I know! I have a desktop that I built myself as well and I got a Macbook pro from my school. They are both great, but very different!

If only everyone could just appreciate the pros and cons of each brand/product without bashing/flaming it, then the internet would be a better place. I use and enjoy Apple (the whole experience), but their hardware is definitely overpriced. The build quality is top notch, but the CPU should at least be a Quad Core i7 with an Iris Pro for this kind of cash. I'll get it anyway because I really enjoy OSX and the Dual Core + Iris is sufficient for my development work. But honestly, they should lower the price, or add that Quad Core + Iris Pro for this price.

The display is incredible... I already had a Macbook from 2008, this is a whole another experience... To be fair, I practically spent 1000bucks/euros... I sold my old macbook for 350€ and Im student, that means apple drops about 200€ for that... I thought 1000 bucks for this machine is great... If you are not interested in high resolution display with tremendous viewing angles, you should consider buyin a macbook air oder the normal macbook pro... the retina version is lighter and has more power in it... ATTENTION u cant update the Ram on Airs and Retinas...

Couldn't agree more, especially since some people, such as myself, are not storage fiends. If you run out of storage, there are cloud and external options; whereas, if you find yourself needing more memory, there's nothing you can do about it. I'm waiting for a refurb of the the model you bought to appear in the Apple Store.

Worth it, buy it on eBay you should be able to find a great deal. I found mine in a very good condition and was very cheap because it has an cracked apple logo (Not the screen but the logo that lights up) so it was very very cheap but the screen has no delamination.

I'd say stick to Apple for laptops if you want to do everything including a bit of heavy gaming but for heavy gaming, you can't go wrong with a dedicated gaming desktop, thats my view anyway. I used to chase after the most powerful laptops but its not really worth it when sacrificing battery life/form/lightness and size. I'm looking to buy my first Mac system, likely the 13 inch MacBook Pro with a 256GB SSD/8GB RAM/i5 CPU which is beastly for a laptop with great battery life, I had considered the 15 inch but its just too expensive, has less battery life on average and I just don't game on the go as heavily as i do a desktop.

Hackintosh ? My experience with it is kinda ok , but it comes confusing when you need to do this and that and bla bla bla ,,, And most wifi cards on new laptops are not supported in OS X.. if your using a desktop , you need this and that and bla bla bla , so after a year , I find it easy..

I thought that too. Then I got one... took a few days to get the handle of it, but never looked back. Of course, you can always use Bootcamp for Windows too. But I don't need to.

Transferring documents has never been an issue for me, if it's application-based then use Bootcamp or another emulator.
