These are really great video reviews. I really want to purchase a iSUP and i love the look of the Echo over all the others. My only concern is it's thinner than others so might not be as quick or versatile. I have never used a SUP but i used to surf alot and had longboards so i dont think that balance will be an issue. I just want something that can be used in light surf or flat water by either myself (85KG) or my son as he gets older (currently 6), he might want to climb onboard with on occasion but im not looking for two person use.
Hi, Andrew, I would go for the Beast over the Echo as they are the same dimensions other than the Beast being 6"thick. The Beast will give you the best of both worlds and enable you to carry your son with you down the track as i am sure he will want to ride the board with you as both my boys did. The Beast will also outperform the Echo in the small to medium surf. Given your experience with longboards, you will appreciate the extra strength of the Beast over the Echo. The Echo works best for people in the 60 to 70 KG weight range. I hope this helps you make a decision. Cheers Graham
Very nice videos! Have you tried out the Echo in water? I'm thinking of ordering one, haven't decided on the model yet. Either the fusion or the Echo. The echo looks more flexible. Which would you recommend in that price range?
rickard atthem Hi Rickard the main difference between the 2 boards is the thickness and and width of the board. The Eco is 32 inches wide compared to 30 inches for the Fusion. The echo will be more stable than the Fusion if you are a first time paddler. That said the Fusion is 6 inches thicker over the Echo which is 4 inches thick thus the Fusion can take a lot more weight and won't bend in the middle of the board. The Echo is built for lighter weight people. If you feel you will take to the SUP well then the Fusion will grow with you and be a faster board to paddle work better in calm surf and can take the weight of 2 people. If you think you want more stability then I would go for the Beast as that board is the same dimensions as the Eco only 6 inches thicker. I hope this helps you. Cheers Graham
Hi, Chupakus the Echo will float you fine. I have just finished a small surf review soon to be posted to our youtube chanel. I was the first time I have tested the Echo 4 inch thick ISUP in the small surf and it performed surprisingly well. I also weight 90 KG so it was a good test. If you want to take 2 people for a paddle on the one board then I would go for the Beast given its 6 inches thick and can handle the extra weight very well. I hope this helps you. Cheers Graham
The Beast if you are going in the choppy or ruff conditions or small surf. the Echo is ok on the falt water not as good in choppy water because of the extra flex in that board being only 4 inches thick. Cheers Graham
