+TopToad meh, the design is good but they did lose a lot of good thing for their ultra thin design. Like a decent keyboard, might as well be typing on the touch screen of an ipad
"let's remove everything so you need an adapter and sell the adapter separately so if you want to plug in things you normally use you need to give us more money. Also let's not put any fans, just a bunch of battery so it can heat up for things like iMovie." "but why?" "cause we gotta make it thin! Also lets take off that light on the apple logo that looks so cool!" PS, Not saying it can't run iMovie fast and well, but it'll get hella hot when doing it.
I need to get a mac for school next year but have never owned one before.. Would one of these models be good enough for school work? I'm a little worried about only one USB port...
I'm still sticking to what I said about it last year, it's some amazing technology and really have a lot of potential, but it's not worth the price, YET!! I believe 2 or 3 generations later, it would be great!! nonetheless, you did a great job breaking this upgraded model, Mike :D keep it up :)
This is really the best review of Macbook 2016 available on the net. I have seen a couple of reviews by other guys (MKBHD, TLD) but this video of yours explain everything very well. Keep up the good work.
0% regret getting one. I use it so much more than my Pro just because of its portability. Simply grab and go. I've never had issues with lags or overheating. I'm so accustomed to its amazing silence that I now pick up fan speed sounds on other computers I used to not notice.
+DetroitBORG Hello I have been recently been looking into getting a MacBook and what MacBook would you recommend? MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, or the MacBook? I would use it for browsing the Internet (RU-vid, Netflix, Instagram, iTunes, etc) and some homework (google drive, google docs, and sometimes slideshows.) Also how many GB because I don't use too much storage because between my iPad (1st generation) and my iPhone 6 I have used only 32.6 GB. I also have concerns about the 12" MacBook because it has no fan because sometimes I can go for hours with my iPad and browse the Internet and I'll sometimes Skype for hours on my iPad so like I said overheating and no fan is concerning. If you can please reply it would mean a lot to me and would help me to make my decision.
Oh man I've been waiting for this, love your videos! No matter how many reviews I watch of a certain product, I feel incomplete until I see your review... thank you so much!
Thank you, you have the best tech reviews, with your videos I will know exactly what I want, your reviews are so thorough and. You always speak positively, I watch your channel all the time and I have been dying to tell you
Something I always love about apple products especially the mac and the macbooks is the precision of the aluminum. In those up close shots it just looks so good
You r my favourite reviewer. ur accent, presentation and attention to details everything is so crisp and clear. Please review chinese phones like lenovo, xiaomi etc as well if you get time. Thanks for your effort
Thanks DetroitBORG.. i cant afford any of the products (specially apple) you review but you give me the feel of it.. You're the best tech reviewer in the world.
The reason is due to the thinness of the display. If you compare the webcam to another super thin and small laptop the asus zenbook its webcam is actually better
honestly, I have this MacBook. I wanted a mac that wouldn't be to heavy. that will be easy to cary around. something I can use as a daily computer with having all the bulk. I love this MacBook the dongle thing isn't a deal breaker for me. I have the 512 core M5 processor. to my experience; it is as good as a MacBook Air. I would have gotten a pro but I don't really need all that power. this MacBook is perfect for my needs.
Please please please don't just show the speed test software with the numbers; show actual, live, workflows. Open stuff, move stuff, edit stuff etc. It's how the laptops compare in real life use that truly demonstrates what consumers will see. Love you man, easily the best reviewer on RU-vid (except OzzyMan but he doesn't do tech!)
Unfortunately too many companies still include optical drive in their laptops. IBM was one of the first to leave it out in their Thinkpad X40. That was in 2004...
Just have to say i love your reviews!!! Nice camerashots, very detailed and .. i know that may sound weird you have a nice voice for the job!!! Voice is important to me when it comes to reviews. Keep going budy!!! Greetings from Germany
Am i the only one who don't care at all about there only being one USB C port? I can't even remember the last time i plugged something in a USB port on a laptop that wasn't a mouse.
drum patel yeah like HP, intel, Dell, msi and whatever. Apple doesn't do it. Sometimes youtubers get dbrand apple products with skins on them to promote their service.
you are the man! every single video you post its just amazing thanks again for the great content...looking back at the videos and there you are, an answer to my doubts... thank you Detroitborg.
+Chalklate Technologies getting thinner and more powerful. So as a result, they make thinner products. Don't judge a computer my it's appearance... jerk
no observe its specs....it can turbo boost upto 2.7ghz means tat it has all the power hidden under the hood wen under light usage but once it getz loaded up....it turbo boosts and these are best processor because of power saving cores clocked at 1.1ghz wen browsing nd 2.7ghz turbo boost wen editing video or under work load.....imagine they can even render 4k videos...
I'm at a total loss as to why people slate Apple products. In our household we have been using Apple for now 4 yrs and not of piece of equipment has let us down. Great products.
+Ali Hassan neither of these good for me. if I had the choice, of course I would take the Mac book pro.. however, I think that apples laptops are way too expensive for what u get.. seriously, Intel 1.1 gigahertz CPU for 1200-1600 dollars?!
I personally love the design of the MacBook because it is so clean and the Space Grey looks so good! I just don't like the screen size. It is a bit small for me. I would prefer the 15" MacBook Pro for the size, but not for the price. For an iPhone, I prefer the 4.7" because it is big enough to have lots of content on the screen, but still fits in my pocket. For an iPad I like the 9.7" because it is big enough that I can enjoy consuming media, but not too big that I can't play games.
+Graham Clarence So many great options for everybody. I definitely like my Phones and Desktop displays big but laptops small and light...tablets are seldom useful to me.
***** yeah when you have a desktop and a laptop I can see why, but when your main computing machine is a laptop, a tablet is nice for we browsing and whatnot because you likely have a big laptop, and that is not too convenient to bring around the house with you.
