Well, the price is cheap, considering that same-spec monitors from Sony, EIZO etc go to $20K (for even smaller monitors). Key word: same spec, it's not just the resolution.
Just think about the money he makes with the videos he is producing through that high end gear. Yeah he spend big, but youtube is a snowball. You make money with every klick on every video you have produced ever. His new videos get way more attention, yes, but it is still to be considered. He can do that, because his work pays him back and he did it for years without being able to support his life through his work. That was years of dedication. I get your point though.
@@imsubbbingtoeveryonewhosub8578 Meaning darker irises absorb more photons? Probably, but wouldn't help much since it's the retinas which we get the images from.
To be honest, I had one of these. They were just rubbish and totally unstable for two 25 inch monitors. Really flimsy and cheap. But yeah... I assume for about 100 bucks you'll get a satisfying stand :D Ten times the price is a true rip off. Dell includes very nice stands in their Ultra Sharp series btw.
@@SR89 Yeah for $300 you can get Ergotron Dual Monitor Arms which are astoundingly stable, look very modern, have all the accessories, and move in any direction. For $1700 less than two Apple stands that don't even swivel I would take Ergotron every day.
If you’re buying the display, i think money doesn’t matter. Apple really played a calculated hand. I for one, would really want the safest option with such material, if the stand breaks and the display falls to the ground, i could get the whole thing replaced...i’m pretty sure using a 3rd party stand would avoid the warranty on the display, for sure!
How could you not like MKBHD, he comes across as such a wholesome guy without being cheesy. He's the kind of friend you'd love to bring home to mom so she quits worrying about you.
3:46 that satisfying reveal of the screen just showed me how dirty my screen is. like literally the black background made the bits of dust on my screen pop right out
Any reasonable human being would wait 2 months for the manufacturers to sell stands for 10% of the Apple price but he's a RU-vidr and he needs to get it right now.
Not as poor as MKBHD. He got two monitor but he cant even configure them properly because of the color shifting issue. One of them will always have off colors.
mkbhd when it comes to: every other brand: that's straight up robbery apple: the package so nice, the box design so nice, the magnets so nice, everythings perfect
@@brunoalc5422 It can be, depending on what you want to do in life. I wouldn't go for a new Mac Pro though. A used trashcan or an iMac would serve most people well for quite some time. At 19 I spent all my savings on the best computer I could afford instead of going to university. Very happy with that decision.
@@MorpClips You can if work hard but tbh load of crap for the same price I can get two High-end Gaming pc with the best gaming monitor on the market and still have money left over. Plus in a couple of years, this shit gonna be worth like 800 dollars.
I mean, I don't think workstation grade displays are something aimed for the general consumer. I would still buy the Pro Display XDR. It's priced competitively for the specs you get.
It's for people who need color accuracy to render video or stills. It also has incredible HDR specs for a display of this size considering it has 576 dimming zones at a nit peak brightness of 1600nits and sustained 1000 nits. The resolution is already stupidly high for people who need the screen real estate. This is clearly not for the regular consumer but go on. Top of line Mac Pro is a workstation with Validated hardware. Of course it's going to cost that much. Just look at HP/PUGET/DELL workstations. They will run you up the same amount or more.
@Sam Yaza for one the Radeon VII uses HBM. What it doesnt have is ECC support for the HBM. Another thing, the vega duo on the mac pro has dual GPUs in one video card communicating through infinity fabric. It also has 32GB of HBM per GPU so imagine 4 GPUs with 128GB of HBM2 total. It's overbuilt with highend VRM so that it can supply an ample amount of power when you are stressing the shit out of the system. Mac pro also users Apples own asic afterburner which helps offload some of rendering job to the asic. These are system are designed and validated to work under torturous workload. Maybe some random dude can just make his own rig. Thats entirely up to that person. In that case, this rig is not for you. This is a rig for people with big teams who need the guarantee that their equipment is going to work and run through stressfull project workloads.
While I admit the technology itself is amazing, but do professionals actually need these? Like how far up there do you need to be for company to think you will need these or for yourself to say these are important for your career.
Nakanowatari any professionals who work with color or light sensitive footage will need a good display. Companies like Marvel or Dreamworks are the exact audience that Apple is targeting with these products.
Marques, I’m hoping that you can respond, since you’re one of the few who actually owns the display with the matte nano-texture finish. (1) Compared to the same monitor with a gloss finish, do you think the matte finish diminishes crisp detail or color even to a slight degree? (2) There have been reports that the new matte finish is so fragile it can only be cleaned with the cloth provided by Apple. Apparently no liquid, including water or lens cleaner, can be used to clean any spots on the display. I guess Apple assumes that none of us will ever have a cold or sneeze while working in front of the display. Or that we will never accidentally leave any fingerprints by touching the display when moving it or working with it. Because those type of spots or fingerprints can’t be removed only by using a cleaning cloth. In your opinion is the display so fragile that it could never be cleaned even with plain water? A display that is so fragile that it can be cleaned only with the special cloth provided by Apple doesn’t sound very practical given its high price.
Christiano Tioyus :::::::::::::::::::::::::::>>>>> :If Steve Jobs we’re alive again and saw the notched Iphone, IPad, etc. He would die all over again !
yeah like 1000 more $$ well spend if you ask me the nano machines are nano anti reflecting the light so you couldnt nano see it with your no nano eyes , if you buy a nano I-EYE it will make sense .
Lew is definitely not getting anything from Apple. There needs to be a blind acceptance for getting a $53,000 Mac Pro and a $6,000 XDR Display. I see no problem with that.
lol Apple will never send one over to Lew. He is way too honest with his audience, ain't gonna praise the product just because of branding. They didn't send them the new iPhone for exactly that reason.
The Asus Pro Art has basically the same specs at 4K for half the price, as it was the first hdr mini led pro 32" display, that inspired apple to make the xdr display. Apple however lacks Dolby vision and that is huge for movie makers. Dolby Vision, this is a game changer, much better value for 4K video editing, than the Apple XDR without Dolby Vision.
A 4K screen has less than half the pixels of a 6K screen (1.5*1.5=2.25), so 4K for half the price would be a higher price per pixel. (Not that anyone cares about that metric, of course.)
@@geertbosch2778 I have never heard anyone say 6k did not have more pixels or use perpixel pricing t I justify higher prices if the same basic tech in these screens. If we go there than it will not go well for apple phones oled and mini led and led laptops which are on the lower resolution scale compared to 4k+ 16/10 laptops Sony 4k phone samsung 1440p plus galaxy phones who by the way makes apple panels. Nit to mention 8k dell panels etc. Also you are forgetting the stand. Not to mention ridiculous expensive wheel and screen coating options. And of course the extra pixels help but are not needed when editing a one to one 4k video especially us a laptop is used for the app and the monitor for the actual content. Photo editing maybe.
