I just replaced all 3 filters, going through the 2nd cycle of 4, as suggested, the #4 filter light is on…not sure if water is filtering through that filter. Please advise.
Should you replace the filters while the unit is on or off? Plugged or unplugged? Also, I've had the unit for 8 months and none of my filter lights have gone off. I thought the yellow one would be done after 6 months or 600 gallons, whichever comes first?
You don't need to turn it off to replace the filters. Also, one thing that can throw off the timing of the filter change alerts is turning it on and off between filtering. If you turn it on only when filtering, most of the time the alert timer is not calculating elapsed time. The time is essentially stopped until you turn it on again. For the best functioning of the unit, we recommend always keeping the unit plugged in and switched on. When there is no water to filter, the unit stays in a standby mode, which uses very little electricity, so there is no need to manually turn it off. This will also allow the filter-change alerts to keep track of the time, since the last filter change, more accurately. If you turn it off, the alerts will not stay in sync with "calendar" time.
@@AquaTruWater Ah makes sense, kinda silly the unit can store that info without power. Hopefully, these units are actually tracking 600 gallons and not just alerting every 6 months or 1 year and actually able to detect a filter that is no longer effective.
According to the app, the filters on my until are being used up at different rates. If I just change two filters, then hit the filter reset , what happens re: the filter that wasn't replaced? Does it lose track of the filter's usage?
Only change the filters when the filter change lights come on and remain illuminated on the front panel. Then, when you change the filter indicated and reset the alert, it will only reset the light that is illuminated.

If you have been turning it off, you can go by your own schedule and just put it on your calendar… Pre-filter 6 months VOC filter 12 months RO filter 24 months
I just replaced filter 1, and it stops shortly after coming on..I checked for the rec arrow position.i have pressed reset but its so small not sure if its working?????
We’re sorry your unit is not working properly. Try lifting the back tank up and reseating it a few times, if an air bubble is in the system, this will clear it out. Also if you have recently washed the front tank, there may be water in the sensor at the top front of the tank. You may be able to tun it upside down and shake the water from there. If this doesn’t help… Please call Customer Service and they will be happy to resolve this for you. Please choose the Technical Support & Troubleshooting option. You are welcome to try and recycle the filters, but in our experience, the recycling places will not take them. The reason is that all of the toxic debris left over from the water is inside of the filters and if they recycle it and crush it etc., the toxins will then be in the plastic. We have been looking into setting up a recycling program in the future. In the meantime, we recommend that you contact your local city water management department to get their recommendations about recycling used water filters.
Many questions - on your picture, the unit is turned on while you press and hold the reset button. However, the lights are off... When my unit is on, the lights are on. If the unit is on, it's filtering water, so I had to fill the tank first, then turn it on, then press the reset button. Is that right?? Please help!
When it's time to change a filter, the front display will notify you by illuminating a light that shows the filter number that needs changing. The light will remain illuminated until the filter has been changed and the alert light has been reset. During filtering, the lights will cycle, turning off and on, but only then a light turns on and remains on, never turning off, is it an actual filter change alert. At 1:18 in the video, you can see that the filter change light is on and then the rest button turn it off.
Just installed 1&3 after a year, now the unit won’t turn on. Did these steps, pressed the rest and it’s just dead. Tried different outlets too, never had issues until I replaced the filters.
Hi Drew, There is a little round magnet on the inside edge of the filter cover panel. Make sure the panel is in place and closed completely and the magnet is present. The magnet must be in place for the unit to be able to filter water. If there is absolutely no power...no lights on the front panel... I just ordered my first set of replacement filters. Upon unboxing I see I have 2 boxed filters marked 1-2, and one boxed filter 4. Why not filter 3, and how/when does that need to be replaced? This is somewhat confusing.
That is the 1-year combo pack. The number 3 filter is the Reverse Osmosis filter, which lasts for 2 years, so you don't need to change it in one year. There is also a 2-year combo pack that includes the #3 filter.
There are 3 filters. The pre-filter, #1-2, lasts approximately 6 months and costs $20. The RO filter, #3, lasts approximately 2 years and costs $50. The VOC filter, #4 lasts approximately 1 year and costs $30. When it's time to change a filter, the front display will notify you by illuminating a light that shows the filter number that needs changing. The light will remain illuminated until the filter has been changed and reset.
No, it will not reset. But the timer will not progress and will just "freeze"...no longer keeping track of elapsed time. It will resume keeping track of time when the power is back on. The alerts use a combination of elapsed time and gallons used. This is why we recommend always leaving AquaTru turned on, otherwise the alerts will get out of sync with "calendar" time.

Was this question ever answered? Did you figure out why the #4 light stays on after replacing filters with new filters? I just replaced a filters, going through the 2nd cycle of 4 as suggested, the #4 filter light is on…not sure if water is filtering through that filter.
The pre-filter ($20) and VOC filter ($30) will last for approximately 600 gallons of water. The main RO filter ($50) will last for approximately 1200 gallons of water.
The presence of micro air bubbles, making the water look cloudy, is normal. Nothing to be concerned about. It is just some air released by the RO membrane. Sometimes a very small amount of air is released and the bubbles are not even noticeable. Sometimes there is a bit more air released and the bubbles are more noticeable. When the tank runs out of water, the pump may suck in a small amount of air before it turns off. In some cases, this air will show up in the water tanks as air bubbles next time you refill the tank and filter more water.
