Yep, I did add the quick shifter recently and Neutral is a little bit harder to find., still better then most. In all honestly that gear box is so smooth that a quick shifter is really not a necessity on the road. Good vid

This is not a smooth gearbox... One of the most harsh I've tried, honestly. Tested with quickshifter only.

Would love a video on the down shift. Some people say it is a huge benefit when stood on the bike off road, being able to grab a lower gear real quick.

Absolutely, it’s a great benefit any you’re up on the pegs. I’m a bit behind on videos at the moment (I blame this nasty winter), but I’ll see what I can do this spring. Cheers!

Thanks for your observations and demonstration! My quicksifter was just installed (back-ordered). Only one ride of experience. I think it will be helpful in challenging riding situations - where I am monitoring many things.

Beautiful Tuareq with very nice mods. I really like the tubeless option of the Tuareq, instead of the tubed wheels of my T700😓

Buenas tardes desde España. Me gustaría instalar el quick shifter, pero no se donde esta situado el conector en la moto. Me propias decir ¿donen está situado el conector quick shifter en la moto? Te lo agradecería... Saludos desde España. Good afternoon from Spain. I would like to install the quick shifter, but I don't know where the connector is located on the bike. Tell me, where is the quick shifter connector located on the bike? I would appreciate... Greetings from Spain.

Do you have a part number for the brake and clutch lever? I looked it up, and they only had other models of the Aprillias no Tuareg...Funny how they installed an adjustable brake, and not the clutch. I'm female and have tiny hands. I can't reach the clutch. Thank you!

Hepco&Becker. I think both AF1 Racing (in Austin) and MotoMachines.com in Virginia stock them.

@@spencervidal3168 I think I misread your first question, if you’re referring to the skid plate, it’s a GP Mucci THOR skid plate. Made in Italy, excellent quality. Check my channel for a video on it.

What tires are running on your bike and are you happy with them?
@lazy-pilot
@lazy-pilot 8 месяцев назад
I run a Continental TKC80 in the front because it’s such a reliable and predictable tire on-road and off-road in all sorts of terrain. The rear tire is where I am experiment more, I’m always trying to find a balance between tread life and performance. I’m currently running a Motoz Tractionator GPS on the rear. It has solid tread strip in the middle so it has very solid mileage performance. And it also provides better than average off-road traction. When it loses traction under hard braking and begins to slide in loose dirt/rock it is stable. I never ran the stock tires, I pulled and sold them immediately so I don’t have that as a comparison; I heard terrible things and decided to immediately run TKC80 tires front and rear. The problem with a TKC80 in the rear is that you can only expect to get 1200 miles from that tire before the worn tread blocks are noticeable off-road. I expect to continually get 3,000-3,200 miles out of my current front/rear tire combo, replacing them at about the same time.

I think a quickshifter is the number 1 most important optional mod you can add to any bike, especially considering they are so damn cheap (usually £250 or less) compare that to some fancy brake fluid covers that cost £50 or new exhaust often £500+ I just don't see any justification for the reverse. I have an S1000XR and that bike probably has the single best quickshifter on the market, with absolutely no spots where you can't use it and it's incredibly quick and reliable. On that bike, not having a quickshifter VS having one? Not even a question. Even VS 200BHP superbikes, the first shift they have to make without a QS the XR just leaves them in the dust.
@lazy-pilot
@lazy-pilot Год назад
Apparently some people think they’re gimmicky but they’ve probably never used one. I’ve used them on a few different cycles, starting with the Holeshot quick-shifter back around 2000ish. They’ve always functioned well and they are useful in several situations.

@@lazy-pilot For me they just make the engine way more flexible than it really should be, you can now downshift in a corner with relative safety, upshift coming out of them, way less chance to lose traction on greasy/wet surfaces, it's smoother on the drivetrain, etc etc. And it sounds bloody amazing on my XR ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hwRJKYVK9HY.html

My dealer didn’t charge me 😎. But it’s 0.5 hours labor (including the installation of the new shift linkage) so just ask your local dealer about their hourly shop rates.

And exactly when, aside from a sales/marketing ploy , does the quick shifter have any legitimate use?….. it doesn’t
@lazy-pilot
@lazy-pilot Год назад
Hey now, if you’re trying to pose a rhetorical question you’re not suppose to answer it yourself 🙃. But since you did that, I’ll answer too. Although the usage of the quick shifter is low overall, I’m sure it’s less than 5% of the time, it does have its uses. A: it’s fun to use, that’s a personal experience and undebatable. B: It allows you to make (faster) clutch-less shifts, which started in racing and wouldn’t exist if someone didn’t need it. C: it prevents damage during clutch-less shifts. I understand there’s clutch-less shifts that occur (with no quick-shifter) in motocross, but that’s a motocross bike with short intervals between full overhauls and they have light flywheels. If you try to do a clutch-less shift on this motorcycle you will knock the teeth off gears and destroy your transmission. D: They made it an optional accessory, so if you think it’s a scam, don’t buy one. If you watched the video I explained how I (legitimately) use it.

@@lazy-pilot I am really not sure about clutch-less shifts without a quick shifter and the damage it´s supposed to do. When I shift up without qs, I very briefly close the throttle, which appears to have the same effect as sending a signal to the ECU. Maybe I am nit-picky ;) I did test ride a Tuareg the other day and tested shifting without qs and clutch - no problem. But that is just an opinion and probably it´s just fun, as most of the modern bikes are perfect so you want to play around with details ;)
