This solution can be applied on the garden AT ANY TIME... the temperature of the garden does not matter... some of the microbes will go dormant until the conditions are right... the only temperature that matters is the BREWING temp... 75f is adequate... apply this solution with about one or two weeks in between applications...

Thank you Nate, I have been hammering some brand new beds with the JMS, my porch is like an assembly line of buckets and water off-gassing, the whole porch smells sort of like fresh bread. I have been cheating a bit by keeping some of the liquid to start the new buckets rather than replacing so much leaf mold. Works well for about four buckets and then it looses its luster of bubbles forcing me to start a brand new batch from scratch. Learning a lot from you videos, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

I found myself wanting to make this early season JADAM solution for my garden. My problem is it is late winter here and I don't have any leaf mold. So I decided to try an experiment. I found what I thought was leaf mold. I took some home and heated it at 83 degrees for two weeks. Then I used my heated leaf mold and followed the instructions from this video. In 48 hours i had the large bubbles and the surface was covered in foam.

The same thing applies to compost piles/bins. People get worried about the microbes dying during really cold winter, but they just go dormant. When temps rise again, they'll bounce back just fine.
@MikeBurri
@MikeBurri Год назад
Good video. So the micro-organisms that are making the action in your inoculate are yeasts. They occur naturally in compost base and then thrive with the addition of water, potato starch (carbohydrates) and warmth. So with the warmth the yeast metabolizes the potato carbohydrates producing CO2 (bubbles) and ethanol as well as going to work on many biological levels I cant understand to make plenty of soil goodness.

Thank you for your videos on Jadam. They gave me a lot of tips. I've been doing JMS and JLF for about a couple of years now. When it comes to the JMS it's really frustrating because for what seems like no rhyme or reason, I can put the SAME EXACT inputs (the leaf mold from the same place, the potatoes from the same place, and the sea salt from the same place) and sometimes it works perfectly. The bubbles are nice and thick and sometimes things happen and I'm able to not get to the JMS, but the bubbles still hold up for the next day to maintain its viablity, so it's not wasted. It's just that strong. Then there are other times it will start to bubble at the top and just completely fizzle out before they get really big and ready to be used. I just don't get it. I'm putting in the SAME EXACT inputs. What in the world is causing the difference? Is it the case, that in the instances where the bubbles fizzle out at the surface, the solution is still viable underneath the surface, so I should use it?!?! I've even bought an aquarium heater and the results are basically the same with out without it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I just don't get it. Is it the ratios? I don't know...I've heard you mention that it doesn't have to be that exact when it comes to measurements....so I'm just totally frustrated right now.

I believe you said still dilute (not neat/straight because it would be wasteful) the labs at 1oz per gal. when applying. Can you touch upon this again please, thanks in advance. 🙂 ((this question is all about no living roots in the ground)) 2nd question, can I add a shot of LABS to the JMS or should it be a separate application if at all?

After the microbes reach their peak and start to die, why can’t you add more food to prolong and increase their lives? If not , won’t they die in the soil? Especially if the soil temperature is considerably lower than their optimal 75 degrees, which it will be until spring? Thank you for all the information, you share.

there are many more factors at play... once the microbes peak thats it we have reached the zenith of amount and diversity of IMO's... introducing them into the soil begins a chain reaction of things and relationships are formed to incorporate the new life into the soil... many microbes simply go dormant at lower temps

I had to laugh when you said "Even though it's cold outside". It IS cold outside- about 24 degrees. But the cold isn't the problem, it's the five to seven feet of snow on the ground. And in the next two days we are going to get between four and a half to five and a half more feet of snow. We are about six miles from the South gate of Yosemite. If the power stays on we'll be fine, but these storms have convinced me to get my butt back down to the coast as soon as I can get out of here. (That's where my garden is anyway.)

I am trying to use compost to improve the soil, starting with dry leaves and green material and using a cold composting method at 20-35 degrees centigrade daily temperatures. I am wondering whether I can apply this microbe solution directly onto the composting leaves, to speed up the process of decomposition. Do you have any experience with this? Thank you

So will this solution help fix Hydrophobic soil? If not will you do a video on the best way to fix Hydrophobic soil? Our climate temps gets into 100° & above in the summer, how do we help keep that microbiom alive in the soil?

Good talk. Do we wait for the soil to warm up a bit before applying JMS, or will the microbes just sit dormant until it warms up? cheers.

it doesn't matter really just begin application about 5-8 weeks before planting and space a week apart

QUESTION: what about my garlic bed, strawberries, and other perennials? Should I do 5 full strength drenches? Or cut strength? This will be FIRST time applying JADAM. Decent soil but not good enough for me!! Lots of compost but need microbials and worms.

I do not think that will work because the JA are full of Inulin and not great starches for the microbes... use sweet potatoes if you have them even banana will work

There are studies published on line that show that the oxygen runs out long before the food runs out (even when using an aquarium bubbler to oxygenate the solution). I don’t understand how many of the organisms survive; how much organic matter (bacterial food) must be present in the soil when applying the solution? Is the plan that they will be dormant and ready to go when more organic matter is present in the spring?

Hi Nate, what do you think about using Jerusalem Artichokes instead of potatoes in the JMS?
@gardenlikeaviking
@gardenlikeaviking 11 месяцев назад
ive never tried it but I do not think it will work because the JA is made of a totally different substance called "inulin"... and it would not feed the IMO's nearly in the same way as the nice easy to digest starch of the potato

Hello thank you so much again for your videos and all of your wonderful knowledge💖🍃🌻🌱💖 I am here in Ohio getting excited for this growing season but also very concerned about the "accidents" that have been happening across the United States that may or may not be cause for concern 😟 I know you mentioned sunflowers are good for removing unwanted things from the soil but is there anything else you can think of that I should be doing to protect my soil and my garden 🙏💖 from the uncertain times we are living in ?? Also I love the survival Garden videos💖🙌👏 also I'm very excited to try some of that cheese you made 👌🤞 thank you again 💖🙏

Hello My Friend. Nate, you are a God send to this amateur gardener. Thank you for all that you do. I have a few questions. I think that I told you before that I'm in Colorado. This winter has been brutal. The ground has been frozen all winter. Unusual. Unfortunately, last year I didn't do any prep for the soil. I'm wanting to expand a bit this year. The question is (assuming I can get a pitchfork to make some holes in the frozen soil) will applying the JADAM JMS with our freezing temps be effective? Also Ive set up my grow tent in the basement like you showed us (man am I excited!!) right now the basement is at 20% humidity. I set up a humidifier with controller. However I'm not sure what % to set it at. Since we are a lot dryer than Indiana, I'm concerned that if I make it too humid the seedlings will be shocked at the dry conditions when I move them to the garden. What are your thoughts? Looking forward to joining your live stream. Take care my friend. Scott
@gardenlikeaviking
@gardenlikeaviking Год назад
go ahead and begin adding the microbial solutions 5 weeks before planting would happen... once a week up until plants are in the ground... that'll be adequate... 20% is quite low... set the humidifier at 50% so long as you have good airflow... they'll be ok when transplanting so long as you harden them off properly... you'll have success this year!

@gardenlikeaviking your opinion is adding in 5 times before is more effective is based on? . If we missed the 5 times.. JAdam said it's just as good and will still work... so where are you getting the 5 times before is much better?
