It's nice that you show the internal tab and talk about so many in deep insight talks where other RU-vid completely ignore and just repeat the same things to get views!
If it didn't have RFID blocking, people would accidentally pay with a card inside while they are trying to use apple pay. I'd say the RFID has a strong functional purpose here because of that.
@William Harris valid point. I would prefer a version without rfid for building access card. Imagine have to remove card every time u need to enter the building.
For most people I know it couldn't be an everyday wallet, but for use when you want to go light and portable - say weekends, when I'm on foot in the city, it suits me very well.
I’ve had two. One of the first ones and now a new one. They are great! Works exactly as it’s supposed too and is perfect as I don’t need to carry too many cards with me and I rarely use cash anymore. The wallet stays on my phone (I use a MagSafe case too) and had never fallen off (either version I’ve used). The rfid is great too. I love it.
after starting to use the app „wallet“ regularly, I found that 3 card slots are actually enough (id, driver’s license, keycard) - I personally feel that is how it is meant to be used.
here in brazil, a driver's license can also be used as an identity. it is not necessary to take the identity out of the house. wallet with 3 slots is enough.
@@GabrielDorcino Same in Europe, Asia and Australia. All you need is One ID card type, and one card just in case some shops do not take contactless, or to withdraw in case they don't take cards at all. Plus in the US majority oh the States are implementing IDs and Driving Licences on Apple Pay, so one more card to keep safe at home.
My only complaint is that I wish the “Find My” feature was better. It doesn’t allow for tracking like an AirTag. There have been moments where my wallet has fallen off and I couldn’t find it. Like recently I went to a concert in LA and I guess when I went to go take a picture it came off when taking it out of my front pocket. Luckily someone turned it in to Lost and Found.
Honestly it’s expensive but I really like it because of how it grips & holds the cards. It’s super minimal & nobody offers anything just as good on the market right now. Especially if it is a MagSafe.
Work ID and State ID for me… everything else is in digital wallet. Cant wait till my state approves putting my State ID in my digital wallet. Now that would be nice
Yo Mark, I did 😂 at the reference to 🤲🏻 that made me laugh. He’s brilliant. Also, I wouldn’t swap out cards. Just lob a wallet in your bag. That’s the done thing nowadays apparently I see. According to all these young whipper-snapper videos anyway 😯
Do you think if the wallet did stretch, after some use, the cards would slip out easily? On that note, i feel you should also review wallets basis on how good they are with minimum carry instead of the usual maximum cards/cash insertion test.
Great idea, thank you. With the tab placement, I suspect that cards would still hold pretty good, but stretching is always a risk. I have another MagSafe wallet that's full grain veg tanned, no lining and it does pretty well too, but with how it's stretched with my cards, if I take one out, they do fall out.
@@Paa375 I would agree with that, the tab was a great idea to keep cards in. If other wallets did that, they could stretch and allow card reduction without losing cards.
i have exactly the same, the magnet works perfectly on a leather casing. but if direct sticking onto the phone without leather casing, it will slip off. through my experiment. 😃
No worries samsung user and I think I would have mine coming off all the time great idea wallets on back of phones have been out for a while just not for me good review fair score
Honestly for people who use Apple Pay like me I just carry my ID and I get plenty of room for up to 5 well folded any denomination bills. I have the updated version that is Find My capable and also the magnet seems to be way stronger than the original model, haven’t had any issues with the wallet detaching when sliding my phone into skin tight jeans with tight pockets. I haven’t had problems with my cash falling off either. Great wallet
With my real MagSafe case for my iPhone the wallet literally snaps into place and is hard to move. Anywhere other than the mag area it will fall off easily. Im not sure why people haven’t been truthful about how it works. You need a phone case with “MagSafe” built into it not a regular phone case for it to work properly.
The phone case I use is an Apple case. Smart wallet makers will use the specifications and certification for the N45 magnet outlined by Apple. Same thing goes for case manufactures so they properly support MagSafe. If not, then yes, the hold might not be good.
If you clean the Vallet with wet paper towel or damp cloth, will there be a dye/color bleeding/transfer on cloth or paper towel? If the vallet gets wet or touched by sweaty hands, do you think there will be a dye/color bleeding/transfer? Thank You 👍🏻
hi walletopia, after so many reviews, which wallet do you recommend for the slimmest, lightest and can carry all notes, 8-10 cards and 10-15 coins, and requires no complicated steps to use?
Like all Apple products, overpriced for what you get, and you have to comply with their ideas of how to use them. No thanks to having to swap cards out all the time. Thanks for another quality review, Mark!
Montblanc also has a similar product and it’s a great alternative to apple’s. Also made in china tho but quality, material, fit and finish and stitching durability are miles better.
What's the point having RFID on it, you want it on the back for tap and go transport card or credit card cannot believe they gave blocking on it. Lol. Rather get a $2 silicone stick on one that will do a better job. And I can use it for my public transport travel card. Oh wait that's what I do use :)
Can pick these wallets up online for £5. They look exactly the same, and do exactly the same job. Both probably made in the same place in China. They're both Leather. Why would anyone spend £40 for an apple logo!? I can't believe in 2023 people are still falling for this.
Indeed, I was disappointed by no patina or real wear and tear. I don't abuse my wallets or phone cases, so major scuffs or rubbed off leather wouldn't happen unless I carried it for a couple years.
@@walletopia wipe it down with rubbing alcohol and get that top layer off. Then run in lanolin shoe wax. Watch the magic happen. These cases just need a little help. They turn into beautiful things when the leather is worked in right. It just takes a little elbow grease. Thank me later
Dude… theres reason why its for three cards and its cos its apple - they dont expect users to need their credit cards in the wallet as they have apple wallet app .. youre just supposed to use this one for your id , house key card and one additional one maybe ( just an example) .. and your dislike “cannot wirelessly charge” 😅😅😅 of course it cannot as its on the back of the phone and oh my god “felt limiting” .. its just not for you and thats okay
Behavior correction, Apple's good at that. Interestingly enough, I've stuck with other MagSafe wallets since that review as I've liked the limited card requirement. It's not always accommodating, but that's the niche they wanted. I'll have a review of the top 8 MagSafe wallets coming in a few weeks.
My problem with this is that I could not get my cards out for like 5 minutes at a pizza place, everyone staring at me while I struggle to push my cards out lol.
Been using one of these since they came out, and I agree, it's a task trying to whittle down your cards to just three, BUT, so used to it now that I'm comfortable with the system. I like the wallet so much I have four of differing colours and I will be the knob to buy the latest version with Find My. Meh, my money, do what I want LOL. I find it seems to work better with the silicone covers. Maybe I see something that's not there. Good video mate.
