Very nice and quick, good to hear all of their names in a short window of time. Kind of like running through a flash card after I've learned already. Thanks for the video!
Thanks so much, glad you like how we approached the subject, tried to come up with as many favorite plants as possible for you guys to have a good idea on the basics.
I love how ‘category’ is pronounced as ‘cathegory’. On a serious note, Green Aqua helped me to finally decide on starting my own lowtech tank. As a beginner, I really find your videos beginner-friendly, informative, and entertaining. Love you guys!
Loved the video! Please do another one with more detailed informations or even tips on how to combine certain plants to acheave a certain look. Wood love to watch this, keep it comming!
Thanks Andrew, glad you think that. We tried our best, but I think we could only cover a small part of this topic, but yeah, it's good for a start... Hopefully.
I've been too. And really surprised how chilled Balazs was in that moment. Would scare the ***t out of me (Viktor). These lights are awesome, but the legs are really bad. Too easy to drop it from the tank. 😃
Pfoo you scared me when you dropped the light into the tank. Great video! Now I have to check your website to study all +-400 of them! Greetings from The Netherlands.
I got scared too, but you know - it happened to me before - so I kept my calm. Kinda... 😇 Thanks for watching Jerry, actually there are many identical plants that come from many different suppliers and packaging forms, so the real number would be around 150-200? Taking in consideration that there are big groups of plants that I mentioned in the video, the actual number of latin names one has to remember is probably below 100. That's not so dangerous.
Good Lights cost quite a bit. Water proof lights: Priceless. It really pays off and decent LED lights are a LOT safer than any other light source. Using regular light bulbs can be lethal.
Great video. I'm doing a lot of research as I'm determined to set up a planted tank and I can't say I've come across something this informative in a while. Really a great video on the different types of plants. I'm really looking forward to watch part 2 next!
Cheers, welcome to the channel, we've got quite a few tutorials (playlist) here where you can learn the basics, but you'll learn a lot and can get inspired from the numerous builds and maintenances here too...
Thé dropped light, ooh . But in your relaxed style, not a problem 😉 great video on sooo many plants, very informative tutorial. Great quality as always. Thank you ,and have a great weekend all the Green Aqua team.
Loved the video, usefull information about the plants, and seeing them in the aquarium with each other and knowing their names makes it easier to plan an aquascape and choose the best plants to do it. Thanks
Your videos are always found at the perfect time right when i need them. Thank you so so much for this video. I love the free spirit and the fact that the videos are not made to be perfect - well in a sense of natural, I suppose they are perfect. :)
Balazes love your Green Aqua videos......Hopefully one of these days I can visit Budapest ,and stop by Green Aqua, and say hi.If your ever visiting Saint Augustine Fl,look me up.You would like this town, its the Oldest Spanish settlement in the Us.It dates back to 1500s.
man , that was a loooooooot of plants...…. amazing and nice to discover how some of them are called...ah um...can you repeat them all again..hehehehe….replay
That would be a natural phenomenon - like crypts adjusting to underwater life, or it could be a nutrient deficiency or even temperature problem. But I've seen valisneria melt because of Excel (carbon supplement) too. There you have it.
Such beautiful plants. All the stores around my area have plants that are covered with algae and other pests. Made a mistake by adding a plant without quarantining it beforehand now I have freshwater limpet snails.
Thank you. it was very intresting and very helpful! Loved every moment ,Special the when the lamp falls in the aquarium xd Nagyon jól sikerült videó, és nagyon hasznos a növény választásban! Köszi.
I just about got my hardscape ready for an Iwagumi and my first real setup with decent gear. Although Iwagumi I'm still going to plant heavy and this video has put my head into a spin, so much to choose from but a fantastic video explaining many different plants, thanks a lot! I do have experience with some it's just now the big decision on which ones I want to put in, plants that I have experience with and plants I don't.
This is amazing! It was great help as I am really getting into aquascaping and I work at my local fish store and I help people with fish and plants and now I will be even more helpful! thank alot I love your videos keep them coming!
I love bucepharandra. My bucepharandra sp. green velvet has bloomed. It's very elegantly pure white. I want to more watch bucepharandra reviewing video.
