Man, this struck home for me. I spend the first 9 years of my life in a house 2 blocks from long ridge park. Early 90s and my dad had one of the first brick cell phones his company gave him. We went sledding by the water tower and a random kid broke his ankle snow boarding. We were the only ones able to call an ambulance . Seeing this brings back some amazing memories and a tear to the eye. Haven’t been back in 20 years, but it was a great childhood place to grow up.

That’s so cool to hear! My parents made my brother wear a bright pink hat so they could see him on the longe ridge sledding hills from our house! Haha

@@ToTheTwinCities ha that’s awesome! We were on Heywood Way. Our backyard was a pond where we’d skate in winter but walk a few blocks for sledding at the park. Good times

I was fortunate to go through the District 196 school system as the community started blooming. My kindergarten was in an ordinary house. Once it was time to go to 1st grade, I was in Southview Elementary. Did my five years there, then moved to the new middle school next door. Did my 8th grade, and then it was off to the new AVHigh. I never used lockers or books, etc. I was fortunate to be in AV when it was booming. When I was young, and no houses were behind us, I saw skiers on Buckhill from our window. They looked like ants, but I could still see them; not now!

Growing up I could also see buck hill from our front yard! My sister still lives in the same house, and we can still see it!

Hey Jesse, thinking of moving to Minnesota, Twin Cities area with my partner and young baby and just wondering if you could do a video on maybe best neighbourhoods to bring up a family. This Area seems pretty good though so might check it out a bit more, loving the videos there great!

Have you ever done a contract for deed in MN and/or know if it would be worth it/what the hidden costs are? That would make a great video if you don’t already have one. Some peeps like myself can’t afford even a 3% down payment so I would be curious if it would be saving more than renting to start owning a home that way. Edit to add: I have really good credit and a job at the very least. 😂

I don’t have a video on contract for deed, (this is not financial advice), usually contract for deed requires a larger down payment that traditional lending though. You should check out my video on down payment assistance! There are ways to get into a home with as little as $1,000 out of pocket through a lender with down payment assistance!
