Dude you shoulda had someone drive your car with the air tag in it while you stayed at a certain location. Not drive with it… we wanna see how it’s gonna work when we’re not close to it…

any distence i think it just uses phone towers cos that blokd list his car it was over 100miles away

Just bought one of these from Target. When I pulled the tab, my phone quickly did pairing and I labeled it as “keys”. When I attempted to test it, my phone didn’t even show it on my list of devices. So, I tried to pair it again… no connection. Tried a new battery. There was a beep and nothing on my list of devices. How disappointing!

I once had to cutaway a brand new $2300 parachute and it sat lost in the forest for over a year before found moldy and wholes from the sun burnt into it. I’m wondering if one of these air tags would solve that problem for skydivers? I guess it would also help in case gear was stolen ? From what I’m seeing online, my phone would have to be very close for it to work?

if your phone is close to the airtag then it is worthless test, because it is using yoiur phone, you have to put it in another car with no phone close by and test if it uses other mobiles on the highway

Got 2 air tags for Christmas. I. Don’t believe they become active when separated from a paired IPhone automatically, however going to Findmy. It will show location of IPhone and paired AirTag
