Nice Rev, thx 😁 . Shifting from 3rd to 4th shouldnt be a problem if you are over 6000rpm generally. Sounds in the video as you are at 4-5k.... Also this is described in the manual as well i think. If you want shifting without stutter under 6k use the clutch. I dont know any stock bike without a heavy double clutch that quickahifts up well under 6000. Interesting would be a comparison from the topheavy tuono to the bottom heavy Japanese Inline4 Bikes 😊👍
@ytwos1
@ytwos1 3 года назад
I didn’t know that. Had a Dorsoduro that (even with clutch) shifted rough sometimes and super clicky perfect other times. I am also a low RPM rider by nature. But in case of Dorsoduro it was a bit of a crap shoot, or I am just crap off course.

I was so torn between the Tuono V4 1100RR Factory vs BMW S1000r. Thank you for this review, it made me happy about the choice I made. Like you mentioned, the Aprilia has some really cool gadgets at first glance. Lean angle, break/throttle % looks cool at first sight. But it's not something you will watch while riding. What is the big thing that is missing here for the Aprilia though? The fuel indicator. That is something the BMW has. And I had it on my CBR600RR too. It's very useful information that actually has a valid reason to be on that infoscreen. Fuel indicator, superior cruicecontrol, heated grips (I live in Norway, it's even cold during the summer), the lights on the s1000r are miles better than the Aprilia's, and I saved more than 5000euro, made the BMW win it for me. Still think the Tuono looks better, it performs a bit better on track as well. But those 2 pro's does not outweigh the con's, especially when we were talking 5000+euro price difference.
@AlbesADV
@AlbesADV 5 лет назад
Yes, 5000 euros is a game changer, it is quite a bit of money

It's interesting to hear you mention a jerky quickshift. Mine is about as smooth as the BMW S1000R, best on the market IMO. The cruise control flashing is annoying enough that I only turn mine on when I'm using it. Well done brotha. P.s. if you're close to SoCal you should come to Palm Springs July 26-28 for SCMM. I actually sold my brand new Aprilia Tuono 2017 after riding it 9 months. I had it towed to a workshop in total 7 times over that period. Issues ranged from the dash not lighting up at all, to the starter motor failing, to even the ignition key getting stuck (and 2 tow mechanics and the workshop manager couldn't un-stick it). For me, it was absolutely unreliable and I could never second guess the next time it would fail on me. Happily riding a Triumph Street Triple RS and haven't looked back since. For those who think I'm making this stuff up, I have photos for every time it has broken down on me to prove it. I will never recommend an Aprilia to anyone ever.

Hello@@Tpviper Yes, yes i know. I'm familiar with the Tuono family, i did 17000 km on a Tuono V2 1000R second generation with a Rotax engine, also a very nice machine. In 2018 i did 8000 km on a 2014 Tuono V4R aprc without ABS (including a few laps on the Nordschleife-Nürburgring and 22 laps on the Assen track) and 1800 km on a Yamaha MT10 which was a bit of a disappointment after riding an Aprilia, so now a brand new Tuono V4 1100 RR.

The Tuono feels more like a race bike even if the power is comparable. I think the deciding factor for anybody considering the 2 bikes is riding position and looks because as much as people think they can, the average rider can’t really tell the difference when it comes to performance and suspension, they are both fantastic bikes and even professionals have a hard time picking a winner.
@Anthony_K

I own a 17’ Tuono and a 16’ SDR and I love both bikes, would really hate to pick one over the either. Really depends on the type of riding you do, I would pick the tuono for highway/twisties and ktm for urban environment, not to say it cant do those either, just that the tuono feels more at home in those environments. Ktm is a more comfortable bike and easier to live with day to day imo. Ktm doesnt mind putting around town all day, tuono gets pretty damn hot if you don’t keep her constantly moving. The highest temp I got the ktm to was 190f vs 230f for the tuono riding in the city. Ktm has more comfortable ergo’s and gets better gas mileage. Tuono is a lot more confidence inspiring and really makes you want to push it. Ktm is more laid back fun hooligan type riding. Two completely different bikes and philosophies used in making each one. Both bikes are equally capable, those are just the feelings I get when I ride each one. If you’re choosing between the two, you can’t make a wrong decision either way. I would deff suggest trying to get a test ride on the ape and see which one speaks to you! Lmk if you got any other questions!

Hi, mine tends to lean to the right as well, I think is a combination of the weight of the giant exhaust and the slight lean that every road has. @AlbesADV
@AlbesADV 5 лет назад
Try doing power wheelies on SPORT mode you will feel the power coming in sooner and more abruptly, race and track are recommended for the track because the power is smoother and peak power is at higher RPM which is where you would actually be most of the time at the race track. Yes you are right, you can see the lean angle, but you have to put the race mode on and start the lap timer, I was talking about if you are just riding around get on a twisty section of the road and you wonder how much you were leaning, unless you set up ahead of time, the bike doesn't record it.
