What’s it like for spectacle wearers? I’ve tried a number of helmets that fit nicely until I try to put on my spectacles. Could you mention if there is any provisions for spectacle wearers in future helmet reviews please.
Really good. I wear glasses and find the Arai’s so much better and easier than Shoei helmets for putting your glasses back on after putting your helmet on. My glasses go on really easy and sit on my nose as they should. Hope this helps.
Just a small correction. As you can confirm in Arai´s web site, its not a full removable interior lining. Its partial (the top, the chin curtain and the neck roll is not removable). Just in case someone decides to tear off any of those parts.
Apologies. I wore that helmet for more than a thousand miles and didn't realise the skull pad wasn't removable. Guess it never crossed my mind that a helmet in that price bracket would need to be washed upside-down in the shower. I'll be more alert to that in the future. Thanks for getting in touch, and apologies again. Cheers, Tony
I had to get a Shoei track helmet for my zx10r mainly for better vision when cornering. Now I have a daytona 675 and the same helmet but it don’t fit anymore, will the profile v go well on the 675 cornering extreme compared to a helmet that isn’t track oriented at all as far as vision goes?
It's a long time since I wore this helmet now, so I can't really help much on that score. It's not designed as a race helmet, though, so I wouldn't expect it to excel in the way you are looking to use it. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony
It's not the breeziest helmet I've tried, and it gets pretty hot when working hard on a warm trackday, but I wouldn't describe the venting as poor - it's just not as airy as a more track-focused helmet. Cheers, Tony
I have intermediate oval head shape but sligtly round and I have problem. I can't find quiet and good fitting helmet. I still ride 10 years old KBC VR-1x. I had Shark Speed-R and top of the helmet perfectly fitted me but neck and back of the helmet had too much space and helmet was incredible loud. I can't ride even with earplugs :( I musted sell it and I sold it few years ago. New Arai Hekmet like Chaser X was too narrow for me in the top so maybe this will be better?
Hi, it's possible this will suit better, though I think if you have had a run of issues like this then a trip to one of our stores, where many models are available along with specialist help on getting the right fit, is worthwhile. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony
Looking through the customer reviews, the Chaser-X gets a more favourable ride in terms of wind noise. Nine of the 58 reviewers use the word 'quiet' and none use the word 'noisy'. The Profile V's wider opening, which makes it easier to get on and off, does I think make it a bit noisier than helmets that are tighter fitting around the neck. For noise suppression, I'd go for the Chaser-X. Thanks for getting in touch, and I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony
Not sure how I described my head in this video, but I've just had it estimated from above for you and it turns out I'm more towards the round end of the scale, so maybe something like the Profile V would work for you like it does for me. My problem is the pair of pointy bits at either end of the back of my skull, which often dig uncomfortably into a helmet's EPS liner. The head shape of helmets isn't something we're particularly hot on. Maybe we should get with it a bit more. Food for thought. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony
