What a fantastic video. No extraneous talk. No attempt at funniness. No over explaining and no repeating yourself. Kudos to you. On top of all these, you actually did not assume the viewers knew the lingo nor did you treat the novices like children. Thank you thank you. I have many fire arms and recently added an AR-15 to my arsenal. I thought I knew enough but as it turns out I did not. RU-vid needs more content providers like you.

AR rifles are light, accurate, easy to field strip and clean, fire relatively inexpensive ammo, can accept high-capacity magazines, and you can get one starting around $500. These are all good reasons for owning one.

My oldest is a Marine and has built up a few AR's. They are fun to shoot and we go to the range regularly as well as shoot while camping out in the boonies. Beginner here. Thanks so much for the video. Very informative. Last week, my coworker to me to the gun club and we shot his Colt AR-15 heavy barrell. Shooting targets at 25 yards wit standard sites. I was surprised at how accurate it was with using standards sites. I was hooked after that. My only experience before that was firing my Daisy Bee Bee rifle. Today, I just bought a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport II today at my local gun club. My first firearm! After purchasing it, I took it in the firing range with one of the shooting club employees and he showed me some basics. I was surprised at how accurate it was on the first go around. I didn't have to make any adjustments to the sites. I am loving this platform.

I honestly don't know why I just watched this video, since I'm already very familiar with the parts and operation of the AR-15, but this was a great introduction for beginners and you explained everything well. Well done! I would just suggest to anyone new to the AR-15, or really any firearm, go even deeper than this, and learn every part. It's not really necessary, but if you're going to own one of these, it's worth understanding each piece of it, know what a healthy working firearm looks like, and how all the pieces work together to make a bullet come out when you pull the trigger. Do a full build from the bare receiver up, or completely disassemble and reassemble your firearms to learn as much as possible about them, and do so periodically to clean and inspect them. Most firearms today are quite reliable, but you're still dealing with some high pressures and fast moving parts, and it's good to detect and identify any potential problems before they become dangerous.

I tell him it's my constitutional right and it's something I enjoy shooting and it makes me happy. +Deckard Cain I have one lol. I'm looking to build a "budget" AR (or really just own one, I'm not partial to building, just from what I've read you build a better firearm for a cheaper price so, I guess I'm building). Anyways, I've pretty much settled on the complete lower set-up I want, and it comes out to around $150. Then I found an upper "kit" made by Radical that's like $230. It says it includes everything but the bolt carrier group and charging handle. So, my question is, what all do I need to complete the upper? Obviously a charging handle, I get that, it's pretty simple. But, what all do I need to complete an entire carrier group, and what's the best route to keep it on a budget? And I mean like a very tight budget, as cheap as possible lol. I'm just using it to plink with, and later I'll upgrade to better parts. For now I'm just looking to get a functional AR. So, back to my question, what do I need? Thanks

nsz85 would you ever consider a Smith & Wesson M+P15 22 Sport M-LOK 22LR 16.5" Barrel being a good beginners choice? It's inexpensive, but my friend said that it's only a 22LR. Does that mean it's not a true AR?
@lorangr21
@lorangr21 7 лет назад
It's still an AR he means that it is just chambered in a .22 cal, if it is your first gun ever I would advise the .22 and later on once you're more familiar with it and have more experience then make the switch to a .223/5.56 or maybe even a .308. P.s i'm actually buying my first AR next week, and considering the same model you're talking about but in a .223.
@Mr_Sinful_
@Mr_Sinful_ 7 лет назад
SwiftScout06 Thanks for letting me know. My buddies that own AR15s have told me to skip the .22 cal and move on to .223 cal, because I can easily buy a bolt to fire .22 cal instead of buying a .22 cal AR, and then buying another more expensive AR. It isn't a bad idea, and only paying an extra $200 to $300 for an adequate mid level AR. Although building one from scratch would be a lot better 👌🏻
@lorangr21
@lorangr21 7 лет назад
Yeah man no prob, you definitely seem to b on the right track. You're also right about buying an upper receiver to shoot 22, but I doubt you'll want to go back. Btw I'm practically a beginner myself and couldn't wait any longer so I went today and bought my rifle. I'm tickled to death about it too, I can't wait to take out on the farm and take some yotes. ;)
@Mr_Sinful_
@Mr_Sinful_ 7 лет назад
SwiftScout06 yeah the thing I'm aiming for is not having to buy expensive ammo for practice. I understand the differences between certain ammo, but paying 50 to 75 cents a round just to practice seems a bit much. Unless I want to see the affects of a certain round like a NATO green tip (which might not be legal in California) Now gun shows are the perfect time to buy ammo. My buddy paid 10 cents a round very cheap. No worries I'm a beginner myself.

Thank you for this video. I'm a noob when it comes to guns, but I've had an AR-15 gifted to me a long while back, I just never touch it. However, I decided I'm going to finally learn about it, understand the basics and cleaning, etc. This video was super helpful in understanding some of the basic parts. I have shot an AR15 before (and several other guns), but it's nice to see the basics explains so well.

There’s a reason why the AR-15 is the most popular sporting rifle in the America. It’s a solid, accurate rifle that’s relatively easy to maintain. It doesn’t hurt that they’re a lot of fun to shoot too !

Until you do it a few times it becomes very easy. Subscribed and will follow your channel on anything AR related. One question: the diagram on your table of the AR, probably a dime a dozen to get (maybe not and therefore asking) where do I get that? Thank you!

Interesting. I have not used my AR 15 in a number of years. Mine looks more like the M 16 I used in Vietnam. Works the same but with the carrying handle. Also, as the M 16 jammed so much, I got that I could strip it I the dark. May get my AR out and shoot it before winter. 1st Cav Air Assault

Does anyone else think this tutorial is kind of all over the place? It should start out explaining how the rifle fires then how the direct gas impingement system resets the rifle, preparing it to fire the next round, etc... Instead it starts out describing the stock, then randomly jumps from feature to feature with no rhyme or reason.
