training that he then used in FF 7 clip. He's very accomplished. Also, Mario Lopez boxing is no joke! He spar with pros from time to time.
Mario Lopez was a legit combat sports athlete. He won CIF (the CA state high school wrestling tournament); CA is largely known as one of the toughest state wrestling tournaments, because although it doesn't have the same tradition or reputation as say Iowa, Minnesota, Oklahoma, etc., it only has a single state tournament (almost every other state has divisions based on school size, somewhat akin to DI, DII, DIII, etc. for college) and still has plenty of rural/farmboy areas where wrestling thrives (particularly Bakersfield), not to mention its gigantic population size. Sorry for the spiel, I was a CA wrestler, so I get a bit prideful :-D.
@@xanderxue5864 I didn't know about his wrestling background, other than his Slater character, and that he did pretty well in California. Good to know he's a well rounded athlete. Keeping pride in your abilities is great also!
Enjoyed the video, as always, but ...only JJR was actually doing a martial art, and he only spoke about it. All the others were doing (“hand to hand”) fighting sports. Not quite the same.
Hey sensei Seth...can you come to B.C. Canada and train with Bill Wolfe ? (or maybe a different option or location) There is a really good and recent interview on "karate canucks" youtube channel with Bill...its very good...his training is like nothing youve done before...its very effective...anyway, ty and i hope you can make this meeting work.
Idk if theirs clips of it but I know of Edward Norton talking about training in aikido & Hannibal Buress talking about training in Muay Thai on Joe Rogan. Howard Stern has claimed to be a brown belt in Shotokan Karate which I’d like to see but I took the comment with a pinch of salt lol Elodie Yung who played Elektra in the Netflix Daredevil Series is a black belt in karate apparently (Just because I love her) there is footage of Jennifer Garner boxing in preparation for the movie Peppermint Then there’s the obvious movie martial arts guys like JCVD, Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgren etc
Can you react to the original "Iceman" Jean Yves Theriault? He's a legend in full contact karate (above the waist kickboxing) with a record of 69 wins (61 KOs)-6 losses- and 1 draw.
Our gym is in Pittsburgh, and Wiz's friend and bodyguard (and High Rollerz boss) trains with us, and our coaches train Wiz sometimes. Don't get in a fight with either of them. Also, this is equivalent to two experts looking for leglocks: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gkJ1wJ2kdpA.html
hello Seth!..ZUckerbergs Trainings footage looks like he Konws whts comming next?..Did you see the low(miiddle kick he blocks with his shin...he already had the block Up,even the other fighter just started the KIck....What do you think about his footage? is it manipulated,so Zuckerberg looks better than he is?
