Ronda’s mother was all about ne-waza (groundwork) when she competed - this was an adjustment she had to make in her game because she had messed up her knees so that the best way for her to win was to get the fight to the ground. So it makes sense she would be armbar-centric.
the truth is actually if ronda listened to her mom she wouldve been much more successful, ronda said her mom told her to not fall in love with her striking, and ronda fell in love with her striking lol
I'm not a capoeira dude but I'll give conner a pass for not having the leg straight. If it had been he could have risked actually connecting with conan
As a martial artist myself. You are BY FAR my favorite martial arts Channel for as long as I can remember. It's insane how I never get bored watching your videos and how entertaining you can be. Keep it up sensei Seth! Love your commentary too.
DC's was the only one that didn't make me cringe. DC has like real adult dad charisma. When Conor talks I just want him to shut up. When DC talks I'm like "That's interesting, keep talking."
I feel like if I trashtalked a pro fighter I wouldn't be so boasty about it, it would probably be like "I think this guy will get outgrappled" and that's it, in case he appears out of nowhere I wouldn't back down
The thing you said about RU-vid/internet comments are so true. I have literally seen that conversation of someone talking some trash to a RU-vidr and the RU-vidr responded. The trash talker literally responded with ". . . I didn't think you would actually answer. . . I love you. . ." and all that crap. It was funny XD
Believe it or not, a lot of us in Ireland don't like Conor at all 🤣 kinda feel like he's letting the side down when he beats on old guys lol. And his whiskey is actually pretty rank. On another topic, I'd love to see what you think of the fights in Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Some bits make me think they trained pretty hard for em, other bits make me think not so much
Oh shit, I forgot Scott Pilgrim had a lot of action scenes. Yeah I remember thinking they did an amazing job at not making the action look fake even though the entire movie was the definition of cartoony 🤣
Connor did throw the capoiera kick against Nate in the first fight at the very beginning, he missed it though 😁. I think he also threw a rear uppercut as well and landed.
Listening to you critique fasion is like watching that first guy try to work a heavy bag, but it would also be fun to see you try to learn about it or even get a makeover 🤣😉
Love the react content man, just a suggestion but it may be better to have you in the top right and the footage bigger, was a little hard to follow on mobile, or maybe I'm blind, either way keep it up brother!
The effort put into this channel is amazing propotionate to the sub ammount geep the high quality consistant content coming you will for sure be at the top one day!
I was in Chicago a few weeks before the Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis fight, had no clue Curtis was behind me and I said "Lewis wins by knockout" and Blaydes was upset and asked why I thought that. I told him he showed his hand saying he was going to wrestle him the whole time and that was a mistake. He was pretty cool about it because I didn't back down about it and I told him my honest opinion and call me nostradumbass and pick up that phone because I called it
It cracks me up how almost every single normal person can’t throw a punch to save their life. A lot of people think they can fight but they actually can’t.
Ronda only started losing because of pride she really thought she could stand with Amanda I remember watching it saying she’s about to take her to the floor and break her arm but it never happened
It's not every case but a lot of fighters tend to not be really educated. I'm following Erik Morales and Marco Barrera's boxing show and whenever they interview boxers who have a degree you can see a lot of difference. I mean it's obvious but it is quite interesting how much it shows in the way they speak, analyze and behave
Funny enough, Irish people think McGregors a total prick, but we won’t deny that he’s got stuff in the octagon. Just not the best representation when’s he’s being arrogant.
@@senseisethreacts Yeah. We did. He’s got sexual assault accusations against him, a bit of trouble with the Kinahan cartel, dui charges. There were death threats to someone who organised a St. Patrick’s day parade in… I wanna say it was Chicago but I might be wrong, because they wanted to have him appear and represent Ireland. And McGregor is not a good representation of Irish people. Because we’re generally not narcissistic sociopaths. I mean we’re all dickheads yeah. But we’re typically a bit more sensible.
Umm the Rabo (Tail) De (of) Arraia (Stingray) is always in old times (pre. 1940’s) with heel hook at end of rotation. Nowadays it’s straight so it’s called a “compassso” since the foot is like a compass needle. Today we call it meia lua de compasso but it has nothing to do with the old Rabo de Arraia (Tail of Stingray). The reason for the heel hook at the end of the rotation is not only because it was stingray but the “sting” was a razor blade wedged between the sole of the shoe and the inseams. So when the rotation ends you would hook the foot/heel in, so the blade of the foot with the razor in the sole would cut. Most kicks in capoeira were with razorblades or something in the foot that’s why the heel or the foot was pointed (like in ballet.) If you train capoeira Angola like me: we always have point kick or point of foot since we imagine a blade in the inseams. Nowadays since the blade disappeared from the shoe and the inseam of the foot-sole, the kick became straight the and called it a Half moon Compass. Meia Luca de Compasso. Not Tail of the Stingray (Rambo de Arraia).
3:25 to 3:45 Your fingers were taking me out Seth! I remember Averett!💀 Maybe you could react to former UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn on Fox and Friends? Or maybe you could react to Hulk Hogan putting a sleeper hold on Richard Belzer? Awesome content this week Sensei!👍
Since you are reacting to TV shows may i suggest "goldie" from 2006. Final Fu. It pits various different martial arts in setting with weird rules where only kicks to torso and upper legs are allowed. Low leg kicks are seen as blocks and kicks to other areas (hips, head, groin etc) are against the rules. It was really low quality for reality tv even back then and iirc at least one person walked out of the competition because they didn't agree with how sparring was done. Since you know a lot of various arts you may be able to give comment to both to the format and something about competitors performances.
Watch that Ronda clip again- the guy disrespects her by pushing her off-script, so I think that's why she got him a little extra in the armbar. After he pushes her, she says, 'Well I WAS just going to show you a ...' I am pretty ok with her giving him a little extra domination in this specific situation. She probably gets misogynist shit all the time. And like you said, she could tear is arm off without a second thought. And now he knows that. :D
Bro… I severed the flexor tendon leading to the top two joints of my right pinky - the thing is a nuisance, and it’s usually a liability (that I buddy up w/ ringy), but its like an eye-seeking missile, lol. Also, yes. I’m ALWAYS fancy *as fuck,* ofc.
Is Ronda's mom that invested in her arm bars? Considering her mom is an Olympic bronze medalist in Judo and Gold in Judo World Championships. Yes. Also her mom was an O.G calling out her terrible MMA coach before anyone.
That can only happen if your opponent isnt moving lol. average fighters would move to the front or away from the kick, so kick in real fight wouldnt do damage as heavy as when they do it on sandbag
"of course if you ask someone from Ireland how they feel about Connor..." Should watch Napoleon blownaparts video on Connor, Irish guy who really doesn't like him
Can you react to fights in martial arts movies like bloodsport, kickboxer old and new ones, rockys, enter the dragon, karate kid, never back down....just some suggestions
