Yes I have already done the ECU tune thing on my bike well worth it . You will need tune ECU.exe ,a cable to connect and a pc I found running an older operating system was better windows 10 for example . The program is free it's all online and so are the maps catfish , swordfish etc .
@@captbarb6642 MaxxECU is aftermarket ECU, which I already have put into another bike. Installing it to Caponord is pretty simple since it is already EFI bike so all the necessary components are there, and also fuel and ignition maps are available on internet so it would be piece of cake to install, especially when compared to EFI conversion from carburetor. Of course it isn't very cheap but which hobby is? :D
@@sippilandia sounds great but I've not had a problem with the old efi system . The only problem I had was getting the pc you had tune ECU to run slow enough to talk.
That engine starting was not really healthy. If not yet done, the starting cable must be upgraded. Or upload the 050429 map. The Capo starts easier with that.
Thanks for that after doing the valve clearances this winter I took the opportunity to run another earth for the starter motor fixing bolts to the engine and then to the battery , I haven't run a power lead but checked the connection and cleaned . As far as the map I'm happy with the swordfish map which seems fine ,maybe after clearances being adjusted things might be different. Unfortunately the dash has not powered up and found one of the capicators is faulty.
Are just played it , that slight slow turn over on starter motor is that what your referring to. Could be the battery , did you know the bike won't start until the ECU sees the front cylinder at tdc so sometimes they turn over before firing , well that's how the RSV ECU work which is different but I wonder if they are the same .
@@captbarb6642 upgraging the startercable is beneficial too. Same I recommended to Mario, as well as the additional grounding to the starter motor. He made it also.
Hi, i just bought 2005 Capo. I am interested about remapping. To install caftish I need generic KKL with FTDI chip or better to order KKL interface from Lonelec? Basically i want smoother riding while RPM under 3k
Hi I purchased mine from lonetec and it's been fantastic. Your bike I think will have an O2 sensor I tried the catfish maps they are good . I installed a swordfish map on mine and it will dribble along in top gear at 2000rpm which is a big improvement from the OEM map good luck . Remember to upload /save your old map before downloading new just in case you need it . My mpg now two up and loaded at 75 mph is 54mpg . Good luck .
@@captbarb6642 i am ordering vag kkl cable, i hope its gonna work, lonetec is kind of too expensive for me. By this time are you running catfish or swordfish map ( or any other)?
