Firstly usb 3.1 isn't apple's idea nor were they the first to implement it. Secondly, itunes has to be available on windows to prop up the iphone's individual limited functionality.

+clouds5 -expensive? no they are up to half the price of the competition. Retail is $160 -less functionality? really, what else do wireless headphones do apart from playing music -bad battery life? 5 hours is good, better than most of the competition -high chance of getting lost? how is that different from the competition

Ross B2 They aren't half the price at all. The Jaybird X3's cost $130, and the Samsung IconX's are $200. More functionality would be having commands on the device itself, rather than using shitty voice commands and needing an Internet connection to do it. Also, most other wireless earphones have wingtips on them, which keep them in your ear rather than relying on them fitting perfectly. Also, other headphones have earbuds rather than being hard plastic, making them more comfortable and keeping them in better

Ross B2 5 hours battery life is really, really bad. you can afford great music equipment for the same price. if you are okay with on ear headsets instead of in ear buds you could get akg y50bt for roughly the same price. sick sound, 20 hours battery life. and did i mention, sick sound. used to have in ear bluetooth headset before, they lasted a lot longer. many people use headphones for far longer than 5 hours.

Merivu I am going to say windows Linux and android are objectively better but credit were credit is due there optimization is phenomenal there phones should not run the way they do and there new iMac coming out with Vega and an Intel xeon is selling at a amazing price and let's be happy the new iPad has a 120hz 1440p display, they are not as bad as they used to be I don't want them to die I want them to crash I want to people to understand how limited their devices are because Apple can truly make great things and if they needed to they would innovate very far

Well said. I prefer Apple, but Android is a good company, when it comes down to it, jut use what ever makes you happy. I for one love my iPhone 7 and my AirPods, are they overpriced yeah, but I had the money and I knew I would like them so, why not? Both Apple and Android are great companies with their own pros and cons. Neither one is quote "better than the other". People give me a lot of hate for using AirPods and I do not know why they have to stoop to such a low level. If you do not like AirPods, do not get AirPods, simple as that.

i got the airpods about a month ago and they've been through some updates which i makes them a lot more useable. for one, the settings now allow a double tap for skip forward or backwards - i have my left pod set to pause and my right pod set to skip backwards - and although im not sure, battery life seems to be a lot better now than what is shown in this video.

I have them and in my opinion they're ridiculously useful and really worth it, especially as an iOS user. Since this video has been made you can have more options for double tapping (e.g. double tap right to skip track and double tap lefy to play/pause). i am also a heavy user and they have ran out once or twice in the 6 months of having them, thanks to the 5 hour battery in the earphones themselves and the 24 hour battery in the case. and even when they did run out they charged back up in a matter of minutes so no worries there. while i do miss the inline controls, its a small price to pay for no wires and such a sleek design. i hope I've helped someone out there.

If you want better sound quality, you wouldn't buy wireless earbuds in the first place, nor would you buy earbuds at all, you'd buy headphones. My point is that people are saying that it's overpriced garbage when it's not overpriced compared to others and they offer more features than just standard bluetooth earbuds with the W1 chip, charging case etc. If Samsung were to do the same thing a year later, people would say how amazing it is.

silverword111 I'm guessing you're having a hard time reading my comment, it's not overpriced when comparing to wireless earphones from other companies, but maybe the industry of wireless earphones are overpriced in general. But then it wouldn't only be Apple that's overpriced, all companies are at it then. Personally for what you get I don't think they're that expensive and yes I own many audio products.

You can choose AirPods in the audio volume menu bar, it just takes a second to show up sometimes. No need to enable the BT menu!

Regarding 2:10 issue: Nowhere does it tell you that you have to wear them both. If you take one out, you can just resume playback on your device and pocket the one you took out (or only insert one pod in the first place). As a 2018 update for (Series 3 watch at least), when playback is in progress, the default function of the crown wheel is to adjust volume.

You don’t have to enable Bluetooth to see them in the menu bar. Just click the speaker icon, and it’ll show sound source options!

One of the things I like about these is the fact that you get wireless headphones, combined with the comfortable design of Apple's newest earbud models. I mean you really gotta give it to Apple. Their newest earbud design is really comfortable.

You don't have to enable the bluetooth icon in the menu bar. If your software is up to date, the AirPods also appear when you click on the volume button in the menu bar.

Introducing the latest apple product: iCup. Rather than use a touch screen and international calling, or anything beyond 20 feet for that matter, we went with what we decided was best. And thats putting an apple logo on two cups and adding a string in between because you suckers will buy anything. Plus, its funny to spell and our intern laughs everytime someone spells its name. so please, make our intern laugh, because we dont pay him and he lives in the janitors closet because its the only thing he can afford to rent.

The wired Apple earbuds sound great for 30 bucks, I use them on my Note 5. They are like disposable nice quality buds to me, fits perfectly in my ear, good sound and bass and if my dog chew a set it's only $30.

OLBastholm Even the $25 Xiaomi set doesn't cut it for me. There's a $9 Apple buds clone on Amazon with 5/5 rating from 100+ customers that sound better than the "expensive" Xiaomi". But fit is important, so if you like them good for you.

I never got why you can't use Siri without being connected to the internet, especially since Siri doesn't need it. There have been plenty of times where i've been out of data (but still had 4G on), or connected to wifi that had no internet connection, and used siri to "call home" or "turn on low power mode" just fine. It makes things annoying when I turn off data to save battery life but all of a sudden can't turn it back on with Siri, and have to navigate through the menus

I used to be an apple user in '13, then i took a samsung to the knee. I couldn't afford the surgery to get it removed because I just bought the newest apple device so i had to learn to live with the samsung. Every year it gave me more options and increased it's processing speed until the lines between phone and tablet were blurred. Today that samsung evolved into a Note9. I never looked back to apple after that fateful day, when i took a samsung to the knee

This is a great review. I didn't realise about that volume adjustment limitation. That is a deal breaker for me. Awful! I used some airpods for the first time last week and they're better than expected sound wise but nothing extraordinary. Overrated. Good, but overrated.

This is so outdated (I know it’s from 2016) but in Bluetooth settings you can now customize each AirPod left and right to have different command. Next track, previous track, pause/play, Siri .. instead of what was in video where it just had pause and play Siri and off
