+tomtalk24 No idea what people expected here. The controller (that also includes the red housing) is by far the most expensive part of the pump. The upgrade kit from aquastream to aquastream XT Ultra already cost almost 56 Euro. In direct comparison the ULTIMATE upgrade kit is even a much better deal.

95% of the time it's worth the premium. Bar your g1/4 temp sensor fitting. The thing is taking a step back and doing the math of the total unit it all adds up! Yet that screen is enough to tempt me. So smooth!

+Ermenegildo Sforza Picozza Your are completely ignoring the fact that the aquastream integrates a "mini aquaero" while the Laing is just a pump. People buy the aquastream because of its additional features. If you try to achieve the same feature set with a Laing and other components you will end up with a MUCH higher price.

Software alone that comes for it kind of blows the "dumb" Laing pumps away. Everything from controlling the pump Hz/Speed, to seeing the temperature and what not else. The watt consumption, the current, flow rate (if you get a flow meter), and what not else. This pump is quite big though, but hasn't let me down for the two years I've had one (XT Ultra). Edit, 2024 - Just saw my own comment, the pump is still running strong, and this comment was 7 years ago, making it 9 years + whoever had it prior to me.
