Capt Zac and I take our 2005 23 Contender Tournament out on April 17, 2024 to explore some new wrecks for the hard fighting tautog, aka blackfish aka tog We end up with other 15 keeper, keeping ONLY ONE for the table.
Great video Chris as usual. Really enjoy that black fishing myself I got my first DD this spring. I bought the pro togger from Paul . Love the Rod. 8lbs is my best fluke and the 10 is my goal also. I was on charter last week and one was caught. The captain says they are very far and few between , nothing like the tog DD’s. You can check out the gear he was caught on at the video I just posted. Just a custom 3 way with big blade. .7 drift. Oh yes my buddy I fish with has the ct. state record fluke at 15.6. Keep up the great work 👍👍🎣
Limit you guys don't keep. Best way to go. Maybe keep one or three for the table. If the family doesn't eat them? Couple fillets a piece . Good time. Glad you brought us along. God bless and safe travels
Hey Chris, I have a question for u that maybe you could give me some advice, on my trolling rods for tuna I'm changing the top shot to 130 lb mono ,does the color matter high vis yellow or blue or clear does it matter? ,I've always used mono .should i stay with mono over floro leaders for trolling.?
I am starting to transition to all fluoro leaders but our topshots are just mono. I like blue for my topshot and only have one as yellow hi vis as my shotgun so i can see it better
@@reaperfishingnj8623 I’m a newbie with this method as well but I have full confidence in this method. I caught a 30in. Bluefish and brainspiked, bled, then shinkei Jimed the fish. Left the filets on an elevated tray in my refrigerator for 4 days and then removed the bloodline and cooked it in just lemon and butter. Best bluefish I’ve ever had. Let me repeat that it was 4 days in the fridge. I even had a fish snob have some and also had nothing bad to say.
We have been to the canyons. but we hold 175 gallons. Twin engines obviously. and it's really a 25 footer. I also have thousands of hours spent offshore.
