im new to the scene of water cooling, this gimmick made it seem a beginner like myself can get into water cooling a bit safer, what other water cooling accessories that Aqua Computer made would you recommend thats innovative to this company alone ?
Warum würdest du es nicht verwenden ? auch kein Test dazu dann, finde sowas schon interessant hatte jetzt urplötzlich an zwei verschiedenen pet tubes, auch verschieden alten zwei risse aktuell und finde sowas dann schon interessant nicht ums damit ewig laufen zu lassen aber für ne frühe Warnung und auch um die Hardware zu schützen/retten.
@@whiteXIchigo in ~15 Jahren hatte ich nie nachträglich ein undichtes system. Also wenn's am Anfang dicht war dann auch immer über alle Jahre die ich es verwendet habe
@@der8auer hatte jetzt wie gesagt zwei Tubes eine ältere und eine Recht frisch verbaute einen Riss, eine zum Glück nur über alte hdd aber das neue war jetzt einfach über der Graphikkarte. Zum Glück lag lag noch ein safty Tuch da um die erste Zeit zu gucken ob alles wirklich dicht war das aber b riss Inder Tube auftaucht ist auch für mich neu gewesen.

@@Nordern Honestly, while I personally have no use for this it's innovative and may incline new people to get into water cooling who may not have otherwise because of fears of leaks.
If I had just watched this video, I would have doubted it to be so efficient. But I came here after I saw the LTT video on it. Something else nice that I think I didn't see on this video: from what I saw around, it doesn't just protect you from the leak, it also warns you that it has started protecting you from a leak and the severity of it.
Yes, it is sort of expensive. But you could compare it to life insurance or brushing your teeth: If sh*t ever hits the fan and burns your expensive GPU because you did not use this, you will cry.
There is never overkill when it comes to monitoring your watercooling system. I have a High Flow NEXT and Quadro and plan on getting an Aquaero and probably this.
Wieder mal ein sehr geniales Produkt, ich baue jetzt bereits seit mehr als 20 Jahren Systeme mit Wasserkühlung und verwende dabei fast nur Produkte von Aqua Computer. Die letzte Anschaffung war eine OCTO Lüftersteuerung, auch das Teil ist für seine Größe einfach gut gelungen. Mir ist zwar nur wenig mit Wasser passiert, aber ich hatte schon undichte Verbindungen, wo es z.B. auch direkt ins Netzteil getropft hatte, dank FI der ausgelöst hat nichts weiter passiert. Wenn ich überlege was andere für Geld nur für RGB ausgeben, ist das Teil hier sicher eine interessantere Investition.
This is amazing and all. It really makes someone like me who avoided open loops altogether because of these kinds of issues to want to delve into open loops. But... I have a concern. What happens when I have the whole system shut down including the pumps and there were leaks that the Leakshield have helped to solve in my system. Will there be no pressure then and thus the solved leaks will start leaking again once the Leakshield is turned off? If yes, then I guess there is still some concern of the leaks that were handled by the Leakshield reoccurring again the moment the system is powered down (including the leakshield). Any help on this? Many thanks!
If we talk about a regular shutdown of the system, LEAKSHIELD will be still powered via USB because this is usually always on (check the BIOS settings if this is not the case). For the rare case that the mainboard always cuts the power completely, you could connect LEAKSHIELD with an external cable to a mobile phone charger for example. If the power is completely cut, the negative pressure will vanish of course. How fast/slow this happens depends on the size of the leak. Since the pump of the loop will also not work anymore, it is unlikely that water will escape if you have only a small leak.
What about a self levelling system? For long run critical mission systems (well gaming is not one... but...), where you have the main reservoir and a backup canister connected to the loop via solenoid valves controlled through this and a main reservoir level sensor... well just wondering
i like this product, but there are some big caveats they gloss over. it can not compensate for such large leaks for very long. Either so much air gets pulled in that the water levels rises in the res upto membrane then it fails. If your flow rate is high enough air might not get trapped in the loop but get pumped out in the res, but then you have to ask 1) what is the max flow rate the pump can keep up with? and 2) at what duty cycle does the tiny micro pump burn out and fail? I can almost guarantee if that pump is going full tilt non stop it will overheat and fail fast. Where this pump shines is detecting very tiny leaks and giving you a little time to fix them, and if you wire it up, triggering a shutdown when a leak is detected.

