I have used the Ultra for roughly 77 hours [start at 97% on 09/28/22 @ 7AM] with consistent usage (text, phone, compass, Wayfinder, Shazam, steps app & sleep) the battery is currently sitting at 17% [end 10/01/22 @ 12:18AM]. I am so happy with the battery boost with an ultra along with the structural strength of the watch itself.
Agreed. I dropped mine face down on the pavement (accidentally) and it just scratched the titanium case. If that was my series 7 or other AW I have owned, the crystal would have shattered.
I agree. I think both are amazing in there own ways, but the biggest difference not mentioned here is that AWU gives you great metrics and is very accurate but doesn’t really tell you what to with those metics. He is vastly underselling how good the health metrics on the WHOOP 4.0 is and they actually give you real feedback on what to do with these metrics. BUT I know the whoop crushing AWU video is coming so 🙌🏻
@@phxntomplanet This video isn't about smart watches though it's about the fitness tracking capabilities of both. And because they offer that, despite there being a lot of differences (which I mention in the video and it's near unfair comparison to start with) people asked for it. So I did it.
I’m none of those either. But I am a photographer that can be outdoors for 12 hours or more, so for me the series 6 I had would be running so low by the end of the day I decided to buy the ultra. My series 6 had 98% battery health so I gave it to my daughter. She honestly thought it was brand new. Long story short I’m happy and my daughter is very happy 😂
Not a fair comparison as mentioned… I’d put the Ultra against a Garmin Fenix 7x/Enduro 2. Don’t know whether that’d be fair as well as the battery life on the Garmin watches destroy the Ultra which is its biggest weakness imho. Appreciate the clip nevertheless. If only the Whoop were a 10 buck a month subscription fee…
I’m not an advanced athlete but I’m not a beginner. I like lifting, cardio and light sports. I like the whoop for recovery, but I like the Apple Watch better as a device. Can I replace my whoop with the Apple Watch with their recovery app?
On the Ultra does it show calories u use each day??I can’t find tht. But right now i am using the apple SE. i do also like the fact i can change out bands and overall colors on the Whoop. I know silly thing but… its not like i have the same thing all the time. How do u get around the watch on ur wrist when using KB’s? Whenever i tried it, it was always banging my watch and just made everything uncomfortable under the watch. Just looking for all different kinds of inputs. I to have been using the whoop since 3.0 and getting rid of tht monthly fee would be nice. Thanks for the video!
Solid vid brotha, I currently use an Apple Watch series 5. I’m looking to upgrade but idk if I want to get the Ultra or a Whoop 4.0. I’ll be waiting for the next videos you mentioned! Thx
I cancelled my whoop after little over a year of membership and using it daily. There was no costumer gratitude within my time frame of staying member, there was no "Hey we valued your time with us, here a discount for a new band if you would reconsider staying" it's literally just a gross business greedy company. I under stand, it is a business and it needs to generate money. Literally I ended up feeling that they were just grabbing my money for the sake of grabbing my money. I now have a Apple Watch Ultra, initial cost is a TON higher, but no monthly subscription after, and it is a better product.
Hi Barndon, thanks for the great video! May I ask for your wrist size and especially the measurements (millimetres) of your top flat portion of the wrist, where the watch "sits"?😁
Thats a really amazing points to the apple watch , and cant wait to see the new upcoming videos on how the whoop can crush the apple watch but what really matters can we see a video about how they can work together 🤔 note i have the whoop and the apple watch ultra
Excellent video! I’ve been using the iPhone widgets of Whoop and Athletic to compare each other directly (Ultra vs Whoop). I’m also trying out Welltory and Humanity with my Ultra.
I have been using Whoop for 4 years now and owned the Oura ring and the data from the whoop was way better. This video has me very hopeful because for 30 a month, o can purchase the ultra and it doesn't much more. My question... Will Athlytics and or the watch record my heart data 24/7 as long as it's on my wrist? Or will it only record data during an activity or during sleep?
Athletic - The HRV reading favours the mindfulness reading after waking which is only 1 reading - not sure 1 reading can determine training readiness! I also tried doing 5 separate mindfulness readings in the hope it would average out the 5 readings but still the readiness still only used 1 reading. I have the AW5 maybe HRV in this app is designed for AWU ?
What if I hate wearing a screen on my wrist ! Haha jk . I’m going for the whoop regardless . But would love to see a vid where whoop crashes Apple Watch ! Haha
I really don’t think you can compare them, what can you do with your data, once you have it on the ultra, come on now, best smart watch and that’s it, but not the best sports watch ❌
@@BrandonTalbot the app that is now in the watch is pretty useless for diving (I am a diver) ... it doesn't give you the data you need (safety stops ...etc... ) oceanic + plus is not available yet ...
It’s pricey, so maybe 4 ways haha. I will say this, you can always finance the Apple Watch with an Apple Card, which is a monthly payment, or you can Finance a Whoop but you'll never own the whoop.
Apple Watch shits on Whoop any day of the week. After 6 months of using your Whoop you will be able to predict witch lifestyle habits & patterns are conducive to a healthy lifestyle for you and the band starts to become redundant. On top of that the recovery tracking and sleep tracking are not always accurate which is the reason why you're paying for a membership to begin with. Yeah, Apple doesn't lay it out for you nice and pretty like Whoop but there's apps for that, and you could just do a little research on your end and save yourself the cost of the monthly subscription by replacing it with a better and more capable product all together!
@@BrandonTalbot appreciate you doing this video, bro. I know they’re time consuming. I’ve been on fence about purchasing a Whoop or the Ultra. I just don’t want another monthly subscription fee (I’m talking you, Whoop).
@@christoigo3012 Yeah for sure man I just love that you enjoyed it! They are hard work but every job is hard. You can get whoop for free, I've got a video on it, but yeah if you use it long enough it gets expensive.
@@BrandonTalbot thanks for the info. I’ll definitely look into the Whoop again. Let me know if you do a comparison with Garmin too. Keep working hard, brother.