Balazs this video is massively helpful mate, especially to people like me that are newer, us newbies can do all the research we like but after getting all our new plants home might end up putting bucephalandra roots in the substrate! I do like to use your website, I might even order from you in the future instead of from local stores!
Green Aqua i always watch green aqua video specially when its about tutorial about planting and making some awesome hardscape. I wish i could have one of those scapes😍
nice! Aquascaping uses quite different plants. I'll definetely try Bolbitis because I love ferns. Mostly because my fish don't eat ferns... I randomly tried Mayaca fluviatilis - this plant is silver! So cool.
Great videos. Watching this has me wanting to do a scape. I've also begun attempting to scape plants in a reef tank. Marine aquascaping is up and coming. Would love to see you guys try it! Though much of it is done with macroalgaes and see grasses.
I never memorize plant names lol, i just look it up whenever i need new plants that might suit my tank perfectly. saving this vid to my playlist for future references :D Great content guys!
Thanks for the great explanation! for showing your knowledge and not hiding it from those who are willing to learn! Congrats on the videos! Greetings here from Brazil (it was well in Latin!) Many of these plants found in our streams and in various regions of Brazil! Come visit us!
Hey brother, thanks for your comment, yes, we know that many plants are coming from your beautiful country, I will definitely visit you and have some hikes around. It's on my bucket list for sure. Glad you like our channel.
Thanks for your words, we have an older video comparison on the channel and we may will do another one later too. But next week we will be back with some aquascaping again. Also we take a little break for the summer. But Season 2 is coming! 😀
We're trying to have a cinematic on Mondays, but not succeed always. Two normal videos are impossible to make with this production quality. Even this one video is too much at times for me, Balazs. I've got well over 40hrs per week in this, and there's also a company to run... ;)
This was all awesome. Loved it! Thank you and not boring at all👍. Some of the foreground plants looked light green/yellowish....was that just the camera/video?? I love the rich darker green plant tones much more.
These plants come from terrestrial conditions from the nurseries, their color is much different from their final look, they will definitely get greener then this.
With each yours movie I'm watching, I'm getting more and more convince that I will have to click "like" on each one of them. Great materials! I was just looking for some new plant for my tank I could not find one place with 'live' comparison side-by-side. Would it be possible to make short movies presenting plant families? For example all rotalas or ludwigias?
Thanks for the kind comment and for the suggestion, noted. Glad you appreciate our effort that goes into producing these videos, we work a lot to have each video shot and edited to perfection, hope that shows.
In general we're not using heaters in our aquariums. With water temp is around 22-24C. But if needed then build in filter ones or external one like Hydor is preferred.
Nice video again, love my plants, can never have enough. But what I experienced is that some species don't do well in my tank. I know some plants need another setup, but I do try them out. There is One in particular I have tried several times but I don't succeed and I have never seen you handling it: ludwigia species white. I know it's a cultivar but is there a reason why you don't use it? What I m also curious about is that some plants can't go with another species, maybe you can explain that some time( there are plants who kill the others just by standing next to it) It's a difficult puzzle to grow everything well and remain your balance, it's like a full time hobby. Love it though. I heard you spoiled Peter with a new setup/ scape? Looking forward to that one! Have a great week.
Yeah, Peter's video is coming out on next week. It turned out quite nice. Well, about the plants overgrowing each other - that's a very natural process. The stronger prevails. It happens to all plants really, I don't think there's to be done anything about that. I did not encounter the Ludwigia white before, but the others might have... We only have plants that could successfully be nursed by our partners - and that we thought it's worth looking at. Thanks for pointing this plant out, we'll try it in the future. Cheers.
Once again, A BIG THANK YOU GreenAqua! A such great and instructive video! By watching it, I've cleared out all of my doubts about plant selection for my future "low-almost middle tech" tank. I wish we had a GreenAqual Gallery in Brazil .
thank you for all of the information plants and how you say them so when i'm shopping for more at my LFS ill be able to blame my horrible pronunciation on my Hungarian accent lol keep up the good work and keep inspiring me and others to keep scaping nature aquariums peace and love fish brother from Las Vegas Nevada USA
