A lot of people complain about the prices of mac's......but you have to realize that Apple brings you the best all around hardware and research money can buy. Plus you will never lose money when you go to sell it. Unlike windows laptops which loses all it's value the moment you leave the store.
jankof76 exactly -_-. I wanted a mac but i looked on ebay and a mid 2008 macbook AIR costs around 500 British Pounds. That's around 700 American dollars.
+jankof76 "Best all around hardware" okay for 800 EUROS i could get a AMD R9 380 a AMD FX-8350 8gb RAM 750 watt for the power and just 100-200 euros more and you got mouse keyboard and monitor so yeah of course macs are always "better"
This is my absolute favorite computer I've ever had because it does everything so nicely but actually has many ports that I use often unlike the recent models.
I bought this laptop 3 weeks ago.late 2013 model. It has the best keyboard apple has designed and the best charging connetor ever. Runs like new and does everything i need it to do no problem.
***** Yeah I realize that it keeps getting better but I'm not going to wait another year to buy it because then you will be perpetually waiting for the next one it always gets better :)
Yeah, tech is always getting better. But Apple only REDESIGNS the MacBook Pro about every 3 years, and in between those 3 years they only come out with minor tweaks, like different memory of different processor.
To make it simple, it's basically something that allows several applications to be open at one time without the computer lagging or getting slow. The more RAM the more applications u can have open at one time. Hope this helped.
Perfect laptop: This beauty with 16 GB Ram, 500 SSD, Dedicated graphics, and running Windows via bootcamp because I just can't get used to Mavericks or Mac OS in general.
Gabriel Laurenzi Is it not more a mental decision to spend that much on a macbook just to run windows on it when you can get any windows machine for far less than 1000 and with ridiculously large memory on now?
Gabriel Laurenzi PS I love Apple and want to change to the MacBook so I'm not a defender of Windows lol. I just mean for someone who *does* want to use Windows lol.
This is $699.99 refurbished with a 12 month warranty from “Decluttr” with 512GB SSD + 16GB RAM... that’s the price of the Mac Mini with M1 and 8GB RAM/256GB SSD... really makes ya wonder what’s a better deal.
Omg I acc feel so sad watching these type of videos cause I'm dying for one of these bit my mum won't buy me one lol but I love to see how they work out then save up my own money and buy one :)
I like how they carry the super high configs in the retail stores so you can avoid having to wait like a week for it to be built and sent to you when you use the website lol.
You say you cant upgrade RAM and you have to send the mbp to Mac service to do that and thats BS!!! I upgrade my late 13 15" my self, just pick out the ram and pull in the new one.
I know this was posted 10 months ago BUT actually on april space grey gold and silver macbooks are coming out but they are 12 inch' there is not much info about it but we know that new macbook is coming in 2015
Just bought one of these and looking for a good Blu ray player and software to play blu rays, convert codes, and rip blu rays on MAC OS. What do you recommend?
Yes, it's slightly heavier, but only slightly. What I like most of all is how the body isn't tapered from back to front like the Air. It's a solid piece of symmetrical aluminum, and it just feels so well built.
In their defense, soldering components to the motherboard and ditching apparati for removing/replacing memory aids them to produce a thinner body for the device among other advantages. Typically, the rule of thumb with an expensive machine like this is to pay a bit extra and make the specs over-accommodating for your needs to it better serves you in the future.
Lol it's like self-imposed mental torture on myself seeing as I can't afford one at the moment but can't bring myself to stop looking at RU-vid videos about them lol. I'm running out of videos at this point haha!
Lol between Microsoft & Windows and then Apple and OS X and MacBook Pros - all of them make me want a MBP - craving one right now lol.. I know how painful it is that if I could buy myself one and one for you too and still have money in the bank I'd do it for you haha! :P
Lol, the Nvidia 750m is free in the Macbook Pro. I was bored earlier, poking around Apple's website and I added the 2.3 ghz cpu, 16 gb of ram, and 512 gb hard drive to the "cheaper" 15 inch Pro. Both the slightly specked Pro with only Iris graphics and the base Pro with the Nvidia graphics are $2,599.00.
I wish I got one of the retinas but I'm still happy with my non-retina 13" since I've upgraded my RAM and the hard drive from 4GB of ram to 8GB and my hard drive from 500GB HDD to 960GB SSD. Still better than my dad's $2,000 Dell Precision.
I agree with design, the 'superior operating system' is literally down to personal preference and what you'll actually be using it for and a lot of laptops have really nice screens out there. I imagine the parts are of a high quality, undoubted that Macbook Pros are professionally crafted.
DetroitBORG, do you have the magical ability to sneeze money at will. Its like you are a wizard or something. Do you plan on reviewing the new Mac Pro?
I've been watching your channel for about 6 months now. And I have to say you're really good with your descriptions of different products. You cover everything possible and you make it sound simple. So thank you for your videos and I'm looking forward to the next 6 months :-)
Obviously it really depends on your major and your intended use. If you're not doing anything graphic design or engineering related then don't bother with a Macbook pro. Get the 13'' air, it has excellent battery life and is very fast. If you're doing graphic design or possibly engineering then you really should get a dedicated GPU which leaves your with the high end 15'' retina. I carry my 15'' retina around campus everyday and it's really not that bulky or heavy. Hope this helps.

I have the most upgraded version of a Macbook Pro 15" with 1TB of space and it worth every cent. :-)
Stop complaint it doesn't have a DVD drive its fixable buy getting Apples SuperDrive or even a $20 USB DVD drive at Best Buy by LG. many laptops don't have DVD drives either.
OMG! Thank you so much! I was at Best buy and I was on one of them and my brother so I saw the price for the retina display so Im just going to save up and buy it. Can you buy the retina display at best buy?
Honestly, I'd say it's expensive but not necessarily overpriced. The $2599 model has a 512GB PCIe SSD and 16GB of RAM in addition to dedicated graphics and a quad-core i7. Those are pretty high end specs, and it gets expensive when you fit them into a laptop of this form factor. Add the IPS Retina display, the new free software, and Apple's profit margin, and you've got a pricey notebook.
I'm getting the 15 with gtx GeForce or the hp envy or dell xps 15 but for now I still want the Mac for Christmas but still have to make research but I think this is it
If you're comparing the new upper end MBPr15 to the baseline 2012 model, the benchmarks will be misleading. Compare the baseline 2012 model to the baseline 2013 model. I doubt there will be any significant increase in performance besides the faster ssd.
Thank you for confirming I didn't loose my mind yesterday - just a major dent in the wallet since I got the same exact model you got. Tomorrow I'll get to my new pride and joy while I carefully do everything you've just shown me - thanks:)
Damn with all these products he probably has a room that filled with all this devices. I mean if you go and see DetroitBORG's videos you'll see mostly every single product in the world. Yup he has a huge room filled with all this. #Rich.
More GHz means more heat, more electricity being drawn and the more chance of harming the processor's longevity. This all adds to the bulk of such computer.
