Meateater & Steven Rinella are putting every single major Travel, Cooking, Hunting, and Fishing show on blast with this series. It's free and better quality than everything else out there. Network television will have a hard time matching shit like this.
I firmly believe that Steve Rinella is to Outdoorsmanship and Conservation, what Anthony Bourdain was to Culture and cuisine. I have pointed so many friends or family that have uninformed misconceptions about what hunting is, to his show. Because Steve has such a way with words to eloquently discuss and demonstrate what it means to be an outdoorsmen or woman and how spiritual it is to have that connection with what you put on your table. So Thank you! Steve and everyone that makes MeatEater possible.
It is so refreshing to see people who can eloquently portray the nuances of navigating the hunting and fishing landscape nowadays. I really hope everyone who enjoys the outdoors continues supporting everything you're collectively doing for the wild world at Meateater.
I grew up fishing the flats and lakes of Florida, and it makes me so happy to see these last 2 episodes focusing on the health of these incredible places. I'm so glad that Captains for Clean Water is taking the initiative for us all. It takes guts to hold politicians' feet to the flames for something as important but overlooked as clean water and healthy fisheries. Thank you MeatEater for bringing us this important info!
Merci a tous!!!! Bravo... BC’s finest. Quelle beauté des eaux douces. Oliver’s story !!!! Zip ties for weed gard Birds nest on film, make’s me feel human. Comme toujours, As always, Merci, Thanks, I can relate to this, Je m’associe a vous. Cheers, Bravo.
This series is awesome! You guys should do many more mini series like this. Maybe passing along a shotgun, maybe a climbing tree stand, or piss off everyone and pass along a crossbow 😂.
I know it is insanely unlikely, but there is a fishing series in Australia that just recently started, and it would be amazing if Steve fished Arnhem land with them. Logistically it's ridiculous, but they have the same spirit as Steve when it comes to land, people and hunting. They are called fishing the wild in case anyone is interested. Not spamming, just a fan of well made fishing shows with some heart and artistry. Thanks for another great episode team.
Every Saturday morning I would wake up and watch Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston catch bass on Lake O. I've never been but one of these days. Thanks for the memories to the old timers.
I grew up in north Florida and I truly miss the waterways down there. Fishing with my ol man on the boat in all the different waters of Florida is forever in my heart. It’s one of the reasons I joined the navy. Now I live in North Carolina and my son and I love watching das boat. He’s 4 years old and already has fishing in his blood. All he talks about is when will I take him fishing again. We love this series and we can’t wait for the next episode.
I am really enjoying this series, taking an old boat and making it work for every fishing scenario and being able too catch fish. Makes you think you don’t need a special boat
That's a fine little boat. I don't know why everyone is talking it down. I have a skeeter and a bay boat and would love to have that little boat. Awesome show, I hope they keep them coming.
I absolutely love this series so far. I can't stress enough how much I've enjoyed this. It's fun, it's interesting and it's educational. These episodes really open my eyes to things I wouldn't otherwise know about and show it in a way that encourages participation in finding solutions. Good on the team that makes this show happen.
Okeechobee native here, glad to see the lake represented well in this show!!! We catch alot of flack with the whole "toxic lake" stuff. The fisherie here is very good but I am an advocate for captains for clean water, it helps everybody!
Sometimes at work I think about the modifications I would do to the boat if I had it for a few days. This series has got me, oh yeah it’s got me real good.
I've been scheduling myself off work every Thursday now just not to missed a new episode. I can't ger enough of this damn. Thanks @Meateater for a better Thursday.
Two of my favorite fishing personalities on a show narrated by my all time favorite outdoorsman. It's like a dream come true watching these collaborations! If you ever need a forever home for das boat I'm Vice President of the Humboldt State University chapter of the American Fisheries Society and I've been hosting events to get fisheries biology students experience on the water fishing and we could really use a vessel! It would be truly life changing!
Seeing Sanibel lighthouse for the first time 2 years ago watching these videos and now rewatching this video after I moved from Ohio to Fort myers, Fl. Is simply surreal. I'm very fortunate to fish the caloosahatchee, Estero Bay, gulf sound and anywhere in between.
Olivers "how I started fishing story" is the same story of a lot of us in So Cal..And then our lives were never the same.Man, I would love to fish Okeechobee.
after i finished this video i almost moved on without leaving a like.... almost, you guys do incredible work for all outdoor enthusiasts and whenever i am questioned for my passion for the outdoors all i need to do is shop one of your videos. the genuine love you guys have for hunting and fishing bleeds through everything you make and and is intoxicating. thank you!
Great boat choice! I’ve run an Alumacraft V-16 since 1995. Fished rivers , lakes and oceans from Lesser Slave in Northern Alberta to the Sea of Cortez in Mexico. Extremely sea-worthy. Just keep one eye to the sky and pay attention to the weather. Great series, thanks.
Another fine show. I've been a fan of Meat eater since I first found it. It is so refreshing to see a show put on by a true sportsman and conservationist
Dear Meateater crew.....you've truly outdone yourselves with this series!! I cant get enough!! And by the way, from a Le Cordon Bleu graduate the cookbook kicks ass!! Mr. Escoffier would be proud!!
The moment I got the notification at work, I knew my evening was going to be great. It's going to be a sad day when this series ends. I want to watch this 52 weeks a year. Das Boat is changing the game of fishing entertainment and ecosystem awareness at the same time, and I love every minute of it!
Absolutely awesome content. Thanks so much for drawing the attention to this serious situation going on with our water quality and the fact that there is an organization that I didn't even know existed that is willing to fight this.
Clewiston is my home town. I grew up fishing in the same spots they were fishing in this episode. Thank you for bringing positive attention to Lake O and Florida in general.
Love the idea of captains for clean water. Looks like they have a mammoth task ahead but hope they can start making some serious positive changes for the future.
I love this series. It tickles this primal part of my brain that doesn’t get tickled otherwise. And I don’t even fish much anymore! (Not old, just busy)
I’m glad for this, it brings me back to the waterways of my childhood and how they were ravaged by pollutants. They too, are starting to recover, but it’s not a fast process.
Oliver saved this! She warmed up. First half she was kinda a bummer. Would love to see Oliver and Cal take another crack. On to next Thursday. Great job MeatEater
Keep Das Boat going. I dig the 100% fishing element from MeatEater. Plus it is way batter then conventional fishing shows where some ass hat keeps the same cloths on for 4 days straight so they can put together an episode and make it seem like one day.
