Not the best flight I've had by far, but at least I verified that my video system was not the cause of the issues last time I was out at the previous flight location! It was an awesome view... sadly from a wet lens, but the video signal was perfect all the way, even through the wet clouds, which means my video system is working just fine, which is reassuring! Would be interesting to see if the HM30 HD system would do better or worse in that other location...

1.2Ghz is all I use on long range flights. It's just way more consistent at range. Video below is 20km out at a hight of just 150 meters. It's just a 500mw VTx btw. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5sDg0wuua6k.html

Agreed, I keep telling him 5,800mhz is short range video....He thinks it's interference on 5.8g at 4,000 feet. Utterly rediculous IMO...🤔😳😳

I got 40km range on 5.8GHz 600mW VTX at 800m height, receiver has a 20dBi plate antenna.

@@EnglishTurbines I mean you cannot call it short range when he shows what he has accomplished with it... more ridiculous than anything. When he has used 5.8 to accomplish all the range he needed prior why upgrade whats already working. He is well aware of the range 1.3 can do over 5.8, but to swicth all planes over inroduces more problems to solve. If it works, dont fix it. If you have nothing nice to say, dont say it :)

@@bluecookiemonster3 Depends what you call acceptable...His video is usually full of snow when at range. Then there's the excessive altitude that comes with 5.8g video...Flying over mountains is not what most people do either....🤔😳

Riiiiiight... interesting discussion you got going there! Alright... as Storage has said, I am well aware of the capabilities of a properly setup 1.2Ghz system with good antennas, however... it has always been my goal to use off the shelf stuff to get good results that does not involve DIY-ing anything, which is not the case with 1.2Ghz yet, sadly! Matek had a fair shot at it, but for some reason discontinued the 1.2Ghz system, which is a pity, so we are left with the always out-of-stock RMRC one, which is pretty good, but again... requires good 1.2Ghz antennas, which currently are quite expensive, or the Partom system, which does require some additional steps to eliminate interference in the power supply, etc., so in essence barrier to entry with a 1.2Ghz system is higher than 5.8Ghz, and the price difference is a consideration as well! I've always tried to test and use gear easily accessible and relatively cheap, so that a lot more people can find it easier to get in this game! That being said... recently I've put some of my ancient 1.2Ghz gear to use and have started playing with it... baby steps though, because moving the whole fleet over to it overnight, before it having proven itself first would pose a lot of issues, expenses and makes no sense! :)

@@janezjanez7493 To be honest, I haven't flown that many at all! That being said, I did love the HobbyKing Tek Sumo back in the day, it was rock solid! This one isn't bad either, just don't push it to go fast and expect it to turn in a hurry!

Hey man if you use a lighter to get some black soot on the lens then whip it off itll work better than any spray. Thats how the gopro bloggers get those epic half under water shots

Well diving meant going back into the clouds, and there is no guarantee of success, especially on the FPV camera due to its location! Plus... I've seen before what this plane does in a dive, and definitely not going repeat that!

Maybe try using shaving cream to keep water off the lens? It's a trick I used with my old goggles (that didn't have a fan) from fogging up. You just need to put a tiny dab of cream on the glass with a cotton swab and smear it around until it's not visible anymore.

Interesting... although that would involve buying shaving cream... soooo... as long as I will be buying something, might as well be the purpose made spray... which I can then also use on my motorcycle helmet! :)

good you know the problem, sadly looks like my AR pro is being sold of for parts or such, i always get the lame ducks from Banggood, however....it turns out i was wrong on the lame duck, the AR has rightfully proved me wrong

Well this is not the same spot as in the previous video! This is one of the regular spots where there is very little to none interference! The spot with the interference I haven't been back to yet, but hopefully soon will be to see how things are! :)

Love the intro update. 🎶 Noticed even before was mentioned (and replayed) because sounded cool. Great to see you still finding opportunities to fly. A nice update and flight. "The Last Flight" and lack of return in this video leave me wondering if this the last-last flight of your AR Wing Pro, or just the last flight it flew? 🤔💬 (guess we will find out in a future video) Can't wait to see future videos, sounds like you have a couple interesting ones planned. ♥️😎👍 suggestion: if the camera can pan, or tilt, I thing the indirect airflow would provide a better airflow to help clear up moisture issues.(in addition to a nano-tech treatment)

Thanks mate. Well it did come back, it is not lost, just not sure I will be flying it anymore... got plenty of other stuff to do and other models to get flying! :) Cameras are not on a pan/tilt mounts so can't be rotated sadly... that would have helped indeed!