LEAKSHIELD gibt es auch als Standalone Variante und kann mit jedem (vorhandenen) Ausgleichsbehälter kombiniert werden, der oben am Deckel einen Anschluss frei hat.

@@lordofstrandhill Die Artikel können bereits bestellt werden. Ein konkretes Lieferdatum habe ich nicht parat, aber ein wenig Geduld sollte man mitbringen. Die Druckausgleichsmembran funktioniert nicht und ist überflüssig da LEAKSHIELD einen kontrollierten Unterdruck erzeugt.

Das Produkt werde ich wohl nicht verwenden, aber die Musik gefällt mir. :) Ich werde es nicht verwenden, weil ich in bald 18 Jahren Wasserkühlung zwei Leckagen hatte und beide Male passierten sie beim Zusammenbau, weil ich mich dumm angestellt hatte. Das nach Jahren plötzlich eine undichte Stelle auftrat ist mir noch nicht passiert. Das älteste Teil an meiner Wasserkühlung ist mein geliebter 2007er Tank-O-Matic von Innovatek (kennt die Firma noch jemand?). Bei dem habe ich vor ein paar Jahren vorsichtshalber die Dichtungen gewechselt. Ich lasse die Wasserkühlung nach größeren Umbauten immer erst ein paar Stunden mit einem externen Netzteil laufen und schalte den PC dabei nicht ein. Falls danach immer noch alles dicht ist und sich unter dem PC keine Lache gebildet hat wird alles in Ordnung sein.

@@friku404 If we are talking about an ULTITUBE reservoir with LEAKSHIELD, then this does not work because the membrane would be covered with water which prevents the vacuum pump from creating a vacuum. For reservoirs of other brands you have to use the standalone variant of LEAKSHIELD. It must be connected to the empty area (air) of the reservoir and this area should have a volume of at least 100 ml.

Ich weiß zwar noch nicht, wie ich das in mein Gehäuse Konzept integrieren soll, aber verbauen werde ich das in jedem fall. Grade weil ich schon 2 Festplatten geduscht habe, die laufen noch, dafür hab ich meine GTX 980 dadurch verloren. Wegen der Backplate ist der schaden nie aufgefallen bis es zu spät war.
So, 1 Jahr später. Der PC läuft seit eben. Die Funktion zum Befüllen ist echt super. Anders hätte ich mein System auch gar nicht voll bekommen. Oberhalb vom Deckel sind grade mal 3cm Platz.
what you need to take into account is that there's also a comprehensive software suit that comes with this, with some really usefull features and functionalities. It's not just a fancy pump :)

Yes, but since a loop is never 100% tight, the negative pressure will slowly vanish. This can take several days while with a serious leak just minutes or maybe only seconds. Please note that LEAKSHIELD is still powered via USB when your system is shut down.

No, this would require to produce a second variant which comes with additional development and production costs (again) - this makes no sense. If you do not like the LEDs, then you can disable them in the software of course.

A direct mount on the top is only possible with our reservoirs. For other brands you have to use the standalone variant of LEAKSHIELD and connect a tube between the top of the reservoir and LEAKSHIELD.
Hi! How can i connect a leakshield to an aquaero 6? I'm not running windows. It would be so nice if it was remote controllable directly from the aquaero, so you can manage it remotely without the computer being on.
It is not possible because the LEAKSHIELD has no aquabus interface nor would it be possible for the aquaero to manage such specific features that LEAKSHIELD has.
@@AquaComputerGermany I see. I will have to make a custom arm for pushing the side button from the front of the case. And maybe take out the OLED from the housing to put it upfront. If you make a remote control specifically for controlling the leakshield features like filling the system, i will be the first to buy it, because i really have to dismantle the whole PC to access it as it is now.

@some dude Yeah I understand that but my point is if you didn't really screw something up the leak will stop along with the pump. And if the hardware is not juiced up the water is not goin to damage it. That's just something that I'd feel more comfortable with.

Wenn man jetzt bestellt würde ich grob von Ende August ausgehen. Direkt ab Lager verfügbar wird der Artikel wahrscheinlich auch die nächsten Monate nicht werden da natürlich immer zuerst die bereits getätigten Bestellungen bedient werden. Bei der gegenwärtigen Nachfrage wird da langfristig nichts fürs Lager über bleiben.

The vacuum pump only needs to run a few seconds each week (under normal conditions) and only creates a low humming noise. You can also set time frames when it should work, so that it will not disturb you in the night if your PC is in the same room. Please note that Alphacool is a completely different company and has nothing to do with us!
AquaComputer has some very lovely, and technically very clever, reservoirs. They also make the best controllers on the market, with the best software. AlphaCool is a separate company, they have nothing to do with AC 😉
@@literate-asideI am mistaken about aquacooling. sorry, i thought because of their name , a lot of semi shared component designs and other factors they were just a higher end spin off of aquacooling. i just looked up this aquacomputer pump/res. really i think you're overdoing it a bit. like a lot. 'technically very clever' what? what does their's do over say EK's? what's a extremely low bar. they look horrible, are acrylic and are overpriced. also terrible mounting hardware. everyone knows aquacomputer for their controllers, what are overpriced and use terrible connector standards. worst of all they ignore most of the world. they are impossible to get.
Also jetzt mal ganz ehrlich, klar wirkt es cool wenn Ihr in die Pipes bohrt. Aber wann bricht spontan ein Wasserblock oder man verirrt sich unbemerkt mit einem Bohrer in eine Pipe während das System läuft. Oder ein G1/4" Dichtring verschwindet magisch? Bitte zeigt uns statistisch warum wir das Produkt brauchen, nicht dass es in unrealistischen Szenarien funktioniert.
@Don Faq Wenn deine Pumpe ausfällt throttled dein PC oder die Hardware brennt. Wenn du Hardtubes aus einem Thermoplastik verwendest, weil du denkst du kannst kein Acryl schneiden kann ich dir auch nicht helfen. Ich hatte noch nie einen Pumpenausfall oder eine Leckage. Weißt du ob das Ding zumindest leise ist?
What does this do like suck out air out of loop like vacuum and exhale it to maintain presure ?, anyway looks like im getting one of this already have pump reservoir combo from this brand so should fit no problem
It works with a controlled low pressure. If you check the description you will find further links for information and reviews. You can use LEAKSHIELD with every reservoir that has an unused connector at top. There is no need to bundle it with one of our reservoirs.

Echt sehr cool, werde ich mir vielleicht zulegen wenn ich endlich mal meine GPU mit in die Loop nehme. Schade nur das es so teuer ist und die Software nicht multiplatform, aber ich nehme mal an die Sofjtware ist wie immer optional?
Die Software ist immer dabei. Der Update-Service ist für 18 Monate inkludiert und kann danach oder auch jederzeit später optional(!) verlängert werden. Nutzt man dies nicht bleibt man einfach auf der zuletzt verfügbaren Version stehen und kann diese ohne Einschränkungen weiter nutzen und natürlich auch wieder neu installieren.

@@13n1304 Das Gerät muss mindestens ein mal an einem Windows-PC konfiguriert werden. Danach ist auch auch Nutzung ohne Software möglich, was allerdings Nachteile mit sich bringt. So muss man z. B. grundsätzlich eine Worst-Case Konfiguration nutzen da LEAKSHIELD keine Daten zur Pumpe erhält um den Unterdruck dynamisch anpassen zu können.
